This is a new technique to me and you explained it so well. Thank you for not rushing through the steps it slowly began to click with me as the rounds progressed but I will be referring to this in the future.
LOL Skeindeer, I will never ever be doing a tutorial... ;))) But seriously, what a fascinating technique, never seen or heard of in all my years of knitting - you can definitely teach an old dog new tricks!!
The back floats remind me of ladder-back jacquard. Is this essentially the same? I have not done colorwork yet, but have been saving up tips and tricks until I finally just give it a try. Love your patterns and was so excited to see my favorite sweater pattern of yours now as a hat! :-)
Would I be correct in assuming that when using this technique the purl sts are not counted? Meaning, if I have a repeat that is 15 sts and I include 2 purl sts to carry the floats, there would actually be 17 sts between my markers, yes?
Thank you for making such a clear video of this technique - but I was wondering, how would it work if using 3 colours in the same row? I’m knitting a yoke at the moment that that says to use this to manage the long floats from using 3 colours but no idea how to adapt it for 3... any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks
I've never tried this, but could you make like one or two white stitches, one green, one or two white again and a red stitch? To keep the colored stitches together but with some backgroundcolor inbetween? i wish you luck!!!
FAR OUT!!! that is amazing!!! genius!! well back to ravelry for. new pattern
Knit life changed forever! Thank you so much.
Mind. Blown. Your demonstration makes it so clear. Thank you - and now, off to knit a hat or six and that Isbre sweater I've had queued forever!
Thank you!!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I hate catching my floats and having to stagger where I catch, etc. and this simplifies all of that!
Amazing tutorial . So helpful
Oh Ladderback Jacquard, the most ingenious thing! ♥️ This was one of the best videos about this technique so far, thank you.
Wow, thank you!

I am not 100% sure if this is how ladder-back jacquard is done but it certainly leads to the same result. It might be what I'm doing. 😄
@@SkeindeerKnits Thanks!

Yup! The purl stiches do not count towards your work!
