I don't let people like Pickler get away with roping. Not only do they not waste my time (I'll start writing, organizing, whatever off turn), but I hold them to the game and make sure even if they have me beat they have to work as hard as they can for the win lol. There is also such a good feeling making people who rope every turn concede after turning the game around :D
23 lands is torture :) so much mana can be sunk into the classes, the parragon even carrot cake is a kinda 4 drop I would consider going for 27 lands to secure a starting hand with 3 lands

Sometimes you will be forced to play the land searcher instead of another card you wanted to play because you need to go get a land. But there is definitely a middle ground, playing land searchers certainly means you can play less lands, and the cheaper the land searcher the more it counts as "land".

I have a similar deck to this in paper Magic. I utilize the phyrexian land The Mycosynth Gardens (spelling??) where I can pay 2 and copy one of the Clay Fired Bricks. Even if it's transformed, you can pay 2 and get the "Creatures get +1 +1" benefit from it which catches people off guard and buffs creatures in a very different way. It's a cool little interaction.
Fabled passage/demolition field + conduit of worlds is the ultimate in grinding. Add in cankerbloom, and Lilian and the opponent will never out grind you. Still working on an optimal list. There are so many possibilities in BG.
Can’t you order the triggers from builder’s talent/carrot cake such that you get to place the counter on the rabbit? I think you have to turn on manual trigger ordering in the options, but they’re simultaneous ETB triggers, so correct ordering should mean you get the counter.
The builder's talent trigger requires a target to even get put on the stack. So, if you play cake on an empty board (on your side), the builder's talent will see no creatures it can target for the counter. Then the cake triggers and makes a rabbit.
33:23 if you want to make sure you hit lands, isnt carrot cake the move? You get to dig 2 for a land without thinning the deck of them. Perhaps there is a specific 3 drop in the deck he wanted to be able to curve into?
builder's talent has been way better than expected for me. Should try it with kaya intangible slayer. I usually discard it to bitter triumph or liliana, then reanimate it with builder's talent. Plus kaya goes semi infinite with caretaker's talent if you turn it into a token creature. then you can use level 2 to copy itself, then can level 2 as much as you have white mana :D
I've started trading out The Clay fired bricks for the new Fountainport Bell. The bell can find you ANY land in the early game, and for a mana less. Plus later in the game you can decline the search for land trigger and sac it to draw a card.

the bell tempo is slower than bricks, the board state can change a lot by the time you get that land, and the draw isn't that useful that it's worth a slot in the deck when you have caretaker

This year I got to Mythic for the first time playing an Orzhov Midrange personal brew with Zoraline and many 3 cost value stuff. That said, I started this 31st with the new rank not being able to win even 1 match. Is there any hope to Zoraline in combination with Caretaker's Talent or some other combination? I'm getting my ass handed by Boros Tokens, Discard and Rabbits. I'd appreciate the help to build something around my favourite bat. Anyway, thank you for the great content as always!
I like that the CGB riding a dino token is a 3/3 trample, suggesting that the dino is 2/2 cuz trample, and therefore CGB is a 1/1, perfectly at home in monored aggro land :p
So first off. F the ropers. The game gives ppl way too long rope. But that last game was NOT 30 mins gone. That was a great game and super entertaining to watch. I learned a lot.
and i can't help but feel that they are favoured. they get the cards they need, they don't draw dead to mana. they always go first. it is so infuriating. five cost sweepers are not good enough. make it make sense WotC.
It's because of the algorithm. It tries to guarantee 2-3 land hands, so aggro decks are inherently benefitted by it trying to give you better openers. Add to that mono red being cheap (low rares), mono coloured (low rare lands), and fast (easier climb) and it's not a surprise. I just hate that they keep releasing bullshit like cacophony and hearthseeker, because it's a "fucked if you block, fucked if you don't" if you're not specifically running and drawing exile cards.
Bro it is INSANE how much time MTGA gives players to make choices, INSANEEEEE. For the love of god make rope shorter, building up timeouts are fine but MAKE THE ROPE GO

I think the maps might be a bit stronger than a 1/1, but a creature is still a creature. But the versatility of any non-land is better than only creature, enchantment or planeswalker. Especially seeing people losing to the Forge so often lately. Edit: sorry, forgot Stroke is 3 mana. I usually compare it to Generous Gift
Ive come across some very intelligent and cordial mono red and boros players so i kbow they exist. Theyre just super rare. 😂 And that boros mice player, in my humble opinion, was such a POS. Wotc really needs to put some stricter time penalties in place. Like AI that distinguishes if youre intentionally roping and if you are you sgould be blocked from signing in for a week. Its so effin ridiculous!!!!!

True but the tempo hit is so hard that it's hard to equate that to playing removal and a land on 2.

That card was such a boon in slower decks that played sky noodles.
