For those wondering, it's actually rather difficult to proc Deathblight with these things. It requires well over 1000 damage (which most players need to heal for since nobody levels Vigor) over the course of a 30 second buff. Additionally, the meta is currently Arcane builds, and Arcane does increase Death Resistance, making it almost impossible to land sometimes. Its only saving grace is the WA follow up, which fills up well over half of the meter but is slow as shit and Oro specifically built his Physick (magic damage restores health and enhanced poise tears) to just allow for its application, and even then the target still requires to be braindead to get hit.

Man, Deathblight is just so satisfying to see even if you're being effected by it. We really need more weapons/spells that (slightly) provide its effect. While it does seem a bit broken to give players access to a Curse/Petrification equivalent, it's still cool to see.
Honestly your victims.. Excuse me your chosen vessels should feel honored to be enraptured by the blight of death and not run away or hide behind those blind to death's awe inspiring beauty..
Unfortunately, the new 1.07 patch's dual-wield status build-up nerf has killed the shotels melee deathblight build-up. While still possible to apply, it is now pathetic. Before, the constant depletion of Deathblight made it take longer to apply on anyone who runs or dodges effectively (and from my experience, No, deathblight doesn't seem to add up through rolls unlike with other weapons). This made it inherently harder to apply the more people evaded. But, that wasn't much different than taking regular hits to the face and dying quicker anyways. Now, dual-wielding (which used to be the main way to make the shotels viable), now does about half or so the amount of build up, at least from what i've seen. It's bad... Eclipse Shotels' Deathblight got nerfed seemingly accidentally, and most people either don't realise that the shotels were far from OP (stupid YT "Deathblight is OP" vids don't help this), or people like Lost don't want to buff the shotels' status build-up because it's a touchy thing to boost. A shame, and i hope it gets buffed to fix this in a way. Deathblight no dmg shotels were fun, challenging, but didn't overwhelm people, it just tested their combat skill and even running or evading enough was a viable way to recover. As i'd describe it: Unforgiving, but lenient.
*Oroboro* Might I add, you can also build up Death status with Death Lightning. Combining that incantation with dual Eclipse Shotels, you WILL become unstoppable.
I didn’t want to make a death build because the dmg, I did it because the mausoleum soldiers are cool as hell. Reminds me of Sleepy Hollow, cause it has the headless knight.

I'm pretty sure they debuffed the Death Blight buildup on the Eclipse Shotels since the 1.05 parch. Out of 30 invasions, I have yet to get Death Blight to trigger even once, as players will die long before the condition takes effect.
If we pop a Crimsonwhorl Bubble tear Physik and get hit by an attack doing split damage, we'll heal for almost the same damage as we take from the attack. I don't know the exact percentage of non-physical damage healed per hit but it's quite a lot - looks to be around 50% of the elemental damage from observation. This means out of an ex. 500 split damage attack, the attack only effectively does maybe 125 per hit (500/2) - (250 * 0.5). As an added bonus, taking spells to the face lacking a physical component actually just heals us. =) Against ex. Moonveil and other Ashes with a magical effect it's even better as we can tank the split damage AND heal extra from the Ash effect.
