- This video explains what an RGC is. It covers what the RGC rating is, what it actually means, and why this is so extremely important to your training. Look for more information on the RGC method. If you would like your grippers rated, be sure to contact me through UA-cam or my website, www.dieselcrew.com
Great explanation, Napalm
Thanks
Rgc?!! I had a flashback in Michigan that is Jackson quarantine rgc(reception &guidance center)😭 awesome video , thanks for the flashback😷
Ah man. Sorry dude
Thanks for watching and commenting.
This is so amazing I have a set of 1-3 COC I got as a high school graduation gift in 2000 couldn’t find them a few years ago so I ordered a #1 and #2 just found my originals a few months ago and felt so weak the #1 was much harder then it should have been. It makes since that it could be 20# heavier then my new #1! Great information as usual sir
I have no idea how much variation there is in #1s, but there definitely could be that much in #3's
@@gripstrength Part of the problem might be that it needs to be oiled you can see a small amount of browning on the springs? Maybe that's adding to it being harder to close?
@@jshah1961 I doubt rust will lead to 20# of increased difficulty
@@gripstrength 20# was just a estimate since I didn't even know what RGC was until your amazing video but maybe it is making some kind of difference. Maybe ill send a few in to get tested and see if its just me or if it is a big difference. Thanks
Any interest in selling the ones from 2000?
Great information, most definitely cleared a lot of things.
Glad it helped.
Thanks for the info learned a lot.
Just thought that clarifying they are in pounds,.. and not kilos,..may help folks understand better.. o) Nice way to keep competitiones fair though!..excellent work!!
Pretty much all RGC numbers will be in pounds
@Florence I think you misread the numbers on the tags. 3s are usually more like 145-155.
"Mom, dad, Grandma! What are you all doing here? It's good to see you!"
"Jedd, sit down."
"Huh? Ok"
"This is a safe place. We love you. We are here to support you. But we are worried about you. Your gripper 'collection' is a little shocking..."
Lol
Is there a big difference between a used gripper and a brand new gripper?
No
@@andrewulrich8053 lol thanks for the reply 5 years after I asked this question.
@@nagonzoyeah I noticed that was funny
@@nagonzo have you been training with gripers? This whole time
@@andrewulrich8053 nope. I trained for a few months but not much outside of that. Got up to closing a 2.5
yes sir
Holy shit that's a lot of grippers
Gotten a few more since
I' feel like I'm going down a rabbit hole. I'm very OCD and a perfectionist, this isn't sitting well with me. I hate variations and love accuracy. So, when a gripper, say one from Heavy Grips has 250 lbs. stamped on the handles, that's not the actual amount of force or RGC to close it? I suppose the only true way to test your grip strength is with a dynamometer. I only use hand grippers as a supplementation to other forearm building techniques.
No, with the RGC all grippers that fit into it can be tested and compared directly with pretty good accuracy. Naturally things like binding springs or poor knurling can't be measured with an RGC.
For more info, search my name, Jedd Johnson with "RGC" and "how grippers are rated" and you'll get a clearer picture.
But essentially the numbers assigned to grippers mean nothing.
Are these in kilos?
No
@@gripstrength then? Pounds?
@thefictionalyt4997 yes
@@gripstrengththen the resistances are too low, right?
@@GjstruAim4997 no the Resistance is the actual Resistance, not the made up numbers
I just bought a basic one because my hands are becoming shitty. All of this seems very complicated. If I do the exercises and get a better one later is that going to help? I swear you went Shaolin serious in this bitch.Master Shifu 🐼 😂❤
Noelani Wren I don't mess around
Go my bro
wait so all coc ratings are inflated!?...im crushed! also did you close the 3.5!?
Paul Travis I've closed 3.5s
But I have a question what is RGC?
IT Security It's the device that's used to rate grippers
How do you get one of your grippers an rgc?
I'm not sure what you're asking
@@gripstrength like do you send your gripper somewhere to get it tested for the rgc
CPW. I talk about them in this video
