The Future of Planet Zoo | Which Locations Still Need Representation?

In this video we'll be discussing what areas of the world Planet Zoo already has animals from and which areas are lacking representation. Including some suggestions from me and analysis of the Meta Wishlist from the PZ Forums.

I feel mountains could be a really good choice, Probably the most needed one atm

I feel like these are just strong picks for mountainous animals and do help to add some more unique animals to the game

Really like your picks, we desperately need more primates, SA animals and ‘ground’ birds. Tree Kangaroo is definitely in my top 5! I’m also old enough to remember Musk Ox at Whipsnade!
Thank you. I find it very frustrating that there isn't a single New Zealand animal in game. Especially as we have a bunch of weird and interesting flightless birds, many that use burrows. It wouldn't be difficult to implement.
I’d definitely say the regions that need the most representation are South America, Oceania, and Antarctica and those should be the priority!

Does Antarctica really need more representation? Like maybe one more Penguin from there would be fine but besides Penguins anything else in zoos is so far and few between that just 1-2 animals from Antarctica is already good representation

@@capybara455I mean elephant seals and leopard seals aren’t zoo animals
Elephant seals were kept in beginning of zoos but now only one center has them because of rescue
And leopard seals were only kept for rescue
So both aren’t really common zoo animals and this game does want animals that are kept in zoos
As far as future dlcs go if they aren't going to give us an aquatic or aviary one then I wish they would do an exhibit focused dlc. It would be awesome to be able to customize our exhibits and there's sooo many more critters they could add. Good pics for your animal rosters
Interesting hearing your thoughts on this. In a perfect world, I would love an Oceania Animal Pack to fill out what’s “missing” from Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea. After Arid Animal Pack, it’s anyone’s guess what’s next, and I’m excited to find out.
This is a great insight into the missing areas for animals to add to PZ. I really hope the developers see this, as it is an educated and realistic insight from you who knows their zoos and which animals would be realistic to add to Planet Zoo. I really enjoyed your insight and always appreciate your knowledge and explanations.
I think planet zoo should have a india animal pack. India is very diverse biome wise for animals. We have the Himalayas, the Thar desert, open plants of the north and much more. This is my pick for some animals to add in a india animal pack.
1) black buck
2) nilgai
3) sloth bear
4) gaur
5) spotted deer
6) lion tailed macaque
7) grey langur
8) king cobra
Now a list of some animals they could add but probably won't because they have a similar counter part in game.
1) Asiatic lion: counter part west african lion
2) nilgris thar: counter part dall sheep and alpine Ibex
3) indian leopard: counter part amur leopard
4) indian gazelle: counter part Thomsen gazelle.
What do you think what are some changes you think should be add to this list do you think we need more india at all. I think we do.
People wanting more picks from already represented areas, still amazes me when the game is literally called "Planet Zoo".

Antarctica Pack I would love theme builds for igloos and similar builds to Bharati Research building and more viewing domes themes and maybe an ice path addition

Realistically looking at trends and what can really be expected from the last couple of packs, I think we have to expect birds and aquatic being neglected HEAVILY. We might get some sort of non-flying bird or semi-aquatic animal, but the list of animals we want vs the list of animals we can get at this point, editing out those options is a better reach for Frontier to reach the rest of the world (not that they will, either). Also, I think Frontier is terrified of birds and the deep sea....
We still need a bit more representation in the "walkthrough exhibit" for it to feel like it was a cost-effective addition, so I would hope for one multi-species option and one other option (the last two packs), or even an exhibit-focused pack. However, taking an exhibit-focused pack would be a huge fiscal risk and would cut out even more options of world animals.
So taking all that into account, I can see something with the highlands/arctic regions touching Greenland, Antarctica, Asian highlands, etc as the winter pack...
And the last pack is either going to be something islands or australian/south american themed.... or it could be something like the "conservation pack" where it is a bunch of oddball options playing into something else zoo-related. The only thing and I'm not a pro I could think of is an "Ambassador animal" pack, which is smaller animals, many of which we already have.
What I feel like we OUGHT to get vs what we WILL get is devastating to think about. I would love to get a carousel as the Anniversary item as so many zoos have carousels. I'd love a submersible type transport ride to experience the aquatic critters easier. And I'd love to see more of the game mechanics introduced more used as well (like seriously, spitting?). And frankly, it would be nice to see eggs introduced in the game since there are so many babies that could appear from eggs! Add in a petting zoo or nursery mechanic as well. Would be a great spring addition, but now I"m just grasping at straws. So I end this rant (lol) with the realistic options to consider:
-Asia will get more animals, probably with a "Highlands" type pack.
-Europe will melt away into oblivion along with the oceans and Antarctica.
-South America, Australia, & North America (or the islands of the world) is the last room for a pack.... and I'm sure it will be the oddest pack leaving us wanting more.
-I won't be paying for the full packs until they're less than $5 because of all that XD
For a aquarium pack I want the walrus, manatee, green sea turtle, blacktip reef shark or sandtigershark, and red belly piranha for a exhibit
Seeing a pack with the Walrus would be nice..Also elk and other North American and animals from Europe would be nice

Maybe not a whole dlc, but id definitely like a couple more Caribbean animals
- South America is probably lacking the most representation, you could easily make a pack: (Spectacled Bear, Ocelot, Coati, Howler Monkey, Spider Monkey, Rhea, Alpaca, Golden Lion Tamarin, Pygmy Marmoset, Giant Armadillo, Tamandua)
- Africa is probably the best represented continent, you could easily make a pack: (African Leopard, Honey Badger, Secretary Bird, Baboon, Gelada, Marabou Stork, African Gray Crowned Crane, Guineafowl, Kudu, Nile Crocodile, Sifaka, Indri, Aye Aye, Black and White Colobus Monkey)
Exhibits - I want mammals in exhibits - rodents, naked mole rats, hedgehogs, and birds and fish in exhibits like you would see at a REAL zoo - maybe mesh screens instead of glass - maybe different shaped exhibits and different sized exhibits so anacondas and cockroaches don't have to use the SAME SIZED EXHIBITS - and that way we could have a variety of shapes so EVERY EXHIBIT DOESNT LOOK THE SAME - you could easily make a pack - especially if Frontier finally includes small MAMMAL, small BIRD and small FISH species: (Emerald Tree Boa, Cuban Solenodon, European Hedgehog, Pygmy Marmoset, Lemming, Green Anaconda, Black Mamba, King Cobra, Frilled Lizard, Tuatara, Weta, Taipan)
ABOVE ALL ELSE MENTIONED:
- Birds pack (you can easily name 20 species of birds Planet Zoo is missing)
- Aquarium pack (sharks, fish, whales, dolphins, octopus, starfish, jellyfish, manatees, walrus you could easily name 20 species)
Sea Otter never go on land, they are as fully aquatic as a Manatee theyre born raised and mate on water, they sleep and eat on water too
Australië isn’t the easiest part for zoos as there aren’t really that much species that are housed in zoos
Yes we have kiwis and stuff but they aren’t the easiest to get
Tree kangaroo and Tasmanian devil are my best quest to get
Yes I know there more species but I don’t want reskins like a grey kangoeroe or swamp wallaby
And African leopard
The iberian peninsula need more representation😢🇵🇹🇪🇦
Europe should have the Wisent.
I really want the Chinese alligator because we’re just one type of alligator you’re sick. Some came in some crocodiles in the planet zoo that I feel like I can I will I want the Chinese alligator really belly
