Have a printed checklist. This is handy when you do your monthly checklist. I recommend zip ties be added to your list along with easy to wear clothes. A hat. Scarf. A jacket that is orange/red with reflective material on one side and dark brown on the other side. Most important is to pick a location to head in case of fire, flood, or earthquake. Wrap gear unpowered in emp proof bag along with your emergency radio. Most valuable is to practice using the gear including the your fire
You will need some dog food, medications, and a meeting place in case you are not together. Also, a person that is out of your area that you check in so they know you are safe and no one will worry and no extra resource/time be spent looking for you.
Great video! Thank you so much for putting this together. I also started making an evac bag, and I would add an AM/FM radio with NOAA capabilities. There’s options on Amazon that run on batteries, hand crank, and solar power. For any socal people, Major’s Surplus and Survival in Gardena has a lot of great stuff for packing your evac bag, and I got a lot of supplies you listed at that store.
Thanks for sharing this! would add a strong light. Battery operated radio. And a change of clothes. Also, things for pets - their dry food, some wet food they really love, a collapsable pet bowl for water, their meds and passports.
That's funny you mentioned that cuz me and my husband planned to do this too ever since the recent california fires, we call it a "bug out" bag. Ty for reminding lol Much love to u&weylie!❤❤❤
Good idea... Medication and / or pain relief. And extra clothes & socks , underwear. And with your extra snap links, you can put a pair of lightweight boots or sneakers. And a flashlight and battery power radio, batteries
My small solar power banks have usb, c, flashlight, compass, sos flasher on a carabiner. I also have small binoculars, disposable rain jacket, emergency radio, protein bars, dark plastic shower curtain, twine, canned pet food, nylon grocery bags to carry the cats, light weight jacket/pants/socks.
Val, can you share more about nylon grocery bags to carry the cats. Because that is something I am worried about, how to pack and carry all your pets in the case of emergency.
I have 5 ready to go for my family. Each back pack has the exact items. I camp a lot, so I am familiar off grid and primitive camping. Get familiar with your gear by actually using it. Also, know how to camp. It will prepare you.
Maps!!!! No guarantee wifi will be working and the paths you are familiar with may not be accessible! Also, sun protection of some sort, as heat stroke is real!
woah, early! & thanks for this my bf & I were literally just talking about having one ready in case of anything (especially since we live in NYC) and in the movies everything happens in nyc lol
I’d probably also pack physical maps, pain meds, rubber gloves and dog food, if it were me. I’d recommend packing more of the feminine products btw, as it’s doubtful two would tide anyone over for very long :) Interesting video, thanks!
We have two small kids, the thought of packing this bag paralyzes me. One of us would have to carry the baby, so only one could carry a backpack. The amount of things we could take would be very limited. My first instinct would be to take the bike trailer. It's not reclinable or packable but would help carrying stuff and can handle offroad. I feel whatever we plan for, life would hit us from another side. Anyone else got that feeling?
Everyone should be a Wah or have a Wah in their family. LOL!

love this tip! (thatswhatshesaid)
@@WahWu😂class act always.
Thanks Wah! I was just about to get rid of my older camping backpack. You just gave me the good idea of using it for emergencies.

I recommend getting these paper soaps. Half of one is enough to wash your hands. I would say a foldable jacket too and sunscreen.
Can you do this same video concept but with all your camping stuff?

The baofeng is so 🔥 I use it for snowboarding
LOVE THIS TYPE OF CONTENT! Humans and pet go-bags

I'm gonna have to pick a few more things, thanks!

@@tajat866 I don't kk ow about nylon grocery bags, but we have a cat-carrier backpack. It's pretty light and not that bulky

I cook for my dogs/meal prep once a month, so for me, i will just need to grab their food and water (I can always eat their food too lol)
Wow everyone needs to like Wah 😅

Yes, thanks, maps!
Great video, I'd also like to see a pets emergency bag too
Have you ever consider to invest a freeze dryer? You can freeze dry you own food and cold soak it.
Wah, you forgot the dog food 😢. Excellent vid though!

Better safe than sorry, right? NYC is a wild place 😂
It's at times like this I understand how many things we use every day 🙈 thanks for the tips! Hope we never need to use them though 👀
What firearm do you carry?
Second! Also I see there’s PTSD from the fires.
You can see it in my eyes 👀
Awesome video…but where did you list what u put in your bag…u said u listed it below, but I can't find it…Thank you Wah!!
the list is in the description box 🫶
I’m not sure if this was brought up, but medications are essential to include in a survival kit.

I’d recommend packing a period cup! They’re light and reusable
Hi Wah! Where is your passport holder from?
You know "go bag" is shorter😂
