Andy, please do a video on how buying any solar generator helps make the planet green. I think when you add all the production CO2 and waste pollution the equation actually flips toward a propane generator that has a MUCH longer service life. Solar panels, electronics and batteries will eventually overflow landfills ! It’s Chinas way of exporting poison. Per kilowatt solar is a VERY poor player. I am a subscriber and enjoy your enthusiasm, but I find phrases like “ staying green” a easy way to circumvent the inconvenient truth.. no one has correctly calculated solars greenhouse contribution. I would like to see more videos for the average Joe that need the best ratio of investment to return. For instance grid tie inverters ( No Batteries or BMS ) and a methodology for utilizing solar production if the grid down ( maybe use a capacitor bank for clouds ) . My greatest contribution to a “green planet” is home automation and reducing my energy use. Great thanks for your videos ! They make me think 💭

It's pretty amazing to see all the negative comments. They're more a reflection of the commenters own likes, dislikes or insecurities than the video, especially as so many of them didn't even watch it.
To all those people, you're not required to comment, especially if the comment is uneducated (i.e. you didn't watch it). I bet you don't walk along the street and say "you're ugly" to everyone you don't personally find to be attractive, so why come here online and say negative things? Ah yes, it's because it's basically anonymous and the weak people use this platform to try bring others down to their level.
Andy is educating people, and doing it basically for free. If you paid for his time, you have a right to be upset. But you're not paying him, so just walk away if you don't like it. You have your own online profiles and friends to do your childish whinging to.
Some of us actually want to read comments that help, as opposed to sifting through micro tantrums.
Andy, it's good to see Oz reviews of things. And it's also good to know what's available here. Even though I'm not a fan of those types of items, there are some people who they are good for. Our prices are a killer though. Providing the reviews remain real, and the good and bad get spoken about, keep it up. Good work.
BTW. Did you test what happens when you exceed the maximum limits for each output? It'd be interesting to hear if it's very accurate, or if they built in a good size overhead.

It wasn't until you recently mentioned on Unplugged EV about off grid charging your Tesla that I found out about this channel. Watched them all to here so far and they are great to watch.
Anyway this video, I've searched the comments and no one has mentioned it? Maths! 460.1 to 462.0 is 1.9kWh not 0.9kWh! Looking forward to watching the rest of your series.

they can burn cause LiIon is dangerous and can selfignite / cause fire and did cause high damages in Germany, I mean the chemistry.
And Bluetti has design flaws inside you might not accept or tolerate in your own battery cause they saved money, but back to the start.
If you tear it down things might look different - at least here in Germany. In a tear down a Dr. Ing. has found out that the device has issues safetywise due to too small connectors, cables at least based on the specs bluetti promised to deliver. It needs bigger cables and also the cells were of unknown quality and brand - considering that these are Lithium Ion with the risk of burning.
    Do they burn ?
Yes, not these ones, but in germany we had recently scenic cloud batteries that had caused fires inside of houses with huge damages. The company had to admit the risks and change their system after more fires which means they had remotly changed sofrware and then the battery became far less useable due to smaller useable bandwith soc wise.
Andreas Schmitz does no reviews and warns everybody to offer him products for tests in advance that he will use and check it and tell the world how good or bad the products are. The manufacturer has to agree and Bluetti agreed on these terms and so he did one of his very few revies. Search for his channel, he does videos about saving battery, second life batteries from 18650 in the beginning to climate change and politics. He has over 100.000 subscribers cause some of his videos went viral which is a lot for a more or less technical channel about batteries and PV building, also recently about the heatiing system of his old house where he has changed the heating to split phase air conditioners to use as heatpump to heat from his solar power system.
You know it is not for those only english speaking unless they learn german but you might get it what he is ttalking about. He is a researcher / Scientist of the DLR laboratory but not working on space project afaik. But he shows a lot of research topics like break throughs ahead as he covered perowskite minerals for solar power panels and a lot of other stuff. Good spot for new inspirations to share with your english speaking audience.
He also does experiments and ruined a Li Ion battery of 18650 he had built from used cells years ago from 2000 cells or so. He had to move, took the battery out of the system and stored it. But over the months it killed itself totally, dead while in storage and charged well before to 50% or so. What had cause the issue ? Well , he had his own BMS build from wemos connected to a pi which uses a tiny amount of energy where the battery can rest a year or more. But he had overlooked a tiny point he was not aware of. Once he had withdrawn the battery he also powered off the Pi, the mother of his 14 or 16 BMS controllers on each string. Nothing big. Just that. And it killed his so hard built battery.
    Why ?
Well, the powered string Wemos ran crazy cause if they lost a connection, they give all they have to gain the connection back and their power consumption therefore is exploding. At the end they got everything out of their string till the batteriy / cells reached 0,1 V or so. Dead.
Might be interesting for you to watch and train your german skills too beyong bombenfest and bombensicher. His battery was not stored bombensicher so might be worth to watch.
Thanks for sharing your bluetti results even though I prefer if you built such on your own, maybe bigger, more expensive, but then you know what you get for your money and can later on reuse the cells or balancer or bms if you need bigger one and so on.
Here Bluetti has become a Schimpfwort due to the sales power and pressure they spent which they did not spend so much in engineering and production. Eco flow are a lot better but far more expensive.
All the best for the new series about the 20 to 80 myth check regarding LFP.

Hi Cloggy, I was wondering if you could inform me whether you could add an extender battery (i.e. home made 12.8V 304Ah QSO) by plugging it into the solar input and thus extent the Bluetti 200 from 1.8kWh to 5.7kW?
I thought this could be a interesting test, because it would enable both the discharge via the Bluetti and recharge by the solar cells via the Bluetti..
    Your thoughts? ;)

I'm starting to work my way through all your videos as I intend to research solar and batteries so I can transition to an off-grid system of my own in my farm near Kennilworth. Question: have you done (or considered doing) a video outlining how to calculate the battery size required to go off grid taking into account system size, seasonal differences and the typical loads at a home?

A lot of hit and miss reviews on the original AC200P’s. Down to dodgy cells I hear
Will Prowse, along with your good self, give the EB150 a good review
Ideal for full time van life I think. As you say, they are just plug and play units.
Out of warranty problems and the fact that Bluetti appear to be online only would leave you in the lurch though.

I'm using mine daily now and charge it solely from solar, using the energy later inside the house or for the pump or for my other battery testers, the lights inside the garage and to charge batteries when I'm out in the field. I really like the size of the battery and the ease of use. A bit heavy though for a handy and mobile solution.

Can it replace the battery of you solarshed......? Can it charge your Tesla and/or power the shed?
Australia is not a developing country, just a smaller market and Maxoak is based in Europe so that is why.
10 A input at 60 volt.... so 600 watt instead of stated 500 watt?? .....
USB-C 45 watt only..... my macbook pro 2015 says no.....
    Li-ion not Lifepo4....... hmmm bummer
6:25 are you saying you should have created in your house the same as in the garage, not to go off-grid totally but for when grid goes out? Can you use the panels on the house during a power-outage? You might want to place a 1-2-both-off switch on a few panels to be able to direct/share that power with a backup-battery in the house..... I must admit, running a cable from the garage is an option too ;-)
Charging from the grid at 211 watt? That is not what you want when grid goes on and off for only few hours, rolling blackouts.
E008.... I don't want to receive that error, device should self balance the cells....
60 volt input for solar is great as you can connect any solar panel and if you have multiple, even in parallel.

I’m guilty of not watching the entire video. I find these devices entirely too expensive and subject to fault. It’s like that old radio shack entertainment system that blows a power supply while recording your favorite cd to tape. A single failure bricks the unit. In those days you could replace a regulator or something and make it work again. Today you need to get a new PCB board ! I saw a video that compared the power density in lithium battery’s to a gallon of gas, it is hands down a much better deal to either buy a portable gas generator. If you have spare money and want to pretend that your saving the planet buy separate components and create your own power station.
