Good topic and it's very true seems like when all the TV shows came out on collector car came on the price went up too ..a couple of suggestions for topics one could be alternatives 60s and 50s cars for lowriders and maby doing a live shop talk some time?
Yes. Automotive television shows has effected the price of classic cars. Today (imo) any car over 25 years old the starting price is $3,500. No matter the make, model, year, or condition. There are many "alternatives '60's and '50's cars for lowriders". It's unfortunate that lowriding culture has been preprogrammed for Chevrolet Impalas for the last 35+ years. Buick Wildcats, Pontiac Bonnevilles, and Oldsmobile Starfires, are great cars to build as an lowrider instead of an Chevrolet Impala.
'Inflation' is one of the causes of these prices we're seeing for classic automobiles today. Another cause is 'supply and demand'. The demand for '58-'64 Chevrolet Impalas is where it was during the mid-'90's, but the prices are dramatically different. The location of the car dictates the price as well. Most desire a car from a drier climate (Southwest, West Coast) versus a car from a wetter climate that is prone to rust. Well, the car from the drier climate will be more money due to it being in better condition than the car from the wetter climate.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in your videos. I recently purchased a 64 and plan on doing the body work, paint and some hydros all diy thanks to your videos. So if you have any old used good parts for hydraulics, I'm looking for just a lay and play, up down that's it. It's been my dream car. Thanks for any help it tips
Supply and demand... Abundance of money and credit.. yes there is hard times for income.. As long people are willing to pay .. Coming up with a price the sky the limit.. regardless of its a project or fully built and people will pay
I’m making plans to go to vocational Auyobody school. Got the green light to bring it for paint. The teacher said it would be exite the youth to work an a 64 and there will be no shortage of help instructor expertise and tools. Im here now paying it forward 😎 gotta control costs😂 im gonna let the instructor document everything he might start his own posts on I G 👍🏽
True especially after the NWA movie came out, and the Super Bowl halftime show, all the OGs and even the wannabe Cali gangsters wanted an Impala. 😂 I bought my first 65 Impala SS running from a guys yard for 2800 in 1999. Now you can't buy a chassis for that. LOL Glad I kept my convertible. Still expensive to build especially if you have any chrome undies and switches. The other thing is social media, everyone wants a 64. They are played out. OGs that know the game would not pay that much even if they play those inflation games. 😂 The other issue people see is those cars at the shows and IG and they want there car the same, they don't realize that a lot of the cars are trailer queens and don't even see the streets. Love and drive what you build and fuck everyone's opinion and also don't keep secrets like the old timers, they don't want you to come up sometimes. You haven't even mentioned the Japan buyers bro LOL
Talk about the origin of lowriders and the culture. New Mexico vs. L.A. black, white and brown contributions. How it went from gang culture to more family oriented.
C-10’s are a prime example of how the market sets the value. Im not talking about the shops making these 100-200k trucks im talking about the stock shortbeds still going for 15-20k when i bout three of them in the same condition in the early 2000”s for 2500 bux. Adex dumps too wtf, some guys asking 2k for them
The value of the dollar has gotten bad giving the feeling that thing are more than they should. 1995 minimum wage about $5 2024 is $20 so that $3500 car is now $14000. I'm going back on the gold standard.

Makes sense. That's why hunks of junk are priced so high. That really makes sense

Lowridering is just expensive in all directions building your own getting it built or buying one built parts cost the same and labor is expensive
I kept my original parts when i restored the 62 impala
good idea
Even the nuts and bolts I enjoy the shows keep them coming
Topic suggestion - not sure if it's been discussed - to engrave or not to engrave?

Adex used to be 325 raw. And at that time, it was expensive....
Ya I bought a 61 c10 in 2020 for 7500 and sold it for 15 in 2024

in 95 i was making 4.25 an hour , working a 4 hour shift after school. that is 17 dollars minus taxes, minus SS and minus gas to get there...crazy lol
