- here is EVERY BLUEY BREED AND CHARACTER there are 130 bluey characters in total and this is every breed in real life from season 1 season 2 and season 3 so far (2022). I wanted to show the inspiration for the animators of the show

I am a big fan of bluey and with season 3 airing in Australia, I thought I would do a breakdown of every episode with a small review, some spoilers, and any bluey theories that might pop up. Bluey season 1 and 2 hit disney plus two months after airing in Australia so hopefully, all of season 3 will be out for everyone soon!

According to the Bluey wiki, Frisky is not a red heeler. She's actually an english cocker spaniel.
I always assumed the terriers were Scottish terriers.

@@aussiegirlmargie Our family are big fans of Bluey but before that, the kids were very into Hey Duggee. They did one episode where one of the characters had lost his glasses, and when they were found and he put them back on, they swapped the animated Duggee for a real labrador which I must admit made me laugh heartily and appreciated the creativity that went into that gag.
I think I finally realize the other reason I love Bluey so much, besides the fact that it’s relatable to parents, and adults alike. I have a Heeler/Corgi mix of my own! Her name is Mollie.

Australian cattle dogs are herding dogs too. That’s why they’re called CATTLE dogs. Actually pretty much every breed used in this show are herding breeds.

the amount of detail that gets put into this show is amazing. having the characters look like the actual dog breed just shows how much effort was put into this show.

I love that the creators gave actual common dog names to the characters. It makes it feel more genuine and cute

I’ve just thought of a REALLY awesome topic that Bluey could touch on… they could have “mixed race” or even “adopted” children… and have either one parent a different breed to the other parent or the child a different breed to their parent!
That would be so awesome!
That would be a really cool idea. With dogs you can really exagerate sizes and personalities so you could have something like a big Irish Wolfhound puppy learning to accept an adopted sibling of a different breed, something really different like a small yorkie. Or Bluey meeting a dog who is a mix of something unusual like a corgi/poodle. sothing like that would be a great teaching tool.
If you notice, Missy is a completely different breed from her mum, so there is a chance they already touch on adoption, but I like where you are thinking (video tag 7:18-7:22)
i think it would be great if that's the direction they went with for brandy. having a new adopted cousin would also have fun possibilities for mischief with bluey and bingo!
@@samstarium8606 possibly, but I wonder if Brandy grew up setting her expectations on the whole biological experience and is still grieving that part. It’s wasn’t just about having kids. So maybe one day Brandy might be able to face that she could still be a mum through adoption, but when she is ready. You shouldn’t just adopt just to fill a hole either.
@@Kiku91 i didnt say that at all, wow. legitimately just thinking out loud. i know plenty of adopted people and of course the goal is to adopt because you WANT to, not because you have to. also obviously part of brandy’s arc is coming to terms w/ her own infertility. i never said that aspect should be neglected. she can deal w/ the emotional turmoil and look for other options if she’s still set on having kids; not mutually exclusive things
All these pictures that you chose for them are either super cute or really pretty. Not to mention incredibly accurate compared to the characters.
Oh thanks! It took me 6 hours to find all the characters and breeds and track down a good picture for each 😆 I never realized there was 130 characters in the show!

1.in one video you said that there were three dogs with human like hair Indy,Indy’s mom,and frisky,but in episode fairytale nana has a Afro and uncle rad has like schwifty hair and grandad has Afro like hair2. I have a theory blurts friends and there parents get controlled by magic to always go along with games because in almost every situation they seem to go immediately along why I made it specific to friends because random strangers and workers are just confused. Sorry I wrote a lot I just like chatting to the people who work so hard to make these videos and have a merry Christmas eve

I think a lot of characters are based on devs actual dogs, Rusty and Bluey were creators' dogs. Pretty sure the others took dogs they knew and made them characters. I had a few ideas for characters based on people and dogs I know. My mom's Great Dane as an awkward tall girl (my family is very tall), my niece's Yorkie as a councilor, I even picture Hollywood actors as their dogs.
This video has just made me pick up on something about Lucky's family and real life Labrador genetics. So real life Labradors have 3 colours (black, brown and yellow) and these colours are determined by 2 major genetic factors. One determined if the dog is black or brown the same way that eyes are decided to be blue or brown in humans. Black is the dominant colour and brown is the recessive colour, meaning that you're more likely to get a black puppy, and sometimes you always will get a black puppy. Onto yellow, the yellow itself is either they are yellow or they're not, with yellow being receive like brown. But the thing is when you have a yellow lab, you can tell what other colour they would be (black or brown) by looking at their nose. And with Lucky's family, Pats definitely black, Lucky and Chunky I'm on the fence wether they're black or brown but I'm leaning more towards brown, and Janelle is definitely brown.
I just needed to say that, Labrador genetics have fascinated me since I saw a litter of 10 from a brown mum and yellow dad come out all black

Pixie Dane: awkwardly tall girl and Great Dane
Axel: a xolo who knows Spanish
MacLearan: an upper class collie
Biker pitbulls that help others by looking tough but being very sweet

Frisky is a Cocker Spaniel! I think it’s canonical that she’s a Cocker Spaniel (plus her “hair” is her ears tied up and away, bc Cocker Spaniels have droopy hair-like ears)
Since you had the breed colors listed for the Australian Cattle dogs, I figured I’d list the colors for the King Charles Cavalier Spaniels!
Bentley is a Blenheim
Bentley’s mom is a Ruby
And Bentley’s sister is a Tri-color
This show is definitely one for the adults to enjoy too. I laugh entirely too hard every time we watch 😂

You did great! I’m laid up in my bed with a horrible, HORRIBLE tummy virus right now, and this video was EXACTLY what I needed! My favorite breed of dog for real life is actually Bernese Mountain Dog, but we haven’t seen that yet. Bingo still remains my favorite Bluey character ever. I squealed when I saw the surfer collie, got tears in my eyes when I saw Jean-Luc, and openly giggled when I saw the old lady pug and the realistic pictures of Coco’s family (I love the matching pictures on that one)! Keep doing your thing. All my best to you in the year ahead!

Since I volunteer for two Shiba Inu rescues (and have had several Shiba's) it was really exciting for my family when we saw the Shiba's running the carrot juice stand.

I've only seen one episode of this show so far, but I can say as I dog lover and animator that they really captured the breeds perfectly in their designs.
They added so many breeds for this show. Even the background characters. That’s amazing❤
The terrier triplets definitely look like Mini Schnauzers, which makes me think maybe they're adopted? Or they are supposed to be Scottish Terriers but the animators decided to change their colors around so they could more easily identify one from the other, considering the way that they keep yelling "for Scotland!" and their mum is definitely a Scottie!

As someone who owns a Pitbull dog (Her name is Fila!) I absolutely love how the dad is just staring, my dog sometime just stares at me for an hour, then gets pitbull zoomies , so I find it funny! (Also my entire family LOVES bluey, from my parents to my younger sister!)

Its honestly INSANE what huge differences come from subtle angle changes in the line work. The artists are truly masters of their craft.
They made Lila’s brother so accurate cause the actual dog breed is so small that they fit into your hand and they made the yoga instructor so accurate with the legs cause Saluki’s are known for their long legs

My first dog in my late 20s was an Australian Kelpie. Gorgeous dog. So much energy. She lived for walks and the dog park.
This made me realize that poodles are depicted with pink fur sometimes and I never thought about how uncommon it is.
I watch this show with my kids, and I just love it. It's so cute and precious. And there are surprising lessons for adults and parents in the show too. I was surprised about that. A lot of episodes feel like they are talking to me and not just the kids.
This was so cute. I think I like Coco's giant pink family.

hi, i dont know if anyone else has said this. I've just come from the Frisky/Uncle Rad vid you posted about being the first mixed breed couple, but, like, 2:47 into this one you have a Cavapoo... which is a mixed breed with a combo name for a Poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.
I thought the same thing but it took me a second to realize the cava- is for the cavalier king Charles. I wasn't familiar with that one, labradoodles are more common where I live. And yorkie-poos.
2:53 I still find it funny that Judo and her mum Wendy have red tongues since Chow chows have blue tongues
And they're white! Most common chow chows where I am are red, occasionally black.

I can confirm that there is nothing more adorable than a litter of Blue Heeler pups. Even a childhood memory of heeler pups playing tug of war with my hair that made me burst into tears was not enough to convince me otherwise. True story.

I recently saw a reddit page on bluey reddit about which two characters who haven't interacted in the show should interact, one person said indy and Jack which I very much agree with (especially with rusty) but their were some other interesting suggestions as well, particularly one that suggested mackenzie and judo, are their any characters (and i mean any), characters in the show that haven't interacted yet that you think should ?
I want to see more of Lucky, he doesn’t go to school with them but seems to be friends with Rusty and McKenzie anyway so I’d like to explore his character more

I like the detail that Missy is possibly adopted, as her mom is a different breed than her. I noticed this back when watching Pass the Parcel.
I love the nod to greyhounds being blood donors.
Even though everyone is shaped like a playing card, I overall like the designs.
I thought Rusty was a red heeler at first, but Australian Kelpie makes more sense

I know they probably keep families the same breed for simplicity's sake, but it would be really cool to see parents being 2 breeds and the child being a mixed-breed. Heck, if they wanted to go that route, they could even have themes of "not belonging" because they aren't pure bred.

1:30 According to the Bluey Wiki, it states that Frisky is a English Cocker Spaniel, however, this was recently changed.
I looked and it was not changed. Plus she has the ears of an English Cocker Spaniel (being tied into a pony tail) so i’d like to think that she is one. Plus seeing a mixed breed couple is something i’d like to see since we rarely see them. Rad is a mixed breed but with two of the same types of dogs. (Red and Blue Heeler)

Thoughts from a dog groomer!!
- First of all I don't think we've seen any breed mixes so far, so Dougie and his mom being cavapoos doesn't make much sense- I interpret them as probably Irish Setters or English Cocker Spaniels! (Different type of Spaniel than Bentley and her family)
- Pretzel is definitely a Shepherd of some kind. ❤️ I think canonically, he's just too big to be a Chihuahua! A chihuahua in universe would be more Pom Pom's size.
- I always imagined the dad and his kid at the swings was a brindle Boxer! But I don't outright disagree with Pitbull- just my interpretation ❤️
- Missy is for sure a yorkie. Those are the perfect yorkie colors!
- The porffertje seller is actually the first dog I've seen that isn't a discernable breed to me... hm... I really can't think of anything. I thought his round ears might be a clue, but I came up blank. First canon mixed breed character??!! 👀
- Okay so Takeaway Lady was the first background character I saw on the show that I immediately knew which breed she was as soon as I saw her- she's a Japanese Spitz! Due to her working at an Asian restaurant, I assume. Such a cute joke 🥹🥹

Yeah, the chihuahua one doesn't make sense. They have other facial structure (neotenic but big heads and eyes) and they are really small (the smallest breed), even more than Pomeranians
I have always assumed Missy is a Yorkie as well. One of my parent's friends had one growing up and Buddy looked exactly like Missy!
