    As a big guy not a big fan of small cars but my wife wanted this 2015 versa note SR I was very impressed with the leg room in this car I'm over 6ft tall and I can get in and out with no problem and I actually enjoy driving it. This car only take like 15-20 dollars to fill up depending on gas price but will go approximately 330 miles on that tank great economic car and comfortable and fun to drive

      Is there anything you or your wife do not like about the car? I am also considering the SR.

      +buildmorefarms100 not really we both really like the car the only complaint that I have is if you're a bigger person like myself have a passenger beside you there is not allot of wiggle room which is expected in a subcompact. also if you never driven a car with a CVT transmission it will take some getting used to once you get used to it you will like it makes it feel like you have more than 109 horsepower under the hood. hope this helps go to take one for a test drive I'm sure you'll take it home with you

      D Comz Thanks, I did drive one last saturday and loved it! Not sure if Im ready to trade my Mini Cooper on one yet though. Id really rather have a manual transmission on the SR. I hear the Versa is reliable and even good in snow.

    Really like the SR styling and overall design on this one. I bought a used 2011 Versa and use it for Uber. I've been really impressed with it. Tons of leg room! And storage. Incredible on gas! Sometimes i can't believe the needle doesn't move more. Feels like a hybrid sometimes. Engine wise.. not the most powerful but perfect in the city and once up to speed on the highway i can push it to 130-140 pretty easy. Excellent mileage on the highway. Great car! Would buy another.

    Despite some negative reviews I have read online (slow acceleration and cheap interior), I was very impressed by the Nissan note that I recently rented in Miami (2018). I'm not sure what sort of performance and luxury some people are expecting from a low-cost subcompact car, but we had 4 average-sized adults in it, plus luggage, and I was impressed by the acceleration (even with AC running!) for a subcompact car. I easily kept up with traffic on the freeways and highways, AND it was getting over 35 MPG. I could hardly believe it! Nissan itself has a very good reputation for quality, therefore I would not hesitate to buy one of these for transportation and everyday commuting.

    I rented a 2015 Nissan Note for 5 days here in Ontario. Drove it long distance on the highway as well as locally in my area (Cambridge, Ontario.) Very impressed. I was really surprised at how well it handled! Gas pedal was very responsive - peppy little car. Steering was also easy and responsive! The 1.6 4 cylinder really buzzed on the highway, but I actually like that in a car. It gives it character. Silent cars are boring! It should also be "noted" that the rental I drove was the exact model shown here in this video. It also had more than 360,000 KM's and still going strong and trouble-free! NO LIE! When I questioned the high mileage, the guy at the car rental place said this Nissan Note had travelled from Ontario to various places in the States 4 times and had also been driven across Canada! AWESOME little car! I highly recommend it.

      I agree, I rented this car for 2 days and really enjoyed it. I thought it was among the best steering feel cars out there even compared to sporty cars. Its so light and accurate. Every time I rent a car now I request this car.

    My best friend got a 08 Versa that he got brand new. He's got 125k on it now and the only thing he ever needed on it was a battery, and ride and drives pretty good and dare I say kinda peppy with the 1.8. It's the sl with the rarely seen spoiler and body skirts and soft touch doors. They kinda cheepin the new Versa in certain ways.

    When it comes to shopping in sub compact category, its best you shop within 16K range i.e Nissan Versa Note SV trim as you get the best car for your dollars.
    Upgrading it to SR/ SL trims, takes you near 19K -20 K which is compact car territory. You can get base trims of Sentra, Corrola, Civic etc in that money.
    And this is one of the main reason why versa outsells honda fit, cost of fit somewhere overlaps with Civic, corrola, sentra. So, even though Fit is the best sub compact, its not priced aggressively. Also one needs to understand the target buyer/ crowd for the cars. Versa and Fit are not targeted to the same set of people. This is reflected in their strategies, pricing, options in car, car build etc.

      We mentioned in the beginning of the review that the sub-compact class slots below the compact class which are vehicles like the Civic, Corolla, and Focus.

    Rather have a Mitsubishi Mirage with a better programmed Jatco CVT7 transmission. Both companies use it but Mitsu engineers mated theirs with much lower torque, curb weight of,2100lbs, and a 1.2 3 cylinder with only 74 hp. Way easier on the lil cvt.

    It is very fun to drive and makes you feel fast in manual if you rev it over 4000rpm for all the gears. The clutch is weird and makes the car shake even though i am not stalling or revving it at start.

    I have been renting one with less than 2000 miles on it from Enterprise for the past week, I had to find somewhere to tell people that even with the defroster blowing with A/C button pressed in cold central PA I have steamy and actual ice on the back seat windows even after driving for many hours. I called to re-up on the rental for another few days and told the rental agent of this odd problem and he told me in this cold 10's -20's weather all cars do that, well I have a 2001 beetle tdi, 1995 W/T 1500 PU and a '67 Barracuda and all defrost in any temp, this car has a defect, rent before you buy and see what I mean, the frost became dangerous it as so bad

    Hey Sofyan, nice review. I'm looking into purchasing my first car and I'm looking at new vehicles mainly because I'd be looking at a lease. More than likely I'll be browsing to get the best deal I can find on any certain vehicle. I'm not specific about any particular class of cars, I just need a car to get me from point A to point B in comfort (and to not have to walk everywhere). I have taken the Versa sedan and Versa Note into consideration. I was wondering if you ever have the opportunity, would you be able to do a review on a few specific vehicles? I have a list of which I would like to see reviews on if possible.
    Toyota Corolla/Yaris
    Honda Fit (2015)
    Mazda2 and/or Mazda5 (also looking into Mazda3)
    Jeep Renegade (once released)
    Nissan Cube/Juke
    Kia Forte
    I have many other cars in mind to browse, but these are just some of the ones that I'd like to see first-person, in-depth reviews on as you do typically quite well. Thank you for your time.

    HEY EVERYBODY: IF YOU HATE CVTs like I do, then go and buy yourself a Nissan Micra with a 4-speed automatic instead. Its basically EXACTLY LIKE THE VERSA NOTE, just a bit of a different body style, that's it. Plus its a few $ Thousand dollars cheaper too. I love the old-school automatic transmissions with gears instead of CVTs so I'd get the Micra instead of the Versa-Note.

    • @blintorzabat5798
      @blintorzabat5798 6 років тому +1

      Absolutely. CVTs are financial time bombs, which can't be repaired, but only replaced, at HIGH cost. I like this car, but would only buy it with a manual transmission. Or a conventional torque converter planetary gear box. But it is not offered with one of those, unfortunately.

      Think its a bit of an overblown issue. In these social media times, if someone experienced a problem with their car 20 years ago, people continue to talk about it and confirm each other, how bad this or that is. Also many people dont like the way, a CVT feel to drive, which can easily translate into an emotional opinion, that its unreliable.

    Just rented a Nissan Versa Note last week. This is a great handling FWD vehicle and it is a fantastic package - tiny 'footprint' w/huge interior. Friends who road in back couldn't believe the leg & headroom in such a small car. Negatives: 1) The brakes SUCK!!! Not very safe in that area, and 2) Grossly underpowered - it's a shame such a great handling vehicle is woefully underpowered. Needs about 50 more (Or MORE) HP to get the job done right.
    One last thing, how about a 6 spd. manual for each trim level. Come on NISSAN, you guys are supposed to be more exciting than Toyota!!!

My recommendation perfect car for friends family and commuting.

    At 8:20 --- your comment about the back seats not being flat when fold down is not incorrect. The bottom divider which Nissan markets it as a "Divide-N-Hide Adjustable Floor" was in the lower position when your video was shot. If you set the divider in the upper position, the trunk floor and the back seats will be on the same level and would be flat just like any normal car. In your video, there is clearly a set of grooves for the bottom divider mechanism.
    I like your video review but please pay close attention to details and the materials given by Nissan or there will be some unfair comparison/incorrect information being delivered to the audience. Nowadays, people rely on true and honest reviews of any products.
    Keep up the work...

    I'd say the Sonic is the current king of the subcompact class in terms of engine, transmission and ride quality with the 1.4L turbo LT trim. I get 41-43 MPG combined with my 1.4 turbo - that gives me 138HP, 148 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 time of 8.0 seconds with my manual transmission (blows the Note, Fiesta and Accent out of the water!). Ride quality is light years ahead of the 2015 Fit (test drove both back to back) and engine noise is wonderfully quiet (unlike the Fit) with just 1500 RPM at 55 MPH. You can get a 7" touch screen infotainment system, backup camera, power everything, fog lights, 16" alloy wheels, etc all for $16,400 (my price after rebates, etc) with the best in class safety ratings. Not sure why you didn't mention it as you also reviewed one previously!

      It really depends on what you're looking for. The Corolla is about 18 inches longer than the Versa Note (and even longer than most other subcompacts), and not everyone wants a car that big.

    • @Friendly0Dan
      @Friendly0Dan 10 років тому

      Not to mention Toyota did the CVT super well on the new Corolla's... Nissan still has droney, loud, rubber bandy annoying CVT's.

      @gaivoron 10 років тому +6

      I don't think that's the point. People who are looking for great mpg and price will look at versa, mazda2, fit, Rio, all of the subcompacts. They are in different class than corolla.

    first of all this is not the true hatchback version for the versa or tiida which is it's correct name, unfortunately the actually hatchback verison is not sold here, instead nissan brings over the Note which is a different car from the versa/Tiida and selling it has a version of the versa but its not, it a Nissan Note.

    I wasn't clear below, I want to say all windows were steamed up, the front window was clear 3/4 up the windshield and all other windows were fogged out majorly, I did find that cracking a window a little did clear them up but had to have heat full blast blowing defrost to keep warm which is not relaxing, I rent all kinds of cars and this one is brand spanking new so probably will happen with all new ones

    I have 2015 honda fit. The drivers seat is poorly designed and there is no armrest. The center console is too low.
    I am having back pain and planning on trading it.
    For comuting the versa is better in terms of support but it is less powerful than the fit.

      I dont't like the Fit either, something about the interior feels off. The console height and seat does not make for a connected feel. I like the older Honda Fits much better. Oh yeah, I think the Note is a great little car. A joy to drive.

    • @unexpected8377
      @unexpected8377 8 років тому

      cbr9927 in my opinion. The new fit is built for smaller body frame and moslty for women.
      I like the armest if Note. I hope Nissan brings the Note Nismo. Lol. I would definitely buy that.
      Even the HRV is the same.
      I normally replace my vehicle every 1 to 1.5 year and I like the new Armada, new Civic Hatch and outgoing Accord Special Edition.

  • @Friendly0Dan

    Sit in the front if you're tall, and you'll hate it. The driving position is horrific, and the only thing that would help is a TELESCOPING steering wheel instead of just tilting NISSAN... However, sit in the back seat of this car, and you'll love it. Its unbelievable how roomy Nissan makes there small cars!

      buildmorefarms100 I wouldn't recommend it for snow, I mean if you get yourself really good snow tires you may get by with a lite Winter, but I would still advise you not drive it in those conditions as it is really small and a lite vehicle.....However the new Yaris's now have tractions controls and more safety features but are still not as good on gas as the older models in my opinion.
