You should try putting it on low in a crock pot and using a gentle heat not frying it. Also you can grate or macerate it, cover it in grape seed or coconut oil and let sit for a week or two, shaking the jar daily and then strain when ready.

I use double pan boiling method by putting the olive oil in bottle, add grated carrot and sit the bottle inside the hot water but on low heat for longer period, turning the mixture. I kept the mixture afterwards for one week before sieved

Press down the top of the bottle cover. When you hear the ke sound the lid will release then you can open it easily. I was so also finding it difficult opening my bottle like this and I ended up destroying my lid. It really pained me.

Coconut oil and carrots will not do damage as it has no chemicals and it's not like bleaching your skin. Our skin needs moisture and deserves to feel healthy. Getting darker in the sun suggest tanning and that should also be done with care to avoid over exposure as not to develop skin cancer. You can be dark skin and have gorgeous glowing skin and I think that is the point of the oil.
