- The Regional Transportation District has installed security cameras aimed at protecting cars inside a Boulder Park-N-Ride garage that is a hotspot for catalytic converter theft.
🇺🇸 What about ALL THE OTHER PARK N RIDE? What about on the bus and rails. WHAT A JOKE!
Lol. More camers to watch your cat converter live and hi definition. Why not hire people to stop this.
RTD next stop on the route to the airport is Flatirons Park-n-ride. A Chevy Express van was stolen from there on 2/15/2023. RTD nor police will produce video even though there is a camera by the stairs. RTD says to obtain video from police and police say to obtain video from RTD. This lot has numerous thefts ranging from catalytic converters, to all 4 tires on trucks and leaving them on cinder blocks, to auto theft. Had to make police report on phone, as they could not go to the RTD lot for some reason.
Awesome, now the thieves can wave as they drive off with my car. And I can get told there is a movie made about my car being stolen after I've walked back to get it. This will definitely help out when I'm standing where my car used to be, and figuring out my finances to be able to buy another car.
About TIME. This has been an issue for years. Had mine stolen in Jan 2022. RTD didn't give a s**t.
Don't blame RTD. Criminals are not afraid of justice system in Colorado. I can only imagine why....😒
What does this help? I've heard many accounts that RTD won't release the footage to victims in any case. They would rather cling to the illusion that these park-and-rides are safe places to park your car. The only help this camera will provide is as a (practically nonexistent) deterrent. They might as well not even turn them on.
RTD could do a lot more to improve security at the light rail stations too. There should be a security guard at the stations and on the trains. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue.
They are hiring but who wants to deals with smelly ppl that smoke meth in the open.
