But why though? Who actually sits out in public or on the bus and plays their switch? It’s not like you can fully focus on the game. Nintendo sacrifices a lot for this portable gimmick. We don’t need silly motion controls… There’s a reason why Nintendo’s the only company doing it.. And portability is such a niche circumstantial gimmick. I’d rather we had a more up to date console that can actually run it’s games smoothly without any sacrifices to resolution and frame rate.. It’s 2022, Nintendo need to realise it isn’t the 90’s.. And don’t even get me started about repeatedly being sold the same games over and over again for the past 20-30 years…

Hold on; those of us out there that say we support and would push emulation are not only thinking about ourselves, here. Many do, sure, but there are those of us who very much have valid reasons for doing so. For one, coming from someone like myself who is NOT an expert in computer lingo, it took me maybe a week to set up: - an NES - an SNES - an n64 - a GB, GBC, and GBA - and a GCN/Wii emulator. It's not as difficult as you may initially think. Yes, there's work involved, but the result is very, very satisfying. You have the freedom of customization, rom hacks, controller setups, fan-made titles, and more. You have all the freedom that the consoles will not allow. Not only that, but you can actually upgrade the resolution of these older games. Have you seen Wind Waker on the gamecube in 1080p? It rivals the HD port, minus a swift sail, which is not at all a big deal if you have the freedom to not only play the game, but to be able to randomize it afterward and play it again in a completely diffrent way. Having tasted this freedom, and knowing that a dumbass like myself can do it, it is EVIDENT that Nintendo merely doesn't care, here, because they are much, much smarter folk up there and they CHOOSE not to do it. So, with a desire for freedom comes a strong message that is sent to Nintendo: give us the games, please. You lose money otherwise. They don't control you; they are YOUR experiences. With all of that said, no one should hate on another for NOT taking the emulation route. If there WERE a way to play something like TP on Switch, of COURSE I'd buy it. But they haven't released it, because they don't care. So I will 100% push someone to take a few hours and learn how to emulate, because there's a MASSIVE payoff. No need to wait for a corporation that doesn't care to withhold your experiences. Life is too short. You don't answer to them; you answer to you.
As someone who has been waiting to play twilight princess and never heard of wind waker until owning a switch. I have been patiently waiting for these to release on the switch. Keep up the good work man! I really do hope we hear about at least one of these games being released this year.
Twilight princess was on 3 consoles and wind water has been on two and backwards compatible on another. In my opinion Nintendo needs to focus on making new content or making total "remakes" of the games so they feel new. Porting them a third and fourth time is the most boring thing I can think of.

I would love to see an updated twilight Princess, I think it would look really good... We was surprised at skyward sword and I remember loads of people moaning about it but changed their mind when we got the chance to play it on switch.
I'd want remasters of these games - including the cut content / the content they didn't get around to finishing the first time around. I mean, if I'm paying for these games for a 3rd or 4th time, then I want something _new_ out of them.
I'm 22 and have never had a chance to play most of the games in the zelda series so being able to play OoT and MM through the switch is amazing. I cannot wait for WW and other games in the series.
As an older gamer, the first time I picked up the original Legend of Zelda I fell in love instantly. There was nothing like it at the time, at least on a console. Then when Ocarina of Time came out, I absolutely loved it with it's 3D game play and it's time line story going back and forth, but BOTW.... I was blown away! I can't wait for the sequel. That being said, I'd definitely love to see The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Switch. Come on Nintendo, make them available take my money!
To be honest, as strange as it sounds, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess would be system sellers. The amount of people I know who have half considered buying a Wii U JUST for those two games… I’m sure I’m not the only one
I understand the point of not porting them since those games have been ported at least once but just thinking about how many young switch players havent played this games i beleive it would be a bad buisness move not porting them. The only backlash that porting those games can get is people saying that other zelda games or franchises in general should have been ported instead of tp and ww, but nobody would be angry at the gact thst there is more zelda on switch.
My laptop won't even emulate Twilight Princess, and it has a 3Ghz CPU and 8GB RAM! I have no clue why you need a BEAST of a PC just to run a freaking Zelda game. That's why I hate PC gaming, they require too much damn power to run games that the Switch can run on just a ''fraction'' of that power. Makes no sense.
I bought a switch in january just because i wanted to play old games ive never played/finished before. I finally beat Ocarina of time for the first time ever and now im almost done with majoras mask. Windwaker is one of those games i played at a friends house when i was younger. I always loved that art style and thought it was really fun, and I never owned a gamecube. So yes, I NEED windwaker on switch lol

Thanks for this video bro. Another thing to mention for 4:33 is that many modern televisions nowadays don't have AV ports. HDMI converters are available, but from someone who has one, the picture quality makes your TV look like it's playing a VHS at times. On top of convenience, some things are truly becoming obsolete. This is coming from someone who has had an OG Xbox since 2002, and occasionally still boots it up despite it being an energy sucker.
If Nintendo ported LoZ Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to the Switch. It would help out a lot of fans old and new to the franchise. For older fans, the sense of nostalgia but in a new light. As for newer fans, a new experience in a much more affordable way. When telling people "Oh just buy this system to play the older games" its not that simple in some cases. Look at the recent quickly rising cost of retro gaming. Sure the Systems themselves might be affordable in some cases. Yet certain games cost more than the console itself at times. So, bringing these games to newer platforms helps those that never got a chance to experience them before.
The list of WiiU ports you mentioned were all Original WiiU games... Twilight Princess HD and WindWaker HD were already enhanced ports. For each WiiU port to Switch, a team of developers took the WiiU game and augmented it, tweaked it or expanded upon it with extra content or DLC. In the case of TP and WW - that has already happened. Nintendo have already got a team (tantalus) to rework the games to work on new hardware. The focus therefore - quite sensibly has been on original Zelda content (botw2) or remakes of games they haven't already done, such as Link's Awakening and Skyward Sword... When it comes to putting in work to update the Zelda Catalogue, the oracle games, Minish cap, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are all next in line before going back to Ocarina, Majora's and THEN Wind Waker and TP. It's possible also that Nintendo don't want to annoy WiiU owners that supported them, by asking them to double (or triple) dip on a port of a remaster of a game they probably already own. Remember Nintendo's first party WiiU to Switch ports have all ADDED features so that people double dipping have an incentive to buy again. In order to port WWHD and TPHD from WiiU to Switch - they'd have to REMOVE features - namely Miiverse integration, with the only advantage being the added portability of the switch... which is no advantage at all if you mainly play in TV mode. In order to bring TP or WW HD to Switch, Nintendo would have to approach Tantalus and say "hey you know all that work you did implementing WiiU specific features into the HD versions of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Yeah we need you to scrap all that and think of something else entirely to put in a Switch version..." - Oh and could you do it during a global pandemic? Yes, it could be done now as we slowly eke our way back to normality - it might even be fiscally prudent to do it... But that's not going to be a project those developers are going to enjoy - seeing a good chunk of their hardwork from a few years ago scrapped entirely. When it comes to the Gamecube originals or the wii version of TP, you have the same problem... Wind Waker had compatibility with the GBA connector for the Tingle Tuner, and TP on Wii of course used motion controls that would need to be programmed to work with the Joy con, and if Nintendo ported over these version there'd be a significant contingent of games journalists, youtubers and consumers attacking them for not bringing the HD versions over. I do think they should port the games - I'd love to have them on Switch - but Nintendo have never even hinted at these games coming over... and in the meantime as someone who bought a WiiU for its ability to play 12 Zelda titles and to support the company that made them - these games are my reward and my validation for doing so.
Emulation is great and fun, however, it’s always secondary to playing it on OEM hardware and there are almost always compromises, I will always emulate games (because it’s very nice and convenient, legality wise I only emulate games I own) but 99.99% of the time I prefer playing it officially on official hardware
I personally would love a port of ‘A Link Between Worlds’ it was one of the first Zelda games I played and finished, it’s one of my favorites and I hate that it is only available on the 3DS.
the only thing worth having a Wii U for now after all the ports seem to end up being Star Fox Zero, and the Zelda HDs. They really dont want to remember this system but if they could bring us Star Fox Zero on the switch with button controls would probably make this better than past star fox games
Yes I get this excuse all the time especially whenever I talk about how much I want the Metroid Prime trilogy for switch then someone says get a Nintendo Wii or a Wii U. I own a Wii just sadly not the Metroid Prime trilogy but still I want to play these amazing games on the go that'd be awesome playing the Metroid Prime games on the go.
I’m really really running out of patience with Nintendo but Thanks for making the case for these games I’ve been playing Nintendo games for just under 30 years and never had a chance to play windwaker or twilight princess it bugs when other UA-camrs say we don’t need them just because they have played every port I don’t know what Nintendo is waiting for with over 100 million switch consoles sold these games need to come out I’m sure there’s a big amount of people who haven’t seen or played these games I’m one of them I never really payed as much attention to Nintendo like I did with Xbox and PlayStation until the switch I’m really regretting it a lot of people like the way Nintendo operates and announces their games and ports but I hate it they expect us to go and buy old consoles that cost an arm and a leg and not everybody can afford it and I don’t know how to emulate games I also don’t have a pc I stick to consoles exclusively

I would really like if they did give us both of these on switch, I never finished windwaker on GameCube and I never had the chance to play twilight princess (which I would really like to). I have a Mac I can’t play them on the computer, and GameCube and wii U is way more expensive now than when it came out so it’s much harder to buy
I am still hoping for Switch ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, so much that it hurts!!! I remember playing WW with my brother and it was my favorite video game of all time (even when I had to hand over the controller because I was still a Smol(TM) and it got too scary lol) I just want to relive a slice of nostalgia and share it with new Zelda fans. :)
I absolutely agree I had to get all the systems I have myself (teenager without a job) I have a Wii U where my parents paid a bit and the switch I paid all of it myself. I only have played all the Zelda’s available (ss, botw, ww, tp, aoc) I really want to play ooc and mm but sadly buying a 3ds is too expensive (same goes for 80€ for a crap onlinepass) Just put some new graphics and they will sell so well, because for the people who never played them can play them and for the people who played them get a better/newer versions. So it is a win win for Nintendo the “poor people” and the “rich people” I btw crashed my school laptop for downloading an emulator
The "hassle" is the best thing about emulators in my opinion. It just so satisfying to finally figure out a problem with the help of some forum posts from 10 or 15 years ago and get the game running smoothly.
I think all the games should be ported/remastered for the Switch. It would be for the best. Besides, in light of how some companies take away digital games, physical is much better.
I just purchased a physical copy of TP, but own the digital HD version, and the GameCube and Wii versions as well. But I definitely want them on the Switch or the newest Nintendo console when that comes out. It just isn’t fair to expect any regular customer to go through the hassle of buying the old versions.
We absolutely do need them. Unlike the Wii, irrespective of the so-called 'Switch 2', the Switch has far more longevity, and will still see a sizeable playerbase long into the future. In terms of emulation, it's a pain in the arse most times, and strictly for convenience and longevity, I would happily buy both again.
Nintendo possible september direct, dont fail us. Ya know what, just give us ONE of them. Any game, ocarina, majora, twilight, windwaker, just do something. You owe us for what you did to botw2
I have been waiting for a different port for Twilight princess since I only owned it on Wii and skipped on Wii U back then.. but for years I’ve been wanting to play it again and I just couldn’t adjust to the wiimotes anymore.. so I gave up.. fast forward to today, I finally got a Wii U and got TP from e shop and windwaker as well with Minish cap as well, since e shop will close it was now or never. Let me say I am fully enjoying it!! I will get it IF IT comes to switch as well :)) the more ports the better
A Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess HD Port needs to happen on the switch! Just imagine: -60FPS (like Skyward Sword HD) -Shorter Tutorials that improves the pacing of the game -a notable difference compared to the Wii U Hd Port -Upgraded textures and polygons
By the way, you forgot Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. They've ported so many Wii U games to the switch that it will baffle me if they don't port the two Zelda games.
Yes we actually do and we will definitely get them because they need to release a new Zelda game every year so these are first up. I don't see them being bundled...Nintendo will remaster and sell them individually at full price. We all know it! Oracle of Ages and Seasons will be on the GBC/GBA emulator but so will Link's Awakening. Grezzo will redo OoA and Seasons and resell the remasters in the style of Link's Awakening on Switch. Later we will get Four Swords and then the next Switch after followed with Botw 3 which will be The Sequel to BOTW's Sequel, BOTW 2 in 2023. That game closes The Zelda Timeline with the redemption of Ganondorf, who we got rid of in BOTW 2. Ganondorf will be playable and will be needed to kill Demise once and for all alongside Link and Zelda his new allies who saved him eternally.
Carful whenever you pirate games, I had the bright idea to play wind waker online with a pirated ROM and i got fined a whole lot more than the game cost. I heard the subtle reference he made and i didn’t want anyone to have the same fate as me.
Majora's Mask shouldn't get a remake because of how much they messed up the 3DS version. Also, as for Oracle remakes, i don't know, but I don't really trust them to not dumb down the difficulty considering those are known to be some of the most challenging games in the series.
I wouldn't mind if Wind waker got a remaster as long as they don't get rid of the art style. It would be interesting to see it more detailed but cartoony, like the old Wind waker game tutorial/guide book. Don't know if you what I'm talking about but those old guides used to have concept art and stuff.
Some people would make the case that as of 2024 we have a lot of Zelda games already, but bro... Half of these games are old and musty and require you to pay $50 a month just to play them. Lol but in all seriousness half of these old games need to be played with a manual that Nintendo won't even add alongside their games anymore. It's one of the reasons NSO leaves a sour taste in my mouth because the manuals were half of the game.
Due to WiiU unpopular and another version that can emulated is Gamecube (Well not count Cemu) I think Wind Waker, Twilight Princess deserve at least WiiU port to Switch. Ocarina of Time and Majora Mask too that stuck on 3DS and N64 deserve remake too.
Oh man, my favorite zelda memory? that's hard, Zelda is my favorite franchise of all time so I have tons of fond memories. I think my favorite will always be when I first popped the cartridge of loz phantom hourglass in my ds, totally clueless as to what I was getting into. my dad had a ton of ds games that I was allowed to pick from to play sometimes, so I thought this was just another one of his "cool adult" games that I wouldn't really 'get' you know. But this one was different, as it booted up, there was bright colors, upbeat pirate-y music, and a funny green dude hanging out at the end of the boat. I had no idea at the time, (and wouldn't learn for a few years) but this green dude was link, and I thought he was awesome. As I played, I grew to love the game, enjoying linebecks hilarious personality, and how ciela and him would clash. I had never played a game like that before, and I didn't know what it was but I wanted more of it! I later found out is was part of a series called "The legend of zelda", and once I found that out I made it my goal to play as many of the games as possible since I enjoyed the first one so much. (I didn't know it was called loz since it had one of those blank gamestop cases from the 2000s with the funky anime dudes, yk what I'm talking about right?) Since then I've played tons of zelda games and loved them all (except triforce heroes, we don't talk about that one) and they've all been sort of a comfort throughout different stages of my life!
At this point I don't care about ports since they will be ports sold most likely for 60 with no updates, I just bought a Wii U and jail broke it to have TP + WW and all other games and hope to god that it doesn't get the sunshine in 3d all star treatment where we experience some lag. I think they should just buy a Wii U, I bought mine for around 100 and the gamepad you can play on the TV and Gamepad. The Switch port would probably be the same and if there are slight differences, I'm all in for it.

I need these ports so I can buy a switch… can’t imagine the pure Zelda Joy!!! Wind Waker , twilight , breath wild , links awakening , skyward sword, tears of the kingdom. The switch will be worth it for that.
I got the Switch a couple weeks ago to finally play Breath of the Wild but I thought the shop had all the old games too. Of the main series, Wind Waker was the only one I hadn't played (other than BOTW). Luckily, I have Twilight Princess and the other NES, SNES and 64 titles on either Wii or Switch but Wind Waker seems to be the one I can never get, and I don't want to have to buy a Wii U right after getting the Switch. Hopefully it will eventually be available. Same with games like A Link Between Worlds that I never got to play. At least I can buy the HD version of Skyward Sword. That was when I gave up due to the Wii controls and now jumping back in 12 years later.
So fun fact the 2ds is a single screen 3ds . An the Switch is 4 times more powerful yet wont be updated to read 3ds purchased games off the sd / nintendo 3ds folders . There is no way to connect switch lites and switch consoles in the same manor like the ds-dsi-3ds with ds download play. There is so many oofs that needs to be called out on nintendo .
I’d rather have Nintendo port these two Zelda games to Nintendo Switch in HD, than us having to resort to emulation,due to the legal area surrounding emulation.

As someone who's just got a switch as my first ever console at 41 and had my kid get me into BOTW I'd love to play every past Zelda game but being a broke arse disability benefits claimant I can't afford all the diffrent consoles I'd need to do that

My favorite one was twilight princess I learned how to play it at age 6 and it was the challenge and art style that I love. When I saw wind waker I knew that it would be amazing even if the art style sucked I wanted to play them. I actually thought to my self when I finally got a Nintendo switch and saw breath of the wild as a game for it I immediately knew that they would make a ton of money of they did a remaster for those two games. I am so pissed these games haven’t been ported over. The E-shop is 95% garbage undies and games I wouldn’t want to play on the go due to the limitations of the console. The 2nd huge reason I even bought a switch was because I absolutely refused to buy a Wii U and it’s the only console to get the 2 games ported over. I say, FUCK YOU NINTENDO!
We don’t need any video game, there is zero reason to not have a remaster or remake of twilight princess or wind waker ( ocarina and majora included but switch plus 64 catalog killed that I think) I missed out on a lot of Zelda games growing up and I wanna experience them now without hunting down a game cube

My best memory of zelda games is when you approach the Ganon egg in botw and it bursts open and the epic battle begins I loved that moment Also botw was the first zelda I ever played and my favorite
more games is always better. and right now we need older games on switch i haven’t played these games yet but i want to. i don’t really want to play them on Wii-u. my 2012 mac mini isn’t strong enough to emulate any console after the N64 without crashing. i have a wii-u but i very much prefer not playing on a TV.

They should re release the entire LoZ collection for Switch. But nintendo is stupid and won't do it. As far as I know the only way to play even OoT on switch is to pay a subscription so you never own the game and it can be taken away at the drop of a hat leaving you having payed however much and left with nothing
People diss windwaker way too much, theyre just salty because the year before it came out nintendo showed twilight princess graphics, but then after twilight princess came out, THEY STILL SALTY.

Hold on; those of us out there that say we support and would push emulation are not only thinking about ourselves, here. Many do, sure, but there are those of us who very much have valid reasons for doing so. For one, coming from someone like myself who is NOT an expert in computer lingo, it took me maybe a week to set up:
- an NES
- an SNES
- an n64
- a GB, GBC, and GBA
- and a GCN/Wii
emulator. It's not as difficult as you may initially think. Yes, there's work involved, but the result is very, very satisfying. You have the freedom of customization, rom hacks, controller setups, fan-made titles, and more. You have all the freedom that the consoles will not allow. Not only that, but you can actually upgrade the resolution of these older games. Have you seen Wind Waker on the gamecube in 1080p? It rivals the HD port, minus a swift sail, which is not at all a big deal if you have the freedom to not only play the game, but to be able to randomize it afterward and play it again in a completely diffrent way. Having tasted this freedom, and knowing that a dumbass like myself can do it, it is EVIDENT that Nintendo merely doesn't care, here, because they are much, much smarter folk up there and they CHOOSE not to do it. So, with a desire for freedom comes a strong message that is sent to Nintendo: give us the games, please. You lose money otherwise. They don't control you; they are YOUR experiences.
With all of that said, no one should hate on another for NOT taking the emulation route. If there WERE a way to play something like TP on Switch, of COURSE I'd buy it. But they haven't released it, because they don't care. So I will 100% push someone to take a few hours and learn how to emulate, because there's a MASSIVE payoff. No need to wait for a corporation that doesn't care to withhold your experiences. Life is too short. You don't answer to them; you answer to you.
As someone who has been waiting to play twilight princess and never heard of wind waker until owning a switch. I have been patiently waiting for these to release on the switch.

Twilight princess was on 3 consoles and wind water has been on two and backwards compatible on another. In my opinion Nintendo needs to focus on making new content or making total "remakes" of the games so they feel new. Porting them a third and fourth time is the most boring thing I can think of.

I would love to see an updated twilight Princess, I think it would look really good... We was surprised at skyward sword and I remember loads of people moaning about it but changed their mind when we got the chance to play it on switch.

I'd want remasters of these games - including the cut content / the content they didn't get around to finishing the first time around. I mean, if I'm paying for these games for a 3rd or 4th time, then I want something _new_ out of them.
I'm 22 and have never had a chance to play most of the games in the zelda series so being able to play OoT and MM through the switch is amazing. I cannot wait for WW and other games in the series.
As an older gamer, the first time I picked up the original Legend of Zelda I fell in love instantly. There was nothing like it at the time, at least on a console. Then when Ocarina of Time came out, I absolutely loved it with it's 3D game play and it's time line story going back and forth, but BOTW.... I was blown away! I can't wait for the sequel. That being said, I'd definitely love to see The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Switch. Come on Nintendo, make them available take my money!
To be honest, as strange as it sounds, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess would be system sellers. The amount of people I know who have half considered buying a Wii U JUST for those two games… I’m sure I’m not the only one
I understand the point of not porting them since those games have been ported at least once but just thinking about how many young switch players havent played this games i beleive it would be a bad buisness move not porting them. The only backlash that porting those games can get is people saying that other zelda games or franchises in general should have been ported instead of tp and ww, but nobody would be angry at the gact thst there is more zelda on switch.

My laptop won't even emulate Twilight Princess, and it has a 3Ghz CPU and 8GB RAM! I have no clue why you need a BEAST of a PC just to run a freaking Zelda game. That's why I hate PC gaming, they require too much damn power to run games that the Switch can run on just a ''fraction'' of that power. Makes no sense.
I bought a switch in january just because i wanted to play old games ive never played/finished before. I finally beat Ocarina of time for the first time ever and now im almost done with majoras mask. Windwaker is one of those games i played at a friends house when i was younger. I always loved that art style and thought it was really fun, and I never owned a gamecube. So yes, I NEED windwaker on switch lol

Thanks for this video bro. Another thing to mention for 4:33 is that many modern televisions nowadays don't have AV ports. HDMI converters are available, but from someone who has one, the picture quality makes your TV look like it's playing a VHS at times.
On top of convenience, some things are truly becoming obsolete. This is coming from someone who has had an OG Xbox since 2002, and occasionally still boots it up despite it being an energy sucker.
If Nintendo ported LoZ Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to the Switch. It would help out a lot of fans old and new to the franchise.
For older fans, the sense of nostalgia but in a new light. As for newer fans, a new experience in a much more affordable way.
When telling people "Oh just buy this system to play the older games" its not that simple in some cases. Look at the recent quickly rising cost of retro gaming. Sure the Systems themselves might be affordable in some cases. Yet certain games cost more than the console itself at times. So, bringing these games to newer platforms helps those that never got a chance to experience them before.
The list of WiiU ports you mentioned were all Original WiiU games... Twilight Princess HD and WindWaker HD were already enhanced ports. For each WiiU port to Switch, a team of developers took the WiiU game and augmented it, tweaked it or expanded upon it with extra content or DLC.
In the case of TP and WW - that has already happened. Nintendo have already got a team (tantalus) to rework the games to work on new hardware. The focus therefore - quite sensibly has been on original Zelda content (botw2) or remakes of games they haven't already done, such as Link's Awakening and Skyward Sword... When it comes to putting in work to update the Zelda Catalogue, the oracle games, Minish cap, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are all next in line before going back to Ocarina, Majora's and THEN Wind Waker and TP.
It's possible also that Nintendo don't want to annoy WiiU owners that supported them, by asking them to double (or triple) dip on a port of a remaster of a game they probably already own. Remember Nintendo's first party WiiU to Switch ports have all ADDED features so that people double dipping have an incentive to buy again. In order to port WWHD and TPHD from WiiU to Switch - they'd have to REMOVE features - namely Miiverse integration, with the only advantage being the added portability of the switch... which is no advantage at all if you mainly play in TV mode.
In order to bring TP or WW HD to Switch, Nintendo would have to approach Tantalus and say "hey you know all that work you did implementing WiiU specific features into the HD versions of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Yeah we need you to scrap all that and think of something else entirely to put in a Switch version..." - Oh and could you do it during a global pandemic? Yes, it could be done now as we slowly eke our way back to normality - it might even be fiscally prudent to do it... But that's not going to be a project those developers are going to enjoy - seeing a good chunk of their hardwork from a few years ago scrapped entirely.
When it comes to the Gamecube originals or the wii version of TP, you have the same problem... Wind Waker had compatibility with the GBA connector for the Tingle Tuner, and TP on Wii of course used motion controls that would need to be programmed to work with the Joy con, and if Nintendo ported over these version there'd be a significant contingent of games journalists, youtubers and consumers attacking them for not bringing the HD versions over.
I do think they should port the games - I'd love to have them on Switch - but Nintendo have never even hinted at these games coming over... and in the meantime as someone who bought a WiiU for its ability to play 12 Zelda titles and to support the company that made them - these games are my reward and my validation for doing so.

Nintendo could make money hand over fist by simply porting classic Zelda and Metroid games to switch. They'd sell a million copies almost instantly
Emulation is great and fun, however, it’s always secondary to playing it on OEM hardware and there are almost always compromises, I will always emulate games (because it’s very nice and convenient, legality wise I only emulate games I own) but 99.99% of the time I prefer playing it officially on official hardware
I personally would love a port of ‘A Link Between Worlds’ it was one of the first Zelda games I played and finished, it’s one of my favorites and I hate that it is only available on the 3DS.

the only thing worth having a Wii U for now after all the ports seem to end up being Star Fox Zero, and the Zelda HDs. They really dont want to remember this system but if they could bring us Star Fox Zero on the switch with button controls would probably make this better than past star fox games

I’m really really running out of patience with Nintendo but Thanks for making the case for these games I’ve been playing Nintendo games for just under 30 years and never had a chance to play windwaker or twilight princess it bugs when other UA-camrs say we don’t need them just because they have played every port I don’t know what Nintendo is waiting for with over 100 million switch consoles sold these games need to come out I’m sure there’s a big amount of people who haven’t seen or played these games I’m one of them I never really payed as much attention to Nintendo like I did with Xbox and PlayStation until the switch I’m really regretting it a lot of people like the way Nintendo operates and announces their games and ports but I hate it they expect us to go and buy old consoles that cost an arm and a leg and not everybody can afford it and I don’t know how to emulate games I also don’t have a pc I stick to consoles exclusively

I would really like if they did give us both of these on switch, I never finished windwaker on GameCube and I never had the chance to play twilight princess (which I would really like to). I have a Mac I can’t play them on the computer, and GameCube and wii U is way more expensive now than when it came out so it’s much harder to buy
I am still hoping for Switch ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, so much that it hurts!!! I remember playing WW with my brother and it was my favorite video game of all time (even when I had to hand over the controller because I was still a Smol(TM) and it got too scary lol)

I absolutely agree I had to get all the systems I have myself (teenager without a job) I have a Wii U where my parents paid a bit and the switch I paid all of it myself. I only have played all the Zelda’s available (ss, botw, ww, tp, aoc) I really want to play ooc and mm but sadly buying a 3ds is too expensive (same goes for 80€ for a crap onlinepass) Just put some new graphics and they will sell so well, because for the people who never played them can play them and for the people who played them get a better/newer versions. So it is a win win for Nintendo the “poor people” and the “rich people”

The "hassle" is the best thing about emulators in my opinion. It just so satisfying to finally figure out a problem with the help of some forum posts from 10 or 15 years ago and get the game running smoothly.

I think all the games should be ported/remastered for the Switch. It would be for the best. Besides, in light of how some companies take away digital games, physical is much better.

It is for the most part. Sometimes it can be tricky. The biggest issue is owning the games right. Rom sites are getting slaughtered right now.
I just purchased a physical copy of TP, but own the digital HD version, and the GameCube and Wii versions as well. But I definitely want them on the Switch or the newest Nintendo console when that comes out. It just isn’t fair to expect any regular customer to go through the hassle of buying the old versions.

We absolutely do need them. Unlike the Wii, irrespective of the so-called 'Switch 2', the Switch has far more longevity, and will still see a sizeable playerbase long into the future.
In terms of emulation, it's a pain in the arse most times, and strictly for convenience and longevity, I would happily buy both again.

I have been waiting for a different port for Twilight princess since I only owned it on Wii and skipped on Wii U back then.. but for years I’ve been wanting to play it again and I just couldn’t adjust to the wiimotes anymore.. so I gave up.. fast forward to today, I finally got a Wii U and got TP from e shop and windwaker as well with Minish cap as well, since e shop will close it was now or never. Let me say I am fully enjoying it!! I will get it IF IT comes to switch as well :)) the more ports the better

Yes we actually do and we will definitely get them because they need to release a new Zelda game every year so these are first up. I don't see them being bundled...Nintendo will remaster and sell them individually at full price. We all know it!
Oracle of Ages and Seasons will be on the GBC/GBA emulator but so will Link's Awakening. Grezzo will redo OoA and Seasons and resell the remasters in the style of Link's Awakening on Switch. Later we will get Four Swords and then the next Switch after followed with Botw 3 which will be The Sequel to BOTW's Sequel, BOTW 2 in 2023. That game closes The Zelda Timeline with the redemption of Ganondorf, who we got rid of in BOTW 2. Ganondorf will be playable and will be needed to kill Demise once and for all alongside Link and Zelda his new allies who saved him eternally.
Carful whenever you pirate games, I had the bright idea to play wind waker online with a pirated ROM and i got fined a whole lot more than the game cost. I heard the subtle reference he made and i didn’t want anyone to have the same fate as me.

Majora's Mask shouldn't get a remake because of how much they messed up the 3DS version. Also, as for Oracle remakes, i don't know, but I don't really trust them to not dumb down the difficulty considering those are known to be some of the most challenging games in the series.
I wouldn't mind if Wind waker got a remaster as long as they don't get rid of the art style. It would be interesting to see it more detailed but cartoony, like the old Wind waker game tutorial/guide book. Don't know if you what I'm talking about but those old guides used to have concept art and stuff.
My Wii-U remains just 2 Zelda titles away from retirement, so yes, I do want this.
Some people would make the case that as of 2024 we have a lot of Zelda games already, but bro... Half of these games are old and musty and require you to pay $50 a month just to play them.
Lol but in all seriousness half of these old games need to be played with a manual that Nintendo won't even add alongside their games anymore. It's one of the reasons NSO leaves a sour taste in my mouth because the manuals were half of the game.
Due to WiiU unpopular and another version that can emulated is Gamecube (Well not count Cemu) I think Wind Waker, Twilight Princess deserve at least WiiU port to Switch.
Ocarina of Time and Majora Mask too that stuck on 3DS and N64 deserve remake too.

Oh man, my favorite zelda memory? that's hard, Zelda is my favorite franchise of all time so I have tons of fond memories. I think my favorite will always be when I first popped the cartridge of loz phantom hourglass in my ds, totally clueless as to what I was getting into. my dad had a ton of ds games that I was allowed to pick from to play sometimes, so I thought this was just another one of his "cool adult" games that I wouldn't really 'get' you know. But this one was different, as it booted up, there was bright colors, upbeat pirate-y music, and a funny green dude hanging out at the end of the boat. I had no idea at the time, (and wouldn't learn for a few years) but this green dude was link, and I thought he was awesome. As I played, I grew to love the game, enjoying linebecks hilarious personality, and how ciela and him would clash. I had never played a game like that before, and I didn't know what it was but I wanted more of it! I later found out is was part of a series called "The legend of zelda", and once I found that out I made it my goal to play as many of the games as possible since I enjoyed the first one so much. (I didn't know it was called loz since it had one of those blank gamestop cases from the 2000s with the funky anime dudes, yk what I'm talking about right?) Since then I've played tons of zelda games and loved them all (except triforce heroes, we don't talk about that one) and they've all been sort of a comfort throughout different stages of my life!

At this point I don't care about ports since they will be ports sold most likely for 60 with no updates, I just bought a Wii U and jail broke it to have TP + WW and all other games and hope to god that it doesn't get the sunshine in 3d all star treatment where we experience some lag. I think they should just buy a Wii U, I bought mine for around 100 and the gamepad you can play on the TV and Gamepad. The Switch port would probably be the same and if there are slight differences, I'm all in for it.

I got the Switch a couple weeks ago to finally play Breath of the Wild but I thought the shop had all the old games too. Of the main series, Wind Waker was the only one I hadn't played (other than BOTW). Luckily, I have Twilight Princess and the other NES, SNES and 64 titles on either Wii or Switch but Wind Waker seems to be the one I can never get, and I don't want to have to buy a Wii U right after getting the Switch. Hopefully it will eventually be available. Same with games like A Link Between Worlds that I never got to play. At least I can buy the HD version of Skyward Sword. That was when I gave up due to the Wii controls and now jumping back in 12 years later.
So fun fact the 2ds is a single screen 3ds . An the Switch is 4 times more powerful yet wont be updated to read 3ds purchased games off the sd / nintendo 3ds folders . There is no way to connect switch lites and switch consoles in the same manor like the ds-dsi-3ds with ds download play.

My favorite one was twilight princess I learned how to play it at age 6 and it was the challenge and art style that I love. When I saw wind waker I knew that it would be amazing even if the art style sucked I wanted to play them. I actually thought to my self when I finally got a Nintendo switch and saw breath of the wild as a game for it I immediately knew that they would make a ton of money of they did a remaster for those two games. I am so pissed these games haven’t been ported over. The E-shop is 95% garbage undies and games I wouldn’t want to play on the go due to the limitations of the console. The 2nd huge reason I even bought a switch was because I absolutely refused to buy a Wii U and it’s the only console to get the 2 games ported over. I say, FUCK YOU NINTENDO!

We don’t need any video game, there is zero reason to not have a remaster or remake of twilight princess or wind waker ( ocarina and majora included but switch plus 64 catalog killed that I think) I missed out on a lot of Zelda games growing up and I wanna experience them now without hunting down a game cube

My best memory of zelda games is when you approach the Ganon egg in botw and it bursts open and the epic battle begins I loved that moment

i haven’t played these games yet but i want to. i don’t really want to play them on Wii-u. my 2012 mac mini isn’t strong enough to emulate any console after the N64 without crashing. i have a wii-u but i very much prefer not playing on a TV.

They should re release the entire LoZ collection for Switch. But nintendo is stupid and won't do it. As far as I know the only way to play even OoT on switch is to pay a subscription so you never own the game and it can be taken away at the drop of a hat leaving you having payed however much and left with nothing
People diss windwaker way too much, theyre just salty because the year before it came out nintendo showed twilight princess graphics, but then after twilight princess came out, THEY STILL SALTY.
