Swim with the Horses at Pebbles Beach Barbados. Meet a Bajan Eustace Joseph Horse Trainer

If you’ve never seen horses swimming before then you are in for a treat when you visit Barbados
By early morning around 6am to 8am you will see the most majestic sight Horses swimming on the shore and some who swim as far out as the shipwrecks and catamarans. On Sunday and Thursday mornings horse trainers walk their racehorses over to Pebbles Beach for an early morning swim.
We had the honor of chatting with Eustace Joseph who is a horse trainer along with his son Kenny Joseph the owner of some of the island's winning horses.
The Garrison Savannah is one of the oldest horse racing tracks in the Americas. It is located just outside of Bridgetown, across from Pebbles Beach. some mornings horse trainers walk their racehorses over to Pebbles Beach for an early morning swim.
Swimming keeps the horses fit without stress and risk of injury. Seawater aids recovery too. Some of the horses aren't too eager to get in the water and it takes a little coaxing the Horse to Swim at Carlisle Beach Barbados
I think I saw at least 20 - 30 horses that morning and it was quite a sight. I would recommend both locals and tourists to head on down for a relaxing morning on Pebbles Beach. Pebbles is located between Radisson and Hilton Hotel.
If you’re staying at the Radisson or the Hilton, no problem. The horses swim in the section of the beach right in between these two beach hotels. In fact, if your room faces the ocean, you can probably watch them right from the comfort of your own hotel room.

Wow beautiful, my favorite beach growing up. The jetty is gone now it was over by the Hilton, we used to jump off there and hand out with the neighborhood kids.😁
