17:36 "But don't worry... we're going to vary his depth for him." Damn that's cold. Love it.
yeah, it's as cold as the waters they're sailing in
No....Just no. That's just bad xD
+Fireflux
it was worth a try though...
...well, unless Jingles notices this and sends me down to the deeper pits of the salt mines.
"Double the quota for any man who makes a pun as abysmal as that!"
"But we already have infinite quotas....."
"TO ZE KONCENTRATION KAMP WITH YOU!"
=P
I made a note of that when I heard it. Glad to see I didn't have to scroll down at all to see someone point it out :)
Russians: “We have found a submarine!”
Jingles: “Congratulations you’ve found a submarine. Question. Have any of you ever been on a submarine?”
Russians: “Ummm….no.”
Jungles: *”WouLd YOu lIkE tO?”*
A LazyTown reference on a Jingles video, a match made in heaven 😁
I like imagining what the staff meetings must be like in the Red Banner HQ after missions like this. I know if I were the premier, I'd be the Oprah of one-way tickets. "And *you* go to the gulag! And *you* go to the gulag! EVERYONE GOES TO THE GULAG!"
AardvarkLord they did have someone like that at one point.... his name was Stalin and the time you speak of were the infamous purges.
Jokes apparently aren't for everyone.
wasn't it more off "And you get executed, And YOU get executed, everyone gets executed" tho?
+MehrumesDagon Sure some of them got publicly executed, the more to encourage the others, after all. But many of the people and families that were purged under Stalin were actually just rounded up and taken somewhere and "never heard from again".
You'd be sitting in a vodkashop or bar or even at home, and some guy (or two or maybe even three) would sit down next to you, or at your table, or knock on your door, and you'd get up with him, put your coat on, walk out the door, get in his car, and that would be it. Your family, neighbors, friends and co-workers would never know what happened, where you went, or (oftentimes) even what you did. You just... well, ... "never came back". Sometimes your entire family "never came back", and the next thing your neighbors know, some guys are packing up your house and moving all your stuff out. Never to be seen again.
Gulag for all you Deviationists!
Yes Mr Kashin, you went looking for a submarine. Congratulations, you found one! Love it!
jingles doesnt need a bulletproof vest, he just puts his medals on
dannypeck666 there is only one gun that can penetrate jingles belly
+Nick Karsten (NickName__) comrade kv-2? 😆 *runs quickly*
Perhaps that’s how he got the name jingles
@@mattheuston9363 aaaaaaaaaahahah
Protect the convoy they said
It'll be easy they said
We have this new radio locator technology they said
C92 is full of escort support they said
You'll be captain of the HMS Bury they said
The Type XXI was designed to be primarily a submarine instead of a submersible, but they arrived too late and in too small numbers to really affect the course of the war.
Yes, but the Americans and Soviets were impressed with the design and based their further submarine development on them.
French as well.
caphalor08 Well i think the type XXVII was to late in war and well there weren t many of them or did you know that there are type XXVII submarines?
Type XXVII was meant for a more coastal defensive role no?
If the XXI was then so was the R class or I-201 Class
Ahhh yes lets see if another jingles landing occurs
That was so intense, i want to watch the "Hunt for Red October" again...
There goes my afternoon. Thanks Jingles....
¨Yeah Jingles and Cold Waters is like a match made in heaven
Next mission is The Hunt for Red October, so don't put your VHS too far away!
Jingles, the helicopter you were wondering about was a Kamov Ka-27pl (asw version) Helix. In-game it carries up to 4 torpedoes. Usually carries 2 torps for regular patrol but they probably topped that load up to 4 by landing on the Udaloy as soon as they detected you. To minimze the danger of asw helicopters all hangar-equipped surface vessels should be priority targets. However in this situation the other escorts were in front of the most important one so I understand you sinking those first. Love the Cold Water series, keep it up!
Jingles, you were not detected by a helicopter but by the active sonar of a ship or a submarine. If you look at the top right of the screen at 1:29, you will see a symbol that says: "Captain, we were spotted by an active sonar. Basically, RUN !"
Don't blame choppers all times !
Dipping sonars can ping.
Dipping sonars. That said, Krivaks and Udaloys can fire SS-N-14 Silex, and they have a helicopter that's telling them where the submarine is.
Set your torpedoes to passive sonar when going after surface ships, especially in noisy weather. This allows you to activate them early without alerting the target of the torpedo via active sonar. This also goes for noisy submarines like Novembers
So when are we expecting more of this? I miss this series more than anything else Jingles does.
Two years later, I am wondering same.
The developers should totally make a multiplayer game mode. That would be awesome!!!
Just yesterday I was playing Cold waters. As missions go, i was just ordered to sink ballistic submarines heading for arctic cap. No problem, contacts are on the map, plot course to intercept. Sure enough, few hours later, i found contact S1. Expected target is ssbn and one or more escorts.
Fair enough, load torpedoes and lets get to it. One contact at 20KYD, depth roughly 200 feet, no duct, no thermal layer, few icebergs. Mission begins, no contact. Lets take this slow at 5 kts, close to last known position.
15 kyd, dead silence. Ambient noise level is ad 84dB. 12 kyd, still nothing. Lets zig zag a bit, maybe sonar will pick something. Did i imagine things? 10 kyd, combat center goes haywire:
Contact S2, bearing 079, contact classified as submerged submarine. Range 1.4 kyd! Weapon in the water. Weapon in the water. Contact S3, bearing 098, contact classified as submerged submarine. Weapon in the water. Range 1.8 kyd.
At that point bricks were shat. Full speed ahead, drop noise maker. Snap torpedo at closest submarine. Too slow, I was going at 5kts and didnt accelerate in time. One torpedo struck at starboard and hit reactor chamber.
Hull at 34%, propulsion is out of order. First good news, S2 was hit and sunk, however second torpedo was still in the water and it just gained a lock.
Hurry, guys, get that reactor back in order. Drop another noisemaker. It fooled the torpedo again. I think i just won the jackpot, it found the wreck of victor i just sank.
Torpedo in the water. That ssbn just fired rocket propelled torpedo and its going for me now.
Propulsion is up! Snap decoy away from the combat area, fire remaining 3 torpedoes in last known locations of the enemy and full speed ahead. No depth to manouver. Lets get close to that wreck.
Thrid torpedo went for the decoy. One mk 48 fond the second victor. Last enemy standing, its that pesky ssbn. Another rocket launched torpedo. Lets drop the torpedo evasion beat.
Those torps fortunately dont have lot of fuel and i managed to outrun them long enough to get a little bit of breathing space and get my own torpedo away. Few seconds later it found its target.
Rig ship for ultra quiet. No more contacts. Lets leave the mission.
Congratulations, this was your mission target. Admiral was indeed very pleased.
And after this stunt the soviet union capitulated, falling into civil war. Job well done, if I say so myself.
Thanks for the shoutout to the RCN and the Battle of the Atlantic CMDR. Remembrance Day is this Saturday. For WW2 convoys coming from Boston and NY, Halifax was the main staging area before crossing the pond. And if you we're torpedoed during the crossing forget about getting rescued, they left you behind. Protecting the convoy was #1 priority.
*in a western cowboy accent*
"S3 Kanin came back looking for trouble. Trouble he found and quite badly indeed."
Though this is a game I'd never play, watching Jingles play it is both entertaining and relaxing. The little bits of knowledge about the Cold War era navy scattered through the video are also great. Keep up the great work, o mighty Gnome Overlord.
One of the best series he's done so far :)
Same, I have no interest in playing this one but it's very interesting to watch.
Evan Ulven
I played for a while but the campaign is too short for a non online game.
as far as this miner is concerned i for one like the format Jingles, i dig the commentary+music you got going on with these last 2 coldwaters vids. Keep it up my good sir!
Thanks jingles. Really enjoyed the video today. Cold waters is great with you’re commentary over the top
Jingles I listen to your cold waters videos to lul me to sleep. Something's just so calming about them
"he is the guy in charge" best laugh i had in weeks :D
I'm really enjoying these Cold Waters videos Jingles. Keep up the great work. :)
Very well done. I even like the back ground music, it fits the situation.
Came here recommended by Jive Turkey, subbed. You have a nice original voice and You dont scream in the beginning of Your video. Adult. Cheers.
Love Cold Waters!
Oh my god, I was surprised when Jingles started talking. I had queued up several videos, and had forgotten what I had queued up. I was expecting Jive Turkey's voice.
Most of the time I grab some food to watch your Cold Waters videos. This time I was already making some and when I came back in front of my laptop I saw this upload. Great timing, Paul ;)
You know, I dont play Cold Waters (yet), but these videos are so good I watch them all :)
These cold water videos are by far the most enjoyable videos you make sir, something i never thought id be interested in that just grabbed me by the neck and forced me to like it! i cant get enough of it Jingles. keep up the good work.
As a lover of submarine movies, Jingles Cold Waters videos are the next best thing!
Turkey shoot? Its not even Christmas yet!
could be thanksgiving
Maybe He's gonna cold smoke it
I always drink a Shot when Jingles says Mark48....I will need a new liver soon.
I frakken love the Battlestar Galactica like music you used in this one Jingles.
36 minute video from Jingles
Always good to see a long one made by him. Miss the old days of the channel
Jingles video is the best cure for a headache
" Yes Mr. Kashin, you went looking for a submarine. Congratulations, *you found one* !" Quite possibly my favourite Jingles quote ever.
I APPROVE OF THE MUSIC JINGLES! THANK YOU
The one UA-cam series I hope doesn't end! Love watching this 👌🏻👍🏻
I am loving this series, it’s been a while since any UA-cam video series had made me drop whatever I’m doing as soon as I see it. Can’t wait for the RN boats!
Yay a cold waters video on my birthday. Thank you jingles
It’s funny, every Thursday I go sailing in the afternoon, and every Thursday Jingles uploads cold waters, let’s just hope my sailing doesn’t go into cold waters...
HI Jingles, thanks for all the fun videos! If you zoom in on the minimap, you can see the direction of travel of the evil torps. This helps evade them. Good luck!
2:30
Clears throat,
BROWN ALERT!!!!!!!!
good job. I loved the part where you explained the uboats. That information became very crucial for me to understand WWII submarine and anti-submarine warfare.
Every time Jingles says "Mark 48 Torpedo" I get a little giddy.
I love this series! Keep it up Jingles
15:17 Newfoundland - Emphasis is on the FIRST syllable.
17:37 "But don't worry; we're going to vary his depth for him." LOL It's things like this which keep me watching. Don't ever stop. :D
I come back and I rewatch this series once a year lol
same. I wish jingles would edit and re-upload those missing episodes that got strike.
Thank you for your blessings papa jingles. We shall work harder in ze saltmines for your eternal glory.
Ameer Usman Jogezai if you can work harder than you are already, you deserve to be punished, not rewarded.
homosapienssapiens19 who put you in charge ahy ?
Ameer Usman Jogezai I’m in charge? I must rejoice!
I don't even play any of the games Jingles does, why do I like these uploads so much? :0
Yay, it worked! Thanks Jingles for my video of the week!
BTW, how much salt is required to buff frequency of the serie?
For those who are wondering why this is the last episode in the 1984 campaign, Jingles had to delete a number of his videos including the last episode in the series because of fear of a copyright strike on the music he uses in the video.
That intro music was so good too:(
I was rewatching these to find the "Jingles landing in a submarine" bit... does this mean that video got taken down? D:
@@rs2excelsior Sadly no, that video was sadly deleted do to some music Jingles played in it. From what I recall he spent nearly half the video with his sub crawling around on the ocean floor until he found a mountain that he used as a ramp to gain some elevation. From there he was able to float up to a safe depth and motor away to the point where the game credited him with surviving and then he made it back to port. It was one of the most triumphant and glorious Jingles moments but it is sadly lost media as I understand it
@@ShinyaKogamiawesome Yeah, I remember it from way back when... one of the best Jingles moments on the channel. Sad to hear it's lost :(
Almost snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory there Jingles.....
AWESOME CMDR JinglesMcJingleBerry!!!!! Cold Waters videos are the best!
Loved this series, weird knowing its been 3 years😅
4 years now bud 😂
I miss his Jingles Submarine Landing
Try 5 years 😬
six years@@EthanDrewMusic
Exceptional and consistently outstanding ability to get your boats sunk.
On a mighty jingles binge, but I cannot watch these cold water videos, Holy crap they're putting me to sleep
Thanks to you, dear Overlord of the salty mines. You hooked me with Cold Waters, very good indeed.
Most enjoyable 36.30 mins spent away from the salt face. Back on double shifts. Oh the joy..lol
Especially difficult to shake the dipping sonar from the helos when you always have on a flank bell.
That helo pilot is determined to get his last revenge against you, as you have sunk his only landing platforms on the cold open ocean waters.
Nice to see Eternal Father back in the intro, much more fitting for the pace and atmosphere of Cold Waters!
This video came out the day i went to boot camp. i will never forget this video.
Looks like you have the admiral from Kancolle Jingles.
Giroro Mek
kuso teitoku?
I wish you could play as surface vessels in this game. I would love to play as USS Pharris or USS Reuben James.
As far as I’m aware you can, however you need to download a modification, and it isn’t available in campaign
Please come back to this game, Jingles. It's one of your best series.
I like that every time you mention the spear fish, it can chase you longer and longer...use to be 30 mins and now it's doubled lol
Great video thanks! You've bested me by one...I was excited at 6! Back to work...
I didnt even notice the song was missing tbh. The music did a really good job
Jingles, a question: is the Udaloy in Cold Waters the same ship as the teir 9 soviet DD Udaloi in World of Warships, or are they different classes with the same/similar name?
Completely different class with the same name, the Udaloy in Cold Waters are the Udaloy I class anti-submarine destroyers who entered service in 1980, the World of Warships Udaloy is Project 35 wich never entered production
Thanks for that, I really wasn't sure. Since both are DDs either answer seemed plausible.
Nice vid Jingles! Yay more Cold waters!
Jingles, when will you return to Wildlands and Lone Echo? also, will you ever return to Borderlands 2 and Sniper Elite 4? I would love to see a playthrough for both.
Love your videos, keep it up!
This brings back fond memories of playing Red Storm Rising on the Saratoga with a 386 machine.
I really want to see next one already. That last mission, has some feeling on it.
yes JINGLES ---- on my way home after a 12 hour to come to this
What a guy
I miss these episodes, Jingles!
CCP reference in the description. This is why i bloody love you jingles ! Can you also take the leadership while you are at it ?
Jingles please use the old music for the intro because it's way better. Love all your videos... keep doing an amazing job! 💪
Good music choice jingles!
Who else is excited for the two new submarines and the new 90's campaign?
I know this video is 5+ years old but it's still worth rewatching.
Only, Jingles - could you numbrt zhem so they could be watched in the order they were recorded?
9:00 "Prosecute that contact". Jingles: OBJECTION! Judge: On what grounds? Jingles: MK48 torpedo.
Also, Interesting background music choice. Maybe some FF6 boss music next time? ;p
3 years later, still great content
How do you record this video of cold waters? I’m trying to do UA-cam videos of this game to but it won’t let me record.
With software, such as OBS perhaps?
ctrldis I figured it out but thanks anyway. The record setting on my computer was acting weird
@@gamingwithjake6940 alright then
My grandfather served on a river class frigget as a sto class 2 doing convoy duty. He crossed the Atlantic twice.
I have never won anything until today. I won Britain at war from Mingles with Jingles. Thank you Jingles very much!
Congratulations, Niklas :)
Is there any form of news about a Royal Navy faction? I look forward to absolute domination with Spearfish torpedos and Trafalgar class subs.
1 Trafalgar and no spearfish since the game is set in 1983. The spearfish entered service in 1992 made to kill Alfa class subs all retired by 1990 so far too late to ever be needed. In game British torps would be WW2 unguided Mark 8's and Tigerfish that never successfully hit a stationary target let alone a moving one it was so useless that British subs where instructed to hide from enemy subs and only use harpoons to attack ships (based on a nato/soviet war starting).
If you go to Subsims.com and download the 'playable subs and more' mod by CaptainX, you can play British subs.
And Russian. And Chinese. And French. And German. And North Korean. Plus more! New campaigns and mission included too.
Yup, Tigerfish was so unreliable HMS Conquerer used it's Mk VIII dumbfire torps on ARA Belgrano in 1982.
But in game, I think they'd equip the RN subs with Tigerfish's that work lol - not realistic, but it'd be better game anyway :D
+Ian Webster nk subs means a metal trash bin with rocks for ballast
Must be great being uneducated in such matters.Well done for sharing your ignorance with the masses.
The helo that was chasing you was a KA-27, Jingles. Very nasty piece of work, but nothing compared to an SH-60B.
I can only imagine how much of a nightmare a Soviet campaign in this game would be.
good music very fitting and thematic
16:00 Although the final tally supports the UK strategy, the US method made sense at the time. In the eastern Atlantic, if you sank a uboat, it would just be replaced. In the western Atlantic, replacing a uboat takes weeks, and requires the replacement to transit hostile waters on the surface. Spending the time to sink a uboat outright may protect the next several convoys, plus the intercoastal shipping that was being attacked.
I have only watched it until 5:30, but I feel anxious and expect the sub to implode at any moment...
Well the sub was over 1000ft in depth. So he was riding the on the line
Gives a whole new meaning to "ballsdeep"...
Oh dont worry, he is a Sailor, He got this!
.....Did he not say that he was the guy who kept the ship records or something? O.o
Does that qualify you to be a sub captian?! Man, I am overqualified to enter the Submarine Fleet of the Hungarian Navy now!
Well it is enough to play Cold waters.
how many damned torpedos does that helo carry??? HOLY CRAP!!!!
How do you expect him to have any standarts... you are the only vessel under his control xD
What happened to the videos for the end of this campaign? I could have sworn he finished this, and there where more videos. Did they get taken down? I love this series, was rewatching it when I noticed this issue
"Helicopters are the bain of my existence..."
Welp...no more heliborne...
16:49 Jingles, he didn't find the submarine, he found a torpedo... >.>
Jingles. If you keep having some issues with audio in the background. Check out some music by Two Steps From Hell
hmmm jingles what do you think of implementing subs into world of warships or a game like that just based on subs
