This is why when I become an animator of my own cartoon series, I want action and perfectly timed and SMART comedy in my show/s. I just wish that in the future, I won’t be the ONLY cartoonist in the animation industry who still cares for action, meaningful plots, and brilliant writing.
Christina Miller i think is one of those people who think cartoons are or should be like the 80s and 70s child friendly and to sell merchandise. No one wants to remember the 70s and early 80s era of cartoons
It wasn’t Christina Miller really. By the time Synder left, Ben 10: Omniverse was the only action show left (and even that show was more comedy than the other ones prior to it). As great as the early 2010s were for the network, the success of the comedies soon made it to where the action shows weren’t a priority for the network.
I hate the argument that action cartoons don't appeal to kids and don't make money. Yeah that's why Ben 10 (OG to Omniverse) was basically their Spongebob. That show was mature and dark and had fascinating lore, great characters and action and sold tons of merch and got movies.
Christina Miller probably thinks action cartoons are too violent for kids. Its sad to see what Cartoon Network has become. I remembered they had an action block called Saturday Video Entertainment System, which had a great line-up of action cartoons that were all 22 minutes long.
How dare Christina Miller go against Action shows on CN!? Stu Snyder got Action shows to CN. But were taken away! They were aimed at The Teenagers kids!
cartoonnetwork.wikia.com/wiki/Christina_Miller Here's something interesting I discovered . Before her Cartoon Network days, Christina Miller worked at HIT Entertainment, known for preschool properties like Bob The Builder and Barney The Dinosaur. I'm not going to say that she supports the animation age ghetto, but this is probably why many people think that Cartoon Network has skewed too young these days.
BlythePennyBicycle21 if that’s the case she might as well go back to working for HIT Entertainment because she doesn’t give a damm about Cartoon Network
It honestly makes so much sense. She's most likely that one parent thinks kids can't understand mature content and that it could teach them "bad lessons"
Cartoon Network also doesn't know how to sell Nostalgia. Nickelodeon knows how to sell Nostalgia. The 90's Are All That/ The Splat, 90's night,The Nick Box, and the upcoming Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life and Invader Zim TV Movies. As far as I'm concerned Nickelodeon is the King of selling Nostalgia.
J Turner ikr CN needs to take notes if it has any chance of competing with nick. They could've greenlit Galactic Kids Next Door and the Courage The Cowardly Dog revival but CN denied it. Super dumb
Very good video!! I honestly think the reason we have a lack of action cartoons is that they're too expensive to make and probably weren't making them enough money. Now that could be Cartoon Networks fault for not marketing these shows better. And that's why so many of these good actions shows have gotten cancelled. See what happened to Young Justice, Sym Bionic Titan, Green Lantern the Animated Series, Star Wars Clone Wars, ThunderCats (2011), Secret Saturday's, and Generator Rex. All good action cartoons cancelled. Say what you want to say about Stuart Syder, but at least some of the shows I named here he gave to us. (or Christina Miller probably just doesn't like action cartoons.) I don't understand why Cartoons Network has to just be comedy. Because what if a kid doesn't want to watch shows like Teen Titans GO!? What if he wants shows like Young Justice? Variety is the key to making a great Network. And that's probably one of the reasons why their ratings are low, and thats do to the lack variety. Christina Miller needs to step down now. And their needs to be someone with a better vision then her. But as for now, we're stuck with her.
can you do why Nickelodeon Hate's Ren and me hello we brought you amazing ratings but you only aired are show 2 times in August really bring are show back
RedWolf316 Amen dude. This is why it pisses me off how they keep saying TTG is "your new favorite show" despite it being one of the most despised shows in history. Even kids are starting to getting sick of it. I miss when CN in its prime had variety not just in TV shows but it's genre and content. While they had great comedies like Ed Edd n Eddy and Johnny Bravo they also had Justice League, Static Shock and the original Teen Titans Honestly in the early half of the 2010s it felt like CN was getting its act together and had loads of variety. Not only did they have good shows that were ACTUALLY FUNNY like Regular Show and Gumball but they had the DC Nation block which had Green Lantern, Young Justice Oh it's SO not like Adventure Time or Regular Show were their most popular cartoons and definitely not people's favorite. Yet CN is ignoring them
RedWolf316 I do miss Betty Cohen and Jim Samples. Those two knew how to run a network and show passion in it programming and they actually treated their audience with intelligence and respect
its bull shit that people think that kid shows should be stupid because kids don't care what they watch, its just an accuse to profit from cheaply written and cheaply animated shows that do more to sell merch then to entertain
I hope Michael Ouweleen brings back the action shows for Cartoon Network still Cartoon Network can be family-friendly but they're not allowed to put tv-14 stuff but they wouldn't want to make it more mature and like more violent like gruesome like blood it'll just be regular action like like tvy7 or tv-pg just for violence but not like gruesome violence like blood or anything it's more mature that actually for a lot more order like 18 years old or 14 over as well as no TV MA TV shows allowed on Cartoon Network he can make it family-friendly on Cartoon Network with children stuff with a younger audience as well the most along with older audience who like action shows but we don't want it to be too violent and to gruesome for Cartoon Network.
Yeah you're right Cartoon Network has to bring back action shows Sym Bionic Titan Revival Generator Rex Ben 10 not the Reboot Star Wars Young Justice And so many more
I remember they had Teen Titans Young Justice Ben 10 Ben 10 Alien Force and Ultimate Alien Xialon Showdown Kids Next Door Secret Saturday's Batman the Brave and The Bold Justice league Code lyoko Pokemon Bakugan Samurai Jack Dragonball z Naruto One Piece Bobbobobo Generator Rex Bro they had so much heat
CN Died In 2014,Even When There Was CN Real,They Didn't Overplay It Constantly Like Teen Titans Go,They Actually Had Variety With Both Cartoons And Live Action Shows,Many Good Shows Like Adventure Time,Regular Show,Dude,What Would Happen,Destroy,Build Destroy,Pokemon Anime,Bakugan,Justice League Unlimited,Young Justice,Star Wars:The Clone Wars,Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.And Lots More
Lego Ninjago was one of the action shows on Cartoon Network until 2021 after 2020 because they decided not to bring Lego Ninjago on Cartoon Network and Ninjago went to be on Netflix
If they should bring back action shows in Cartoon Network and My Dad The Bounty Hunter is Family-Friendly action show is a good example for Netflix and they need action shows back on Cartoon Network and the same time to be Family-Friendly for Cartoon Network.
It’s the same story with Nickelodeon it’s because parents think that action shows are too violent for their kids to watch so the producers and higher ups dumb the shows down
Well we do, it’s Transformers robots in disguise and justice league action. Both are good but only run once a week. They need more anime too. Cartoon Network Mexico still has action shows because they get better treatment and still airs pokemon in Cartoon Network Mexico
The reason action shows haven't been as prevalent on Cartoon Network is because of two factors: poor management and high production costs. Then again, that's a given for virtually any action show, or anything with complex action sequences. Let me elaborate. 1. Action shows are expensive to make due to the complex action sequences from any fights and explosions. This is why they need strong merchadise sales to make up for it, whether it's stuff like clothes, toys, and DVD/digital sales. This doesn't even only apply to action shows made with kids in mind. It can also apply to adult action shows. For example, while not a Cartoon Network property or a show for that matter, the 2009 animated Wonder Woman movie had very low DVD sales despite positive reception, hence why plans for a sequel were canned. 2. The poor management can be seen even before Christina Miller. The original Justice League cartoon was only shown during the Toonami block with little reruns. In its final years, it aired on a Saturday night at 6pm, which is an awkward slot. The original Powerpuff Girls was screwed over after the 2002 movie bombed, along with Craig McCracken moving on to create another show. I mean, when you look at action shows on the network both in the past and present, they always premiere in the morning or evening, never in the afternoon, unlike most CN shows.
Sorry for the late reply, but I want to respond with something. Apparently, before becoming Cartoon Network president, Christina Miller was only in charge of the channel's digital department. Now that she's president, she's essentially doing what she does in the digital department, but since she has more power, she's spreading it over the whole channel by making many shows available digitally before tv due to how digital services are becoming more normal. As for why action shows (or pretty much anything for older kids) is treated poorly, I'd say it's a Legend Of Korra scenario in that she knows there's more of a desire for them among older kids, hence the push for digital services.
Blythe PennyBicyle21 So she was a bad choice from the beginning? Also, i get why Networks are pushing for Digital Services but that doesn't mean people don't watch the main network. Plus the Legend Of Korra scenario was because Nickelodeon wanted to burn off the remaining episodes without airing it on TV.
Adult Swim is worse then live action shows because it is still on a kids network regardless of whether it is a sparate block or not. That slot which adult swim has should be the block for old cartoons. I am not against Adult Swim or anything but it should have its own channel or be moved somewhere else which is not a kids network.
I checked the Schedule, and I saw that Cartoon Network is airing reruns of Regular Show On November 13th-17th from the very beginning, but its only airing at 7-8am, please make a video about it.
Generator Rex was another action show that made up the action shows of the network. Cartoon Network has outright ignored their teen demographic that like action shows. They made up like half of their demographic, now Cartoon Network is struggling just to get people to WATCH their shows. I mean, they absolutely RUINED the 25th anniversary by not even doing anything besides 1 short, terrible animation that was absolutely disrespectful to all the previous creators that worked for the network.
Personally I think it's because of shows like Adventure Time. Don't get me wrong, I love that show but it started a trend of other shows being more comedy based and having a very similar artstyle. And since Adventure Time was so successful than it would make sense for why Cartoon Network would try to replicate that same formula. Also tv is kinda a dying medium and more action shows that are plot-centric are being produced online. Like the Voltron reboot on Netflix for example. I think comedies would be more successful on a network in today's modern world where people have a lower attention span, explaining for the 11 minute episodes and once again being focused on comedy with virtually no plot. No plot means that viewers can jump into a show at any episode as oppose to some action shows which you have to watch in a numerical order to understand. Lastly, TTG, PPG (2016), and Ben10 (2016) are making Cartoon Network bank. Especially TTG. As much as everyone hates it, you cannot deny that the show is popular and making money. I'm not saying it's good, I'm just saying that people don't understand that it's making Cartoon Network lots of money. So it makes complete sense to air and renew more seasons. Honestly I think reboots get a bad rap, some are good and can breathe new life into a forgotten franchise. But these seem like they were made only for making money. Those are my thoughts.
Noah Gates-Avery ahh yeah. I loved those two, but I felt bad for Miguzi getting killed off because people were complaining of how the block replaced Toonami on weekdays.
Because in Early 2013/ Late 2012, action shows were not doing well. So they thought action shows should be gone from the network, so bam, especially how TTG Left a mark on it now.
They should stop selling toys because no kid wants a stupid toy anymore. They all want video games and parents won't buy their kids toys either because they'll just get left on the floor.
spikebaron Yeah that's why Ben 10 (classic to Ultimate Alien) sold tons of merch and was their most popular show! Ben 10 was an action cartoon that was dark and treated their audience with respect. It gave a fascinating world and lore and great characters. Alien Force along set ratings records for CN and Race Against Time set the record for highest viewing ever in CN with 4 million views! The problem is how CN puts them in bad time slots is and doesn't advertise them at all!
my cartoon network schedule Relax-o-Time: This Is The Time Where No Story deep Show Are Aired Because Its Right Now School 1 Pm-3 Pm: Classicals (Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Sheep In The Big City, Foster's Home) 4 Pm-5 Pm: TTG (kill me if u want) (10 Minutes Before Back From School) Hidden Files: Showing Facts And Trivia abouts Cartoon Network Shows Back From School: The Time Where Stuff Starts 6 Pm: Gumball 7 Pm: Flapjack 8 Pm: KND (10 Minutes Before Ultra Speedway) CN News: Will Tell You About the Newest CN News Ultra Speedway: Time For Action 9 Pm: Ben 10 Omniverse 10 Pm: Scooby Doo Mystery Incoprated 11 Pm: Cartoon Cienema: CN Movies 12 Am: The Golden Muesem ( Ben 10, Gumball, Adventure Time, Dexter's Lab, KND) (10 Minutes Before Adult Swim) Warning, Adults Incoming: Tells ya "hey dont go to watch adult swim if you're 18-" 1 Am - 12 Pm: Adult Swim
This the reason why I hate Cartoon Network nowadays. Ever since Ben 10 Omniverse, Young Justice, Tenkai Knights, Green Lantern the animated series, Generator Rex and Star Wars the clone wars has ended there has not even been one good action show. I am sorry to upset fans but Justice League action is a Justice joke to JLU/JL so is the new Ben 10 series and Teen Titans Go they nothing like the originals. I don’t really care about PPG 2016 because I never saw the original and the new one makes me want to vomit. You guys complaining about what Disney XD has with the Marvel shows (Marvels Spiderman, Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the galaxy) and Star Wars Rebels even though I don’t like that show. You are lucky there are still action shows on there which have actual fighting unlike Cartoon Network maybe you guys should think about that? I am not forcing you to watch Disney XD. But in these current circumstances I am just going ask which one would you rather watch Cartoon Network or Disney XD?
Did anyone forget about all of the very young kids? You know, the 5 year olds? They like stupid stuff because they fit the demographic (like I used to like G3 and G3.5 MLP). Maybe Cartoon Network should make another channel for the teens or something. I'm a 13 year old, but I know what I'm saying.
LPS Monsterpawz Kids deserve shows that treat them with respect. Shows like Ben 10, Danny Phantom, Last Airbender, Batman TAS which were also really successful. I'm only 15 but I've never in my life ever liked stupid comedies like TTG. Kids hate being kids, that's why RoboCop 3 bombed. Kids aren't stupid. They deserve good programming. Shows like Secret Saturdays, Generator Rex, Omniverse, Young Justice and Green Lantern needed better time slots and advertising.
My CN Schedule: 7 AM Adventure Time 8 AM Adventure Time 9 AM Adventure Time 10 AM Adventure Time 11 AM Adventure Time 12 PM Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. 1 PM Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. 2 PM Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. 3 PM Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. 4 PM Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. 5 PM Adventure Time 6 PM Adventure Time 7 PM Adventure Time

I care :)
You should probably make good ben 10 series that has cool action , art style and animation
Christina Miller i think is one of those people who think cartoons are or should be like the 80s and 70s child friendly and to sell merchandise. No one wants to remember the 70s and early 80s era of cartoons
Hey, G1 Transformers was the shit back then dude
It wasn’t Christina Miller really. By the time Synder left, Ben 10: Omniverse was the only action show left (and even that show was more comedy than the other ones prior to it). As great as the early 2010s were for the network, the success of the comedies soon made it to where the action shows weren’t a priority for the network.
For those of you who believe that kids still love action cartoons, you're completely right. That's a reason Shonen Anime is popular.
I hate the argument that action cartoons don't appeal to kids and don't make money. Yeah that's why Ben 10 (OG to Omniverse) was basically their Spongebob. That show was mature and dark and had fascinating lore, great characters and action and sold tons of merch and got movies.
When i was a child Cartoon Network was my favourite Cartoon channel until 2011 because of action shows
Christina Miller probably thinks action cartoons are too violent for kids.
Its sad to see what Cartoon Network has become.
I remembered they had an action block called Saturday Video Entertainment System, which had a great line-up of action cartoons that were all 22 minutes long.
Lord of Darkness Then she's a idiot.
Amen
You'd think with the success of Samurai Jack would knock some sense into those idiot execs that action cartoons can still be successful
Carl Bloke You really would think that.
Lord of Darkness They need to Band her from CN.
Xiaolin Showdown, and Jackie Chan Adventures my childhood
My heart feels thst
This Is Why There Are No TV-PG-V Shows On CN.All Of Them From 2008-2013(SWTCW,Generator Rex,Young Justice,Sym Biotic Titan) Were Action Shows
Action shows was why I liked cartoon Network in the first place
Nowadays, Disney XD is the channel with all the action show like anime, marvel shows and star wars
Agreed!
this didn't age well
But that's a problem
Why is it that CN has no shows but TTG.
It's so sad to see what Cartoon Network has become
How dare Christina Miller go against Action shows on CN!?
Stu Snyder got Action shows to CN. But were taken away! They were aimed at The Teenagers kids!
That's stupid

Yes they are. Even if JLA has a compressed time slot, it's still an action show.

Yeah Bring back action shows and get rid of Christina Miller.
If anything Cartoon Network still relies on fantasy, adventure, and slice of life shows
Most new comedy shows aren’t popular
Too costly to make...Not selling enough toys...Too many teens/girls watching...
spikebaron precisely. That's the reasons they gave for cancelling Young Justice even though it was widely popular!
They should stop selling toys because no kid wants a stupid toy anymore. They all want video games and parents won't buy their kids toys either because they'll just get left on the floor.

Action Shows are Modern Shonen Anime
I wish I was born in your time I did not get the good shows
Isn't 'Adventure Time' an action?
Not really
More of an adventure time and fantasy
Nate Adams at least with those Marvel shows their still action show and do offer variety
zilla universe That is what I mean
How about Netflix with TrollHunters and Voltron?
West Coast Emerald Bull and Stretch Armstrong and the flex fighters.
What ever happen to Tenkai knights anyway
maybe their just trying to give comedy shows a chance to shine. action shows so seem to have seem to get to much attention.
I think Teen titans go ain’t an action show it is Just people whacking stuff and stupid reasons to fight
JosiahGamer777 more of a comedy show
new shows bad i stop watching my most favorite channel in 13 they got rid of Toonami cartoon network cartoon theatre
Teen titans go I never like old titans was more serious
Did anyone forget about all of the very young kids? You know, the 5 year olds? They like stupid stuff because they fit the demographic (like I used to like G3 and G3.5 MLP). Maybe Cartoon Network should make another channel for the teens or something. I'm a 13 year old, but I know what I'm saying.
LPS Monsterpawz No that's why there should be Variety.
+J Turner
What I'm saying is the younger kids like the stupid stuff so I think they should make a second channel for the teens like Nick did
LPS Monsterpawz
Kids deserve shows that treat them with respect.
Like bruh this is why people think cartoons are for kids lmao
Cartoon Network in hindi language pls thenkyo
Donald trump will fire every one on cartoon network
Ben 10 reboot is a action show it’s just a Funny show at the same time

I don’t think so
We need stuart snyder back
i hate cartoon network now
She's not doing a good job at cartoon network.
Why do you think that?
Because she's not giving the channel enough variety.
Oh i thought you said she was doing a good job.
J Turner i made a mistake in comment the first time.
japan96 Oh okay I forgive you.
I swear Chrstina Miller is one bad mother.
Nexus258 as in the overprotective one that wouldn't allow kids to watch The Avengers because it's PG-13?
