LT Deadhead, first a Phan 98, and yeah... being in the hall, it's a different experience. I love it. This is real quartet playing, w so many subtle effects. These shows have themes; the themes match the players. They players aren't 29-yr old blazers no'mo. Nor am I. Feels good in my heart to rise and relax, rise and relax in the mystery the boys are carrying. Really good set and show!
Much like Pink Floyd (musically speaking NOT lyrically!!) the four of these musicians are a sum much greater than their individual parts! Truly another fine example of how sublime, transcendent and triumphant the music of Phish is and can be. How fortunate I was to attend these two nights 07-24-25-2019 @ The Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco, California!
My first show was at San Francisco civic, now Bill graham. Grew up San Rafael Marin county San Francisco. In My case it was 1984 . Adam ant 🐜. And the band had two drummers 🍄🐟🐟🐟🍄
Someday, I will join Phish again --Tour with them for the Summer and never be seen again... Just disappear into their goodness :) I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! Your music makes me so happy :)
A spirit phamily... set your soul free! No better place on earth to do it. So many years has it been, that we shine deep from within... Together we stand, so grateful I am.
Great new song, like it so far. The great thing about Phish and all the jambands is that they can do a brand new song in front of an audience and everyone will listen to it and decide if they like it. It doesn't have to be on an album or the big hit single crap. Pounded through everyone's head and shoved down their throats. I don't know what anyone's problem with this song is. Sounds fine to me. Thanx for posting this.
A cactus is a member of the plant family Cactaceae, a family comprising about 127 genera with some 1750 known species of the order Caryophyllales. The word "cactus" derives, through Latin, from the Ancient Greek, a name originally used by Theophrastus for a spiny plant whose identity is not certain.
This show was at Bill Graham Auditorium in San Fran on the day dozens of fires were exploding in Cali..my sister's home burned down that night in the Carr fire outside Redding...didn't save her soul...? nice jam though...!!
So far, yes! He’s only had a couple 2018 shows but his playing during the jam out of this and most all of the gorge sets were very nice. He’s changed a lot since the 90’s but who among us has not? Live in the now, we can’t go back
Not really..I saw a bunch of shows from 92-97, if I heard them now for the first time I’d pass. I find the funk jams boring and pointless and not nearly the energy all around. I know they’re older men and it’s difficult to maintain that energy but the new songs are kind of lame aside from the occasional Petricor...Every jam turns into a funk improv...not my cup of tea, I prefer the intricate writing of Curtain and Reba and YEM. The ambient funk glow sticks envelope filter style is nice once in awhile ...2 hours of it would be torture to me. That being said early Phish IMO is still some of the greatest rock music ever written
Love it man, the whole journey, the band intertwining, Trey's solo projects, constant new songs filtering in, keeps you guessing what's next at the shows.
Chad Bentz I live about an hour or so East of there myself.. I seen Further Festival the Allman Brothers and Phish all in 1998 that summer at Star Lake.. I was hooked..lol
Can anybody in the family close to it all answer me this: is that stuff bout halfway in trey using a flanger with the Mutron? I was under the impression (and kinda hoping for the sake of my own identity of sound) that he's really more of a chorus-man and presumably just doesn't care for flange much.......I actually decided not to use phaser to not sound like jerry and not chorus to not sound like trey.........was hoping MXR flanger could be MY baby. Oh well
I like my songs the length of a sitcom
jerry (seinfeld) says yes
LONGER
Ya know... like the fish tv show
No doubt!! :-) Cheers Amigo. BJW
@@kravensnowmoon9133 With Abe Vigoda!
This shit never gets old. One of the best SYSF and a JOTY contender for 2018. Some dark jams, peak jams, funk jams...❤
This version stands the test of time. Only the second SYSF and they went for it here. This jam has legs kids.
Long long limbs

"First time caller...long time listener" The video team manages to get inside of something here. Great Hustle.
This song brings out the funk in me!!
I love it when the jam turns into a 70s TV car chase theme at 16:00.
Explain? Love this jam. Cheers. :-) BJW

steve monroe YES!
Cactus is the nickname for Mike Gordon, and nerds who post wiki stats randomly crack me up. Love this lol
Finally a new phish song that feels like a phish song (:
This is so good.
Loving the stereo sound Trey has going on panning left to right must sound awesome on the PA system in the arena
Sounds like a Fly and the Family Stone 70's song writing, and then a jam. Reminds me of 89 - 92 Grateful Dead.
This show was at Bill Graham Auditorium in San Fran on the day dozens of fires were exploding in Cali..my sister's home burned down that night in the Carr fire outside Redding...didn't save her soul...? nice jam though...!!
Awesome song!!!
yes! Instant classic
Keroda's lighting rig is insane.
CK5 is a golden god!

Question for 90s fans, do you like 2018 Phish? Trey's playing??
Absolutely yes!

Trey sounds great now that he’s practicing again it’s obvious he is...it’s the material I find lackluster
Love it man, the whole journey, the band intertwining, Trey's solo projects, constant new songs filtering in, keeps you guessing what's next at the shows.
i like this song sue me
fuck all the jaded vet haters man... like what u like... this is fire... SET YOUR SOUL FREE BROTHER. fuck the .netters
I'm a big phan of Phish but not so much on this song along with the jam..1998 was my first Phish show in Burrgettstown PA
Steve Cook my first show too steve!! Trenchtown rock opener!
Chad Bentz That night was a spiritual experience.. So glad you made it.. Star Lake was a really cool venue to see them.. Runaway Jim sec set opener?
Steve Cook definitely was a life changer for me. Yea I live about a hour away from starlake, I love seeing shows there. That runaway was very nice.
Chad Bentz I live about an hour or so East of there myself.. I seen Further Festival the Allman Brothers and Phish all in 1998 that summer at Star Lake.. I was hooked..lol
Steve Cook that's cool. I think I was at the allmans that year too. Missed out on furthur that year for some reason
looks like they called an audible and decided to crush the jam for a new song
the song is way too repetitive for me.
@@CruznN4th its hypnotic and I did it... to each their own i guess...
15:10 hahaha head bop city
see you tomorrow!
Sensual sensual sensual sensual soul free
Agreeed :) I feel that too :) Really love how Phish is sounding lately, so amazing :)

Rock on, Trey. Rock on!
#30,000
if you can accept the cheesy humor of these new songs they're actually pretty great and they all jam hard
Tom Rice wait whats the cheesy humor
ATTiTUNE say's Hi!
This song had potential but sorta never blossomed.. Trey was experimenting..
JFC... I used to truly love this band. What the hell happened?
Hey phish, please retire Set your soul free, Soul planet, Everything's right, & More from your live shows. thanks!
What the.... is this a phish song? Sounds like a child wrote it.
This is why it's a Phish song :v
Can Trey even solo anymore? Has he completely ceased practicing scales?
Go see them and you'll see why he plays that way. His feel is so on point imo
sounds like a garage band..everyone on social security at concert
jam was excellent. just a shame the song itself is shit.
Phish in a nutshell
I mean that's been Phish lately
Comment and replies are spot on.
Here's a dedicated moron for ya! Somebody needs to set 'their' soul free.
brains481 Yup.
This song is a cringefest
but this jam is soo good
you guys sadly missed 1.0 Phish...only good stuff really, this is very bad
Snooooooooze Fest. Music for when you want all sexiness removed from your life.
