Thank You so very much for the work you are doing WCC! We definitely need many many more of these beautiful Wolves on our planet. We need to protect and respect them and keep them wild and free! You are so amazing and I hope you continue your work for many years to come! Wado!
A big thank you and congratulations to everyone working at CWW and to Helene Grimaud. The work you and others throughout the U.S. is sorely needed. My best wishes to you all... Jack Ward, Ph.D.
Hey! Its me hahaha!! I just saw this in my recommended videos and i watched it and i'm glad for this little movement you got going on :) Good job and keep up the good work guys
I was leaving Louisiana about a year ago on i10 east just west of the slidell rest area about 10 pm I seen a big wolf this size in the woods walking fast like in a panic I pulled over and watched it about 5 minutes then it ran off..was going back to work in Louisiana and seen it dead on the big curve on i10 where it was trying to cross. the wolf was headed in a westerly direction.it was so sad to see it dead.not sure what kind it was..
Let them thrive! It's important that we keep these from extinction. They are good for pest control especially and a beautiful animal that deserves respect.
And artic is canis lupus arctos and fox is lupus vulpes I like what ur doing I support u I love wolves, when I ask what a canis lupus is people say it's a plant and I correct them, thank you for brightening my day!!!!! ☆ ~○~
I'm not a hunter but some of them are actually population control. For example, i live on long island where our deer population is HUGE. They can cause car accidents and eat farmer's crops. If the deer was near extinction then hunters wouldn't kill them unless they want to be poaching asshole.
What about the Algonquin wolves in Canada? Are they the same? I know they only live here in a very small area but if you could please tell me I'd very much appreciate knowing. Thank You
Judith Campbell red wolves are different than Algonquin wolves.. Algonquin wolves are hybrid wolves being mostly Gray wolf with some eastern coyote.. we have them here in New York. people just think they are coyote here but in actuality they are more wolf like. the idea is they moved south into N.Y. from the Algonquin nature preserve
Do the breeding pair mind about some of their pups being removed from the litter? Isn't there a risk that the wild breeding pair will reject the captive-born pups? Does this not disturb the den of the wild wolves?
The red wolf line diverged from the gray wolf 2 million years ago, and from coyotes 150,000 years ago. So tell me, how is this a wolf and not a specialised member of the coyote line?
LaStriata Well if you wanna get technical, coyotes pretty much are wolves. In fact, we should start calling them Prairie Wolves again. After all, they are closer to Grey Wolves, Red Wolves, and Eastern Wolves, then African Golden Wolves and Ethiopian Wolves are.
Red Wolves are actually wolf and coyote hybrids. They bred with gray wolves, and then backcrossed extensively with coyotes. Their genome is 80% coyote and 20% gray wolf. It doesn't make them any less of a species that needs to be protected, but it has to make us rethink the way we see species and the policies that protect (or not protect) hybrids.
They are NOT 80% coyote. Most are 87% wolf, with the remainder being coyote and dog. However, a mix with coyotes may have occurred thousands of years ago.
@@Keznen DNA testing proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that these "red wolves" are nothing but mongrels, not to mention the fact that when the original breeding pairs were chosen, DNA testing was not available and they were selected from trapped coyotes because they "looked like" what trappers thought a red wolf might look like. The American public has been duped again. Throw a female "red wolf" in a pen with a male coyote and guess what you get in 60 days? To say hybridization happened thousands of years ago is simply ignoring the facts.
I love every thing your doing but one thing. I dont like that u guys take the pups from one mother and give it to another mother. I understand why u do it but I feel that that is wrong and maybe u guys should come up with another way for them the learn in/about the wild. Again I love what u guys do I just dont like how u take them away from one mother and give it to another.
I have so much gratitude to all of you who are you working to save the wolves! May God bless you abundantly

Let's save them and the rest of the ecology!
very nice. Their howl is really cute, not as deep or well travelling as the grey :)
Glad to see a new video on red wolves :-)
We Very much need to protect the Red Wolves and Preserve their existence!!!
Only 100 in the wild. How sad.

I think there is a Red Wolf sanctuary in Eastern NC.
good job with the video...
Much better than where they had been only a few years ago.
can we see more of the redwolves?

Cool Video cool UA-cam 👍🏻
Omg!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!
seen 2 in Lake County FL within the past year.
I've seen/hunted coyotes... but this was at least 120lbs
I'm a hunter and I have always had people say hunters hate animals. I would probably cry if this species went extinct.
thats a pretty ironic thing to say. Not to sound rude or ignorant but isnt that what hunters do making species extinct?
nerdygameinggurl no, actually the money that is put forth on one animals is used to build habitats for the others
nerdygameinggurl in the past, yes that is tru
cause ive seen people hunt for "fun" and "enjoyment" can you like elaborate more?

I just realized... Red wolves are at my local zoo Denver zoo 😃
hm well this is very interesting
red wolves also used to live in PA too.

they would not mind at all. wolves love puppys and is almost unheard of that a wolf would kill one. even if its not their own.
So the original parents aren't affected by the removal of some of their pups? Why is that?
im sure they are protective of their puppys if thats what you mean but wolves loose their puppys in the wild all the time sooooo
I have a redwolf mist with a chowowo
I'm going to visit them every day
red wolves were mainly from the southeastern United states
