How can you get 5.1/5.0 sound with a 2 channel soundbar and 2 surround speakers? Can you add 4 Denon home speakers so you have soundbar as center 2x Denon home as front left/right and 2x Denon home as rear left/right?
Hello, I have Apple TV and a TV provider at home. So, 2 connections are to be made. Shall I connect both to my TV and with the ARC cable from TV to the soundbar? Or shall I connect the Apple TV directly to the soundbar? I have already ordered the 550 here in Belgium. Thanks for any help!
Come on Denon, we really need some real world reviews of this sound bar... I want to invest in something for my lounge room that I will be pleased with for both TV & Music... Should I go for this, or front up the extra ££ and go for the Sonos Arc... I'm torn as I really like this soundbars aesthetic & size.
@@alexaras10 not yet... I spoke with a guy at sevenoaks hifi (UK) and he also threw in the NAD Blue sound Pulse 2i as a pure audio contender... there's just not much stock of the Arc or Pulse 2i around at the moment...
Denon, please get your "stuff" together. Give us an kick@ss app and functionality. Keep up with the customers who want to buy Denon because of sound quality. Heos app is prehistoric, functionalities missing. Even Denon's participation on social media is poor. You've got the hardware, please complete the picture and give customers what they need!
Does the Denon Home 550 have sound frequency profiles for different types of source material eg movie / speech / music like Sonos have built into their sound bars?
i need help im trying to pair this with an LG magic remote and the instructions it says to do in the app never pairs with the remote. anyone want to weigh in>?
Is Denon going to sell the same sound bar but in a bigger size??? IE a 650 model or a 750 model, just like with the previous Non-Dolby Atmos DHT-S316H - DHT - S516H + DHT - 716H Soundbars ???
@@willledwaba1694 it is best to use a gigabit switch and cat 6 cabling rather than using wifi connection. I found wifi connection as surround sound system to be unstable even with a quality wi fi set up. The HEOS app is poorly written in a number of respects but now I have cabled the connection it is much more stable. I allowed a 100ms delay on speakers to prevent echo.
Although the Denon 550 has bags of facilities through Heos it does not have native You Tube support or You Tube music support built in. If you have Chromecast on your TV or built in it will play through the 550. You don't seem to be able to set up groups of speakers using Google cast products with this system.
I bought 2 x 150, the sub and the 550 Soundbar and they won’t connect for 5.1??? False advertising this surely… sound is great but if the sub won’t pair it is a waste of £599…
@@ianwinsor5148 I feel your pain. Did exactly the same. I was told there is a FireWire update coming sometime early this year which should allow it all but we are nearly half way through 😡

odd the picture implies there are no wires but you do need cables i assume they just assume that u will be knocking holes in the walls there :)

the soundbar has a dedicated wi-fi setting to connect speakers to, including sub.. its amazing

is there delay wen you add the rear speakers? i only used te home 150 and they had massive delay when connected to my tv.

Yes but not necessarily a pain free process given the present software which really needs a complete makeover.

I don't believe so - but if you have a Chromecast in your TV, then that's your workaround...
