Me too, i have seen them in munich, but i dont remember the year in the early 80's. This concert was one of the best in my life and i met sting on the way to the bandbus were he singned my Ticket.😀
@@caroleann_2142 I saw them at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland Maine. The final note of the concert, Sting played an open E on his bass, then they cranked up the volume. I could see the ducting on the ceiling moving from the massive amount of vibrating bass. It was amazing.

Nah! They were past the peak when all the backing vocalists and synths got on stage with them - the whole three - piece dynamic was the magic ingredient - once Gordon tried to make it his Big Band it all turned to guano !
@@jbeleni @Javier Beleni They were in NYC when A&M Records gave them a contract. Now they had money! They went to Manny's Music and brought a bunch stuff, including Taurus Foot Pedals. Stewart brought an Echoplex. The very next day when the band played in Long Island, Stewart experimented and used it for Walking On the Moon
In the C#m7 chord his pinky is on the 7th fret A string and he uses the same form on Bm7 (pinky on A string 5th fret). Essentially a moveable C chord shape that he move sto the 4th and 2nd position. He also seems to lift the middle finger to add some embellishments at different times.
Good spot, the song makes sense now. Playing the first chord of the verse as an F gives you a "natural" Lydian sound. All the instruction videos on UA-cam try to rationalise it in normal tuning, ie Eb, very awkward. Sting must have written it in F and tuned down to accomodate the very high notes in the verse.
No reason to have back ground singers on that tour. The horn section on GITM tour seemed awkward and loose as well. Nice to Andy with the Roland guitar synth!

Goodley and Creme? I have the Synchronicity concert on VHS and on a bootleg CD, but they didn't play Don't Stand So Close To Me...are you sure this is the same concert (Live in Atlanta)?
I was very fortunate to have seen the Police live in the early 80's. It was an awesome show.

I saw them at Atlantic City Convention Center, 10 row center Stage, but we went up maybe 15 feet away, What a Fab Show.❤🎉🎉

Andy Summers is a very underrated guitarist, no one plays like his sound. Great 3 man band playing in perfect sync. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
