Nice and very fast Otis Europa 2000 hydraulic elevator👍. Yes the door setup is very unusual. For this reason, with hydraulic elevators I usually only make a safety break when traveling downwards.
The first one is almost the same as the lift in the apt building I move in soon. At least the inside reminds me of it. It´s also an Otis. It has no weird door setup though. It´s from 1992 and completely original with bubbled up flooring, but it doesn´t level smoothly but freefalls a couple cm every time it´s leveling instead. According to other tenants this wasn´t like this from the beginning but started about 20 years ago.
Where is that otis? I want to film it next time I'll visit Copenhagen... The last elevator runst on an Hisstema controller - One of the earliest generics controller with "intelligent leveling" made in sweden, but otherwise a buggy mess...
It is somewhere in the center of the city. Not too far from the pull rope lifts. I don't remember the exact location as I was walking all around the streets trying every door in search of lifts, and I wasn't really keeping track of where I was.
@@SummerADDE_Elevators It shouldn't be hard to find. Search the streets around the center and there will probably be loads more lifts you didn't know about. Copenhagen is full of interestingly weird lifts.
Slow levelling speed I guess is a problem with hydraulics as they have to maintain oil pressure and also why they’re slow to start compared with traction lifts.
If you saved up enough money would you ever consider going on a special expensive flight adventure to New York City in the USA? Plenty of tall buildings with fast lifts, a big subway system with a few older trains you might be interested in trying (or surfing rather!). And if you get the chance you should try riding some of the big trains that run out of Grand Central. Also as a bonus if you go into the Macy’s department store. They have a few old wooden escalators still in service. I stayed for 6 days in mid-October this year and I had a good time and thought to myself “I bet Beno would be interested in this.” When spotting some of the things I mentioned. Just a tip, The food around the times square area is all horrendously overpriced and there are many street vendors who try to rip off tourists. Like we’re talking US$10 for an ice cream from a van that probably would cost less than half of that in the UK.

As far as out of the ordinary Otis elevators go, I wish that the wonderful oak panelled original at one of the Clubs on Pall Mall hadn't been just another victim of modern regulations. Apparently a gift from Otis way back in the infancy of these new fangled moving wardrobe type things, like this'un it too had a single use ground floor main door and then a door on the right hand side for every other storey. Shoehorned into a space not much bigger than the size of the coffin I imagine that the Fat Controller would have needed, its sliced off corner and unbeatable musty smell are sorely missed. Needs must and the new one is necessarily hautier than your average bear Booboo, can fit a wheelchair in it now and as a result of this and other rules and regs, has been scientifically cleansed of any whiff of eccentricity and charm. Onwards and upwards eh‽
semi automatic innerdoorless otis

I love the weirdness. It's fantastic. I love that shop swing door to, and the really old one is great.

Great video as always, Beno!
Everyone likes an Otis lift. Even I do as well.

Very unique Otis lift. When you’re going up and do a stop test at a hydraulic lift, well what do you expect? They always stop super violent.

Hey Ben how does the lift know when your food hits the wall ?

4:46 i thought the lift was on fire service where you have to hold the button to get to your floor
0:23 No room in the corner for another set of doors to retract is there‽

Does the automatic door only serve the first floor?!
Where in Denmark is this elevator? I want to film it :)
