Highway code rule 137. You should only be in the right hand lane if you're overtaking or turning right, or if you haven't yet had a safe opportunity to move left. A very common fail is to simply sit in the right hand lane without a good reason
@INTP I could have been. The left hand lane is marked 'All Routes'. But poor signage coming off the dual carriageway leads to many people treating it as a conventional roundabout when heading for the A38 Bristol. They take the middle lane and cut across the left hand lane coming off. I have personally been hit by a Range Rover doing this. Therefore I believe it safer to use the A38 Gloucester lane then move across to the left when it is safe.
Just past the garden centre there is a national speed limit sign on the left. Then there is a 60 sign just before Cross Keys. So treat it as 60 all the way.
@@thestammeringinstructor1456is there ever a time in the Glos routes where the speed limit is 70?? Is the national speed limit for all dual carriageways 60??
@benita2138 NSL on a dual carriageway is 70 in a car unless the road signs say otherwise. The only 70 stretch on Gloucester test routes is from the motorway to Cross Keys and you're not likely to make it that fast.
@thestammeringinstructor1456 well Gloucesters layout of roads is even worse than before now .interesting to say I'm holding a grudge against a town. Bit silly. There are many places in which people don't care to drive but it doesn't mean they have a grudge against the place.
Thank you for this video. I have my driving test in a week and this is the roundabout I'm concerned about.
Just take your time, choose the correct lane to begin with and make the effort to stay in your lane
Is this the same route for everybody?
thanks for posting this. legend.
Thanks for watching.
3:07 Why do you have to move back to the left here?

@@thestammeringinstructor1456 But why weren't you left in the first place

Hello what should be speed limit if we join A38 gloucester still 60 mph after we pass roundabout
Coming from the motorway side there is a 60 sign next to McDonalds and the A38 remains 60mph until just before the Bristol Road traffic lights.
Gloucester is a dump for driving.
Then book a test elsewhere. You have a whole country to choose from.
@@thestammeringinstructor1456 I passed in Gloucester in1987 so no need for me to return there thankfully. I'm allowed an opinion.
You are indeed. Seems a long time to hold a grudge against a place.
