What an awesome live version. They make this performance look absolutely effortless!

If Skynyrd doesn’t hit you where you live, you’re living in the wrong place.

I have loved this song since first hearing it in my youth. I appreciated the music. Now, some 30 years later, I listen to this song as a father of two boys. If I could give my sons advice it might just be the lyrics to this song. All I want for them is be satisfied, and become men they love and understand. Heck, it took me decades of adulthood to accomplish that.
If you want to hear a parental song that absolutely hits your soul deep and guarantees the need for a tissue please, PLEASE check out “Letting You Go” by Jason Isbell and the 400 unit. Jason might very well the single greatest lyricist in music today. I don’t say this lightly, perhaps this generations Bob Dylan with regards to lyrics.
    Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the insightful reaction of this wonderful song! You mentioned the Shinedown cover a couple of times in your reaction. In case you are not already aware, Shinedown’s original guitar player, Jasin Todd, is married to Ronnie Van Zant’s daughter, Melody. The young girl holding Ronnie's photo in the Shinedown 'Simple Man' video is Ronnie's granddaughter, Aria Todd.

Check out "Walk with Jesus" by Darrell Mansfield live. He is a Christian blues singer who plays great harmonica.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can't go wrong with a great harmonica player.

Don't consider myself real religious but a little can't hurt. You deliver the message well. If you can try grammy winning Billy Strings Turmoil and Tinfoil at the Opry. See of you can catch the heavy metal undertones.

If I knew then what I know now. Hmmmm. Hindsight is 20/20. And I'm 65 now by the way. How old would you think you'd be if you didn't know how old you were? It's never too late to have a happy childhood.😊😁♥️

I rather hear the original Lynyrd Skynyrd. This ban has only one original member. This band is NOT Skynyrd.

No argument from me. Still a fun version, though.
