I'm a bit annoyed i didnt see this before now. I literally just ordered a heat deflector for my Mesa XL a couple of days ago. I spotted one of these in my local store for cheap and wondered if it would work as a deflector but didnt go for it since i thought it would just help channel the heat upwards.

I tried this on my stove and it is great, thank you from Poland🇵🇱👍🏻
@@militia318 Always great to hear from people in other countries… hello Poland! 🇵🇱 And yes, it definitely affects the heat output. 👍🏻

I ordered one to try it out, I also found hardwood pellets burn a bit better/hotter and the flames not so wildly high
Yes, you’ll be amazed at the difference in the heat that radiates. And yup, pellets are the best by far. 👍🏻
you’re good 👍 I sub bro from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
@@ToFightTheGoodFight hello to Tasmania, welcome! 👏🏻
How does it compare to the heat deflectors?
It generates more heat, and doesn’t deflect any smoke (the heat deflectors do).
What diameter is the chimney that you added?
6 3/4”
Does it fit perfectly into the rim? I’d kind of be concerned that it could blow over and into someone should a wind kick up…
@@nancyclayton6535 yes it fits just inside the rim, but it’s not snug, so I suppose that’s possible but not likely.
This is a hack
