    Wanted to share how unexpectedly excited I got from purchasing a few fun books from the thrift shop today! I have to say your videos have inspired me to start reading as a hobby. I work full time with the homeless and it gets difficult to separate work from home. So, recalling your videos about your love of reading hit my heart and inspired me to find balance in doing something for my mental well-being. I was praying for inspiration and there you were and are! Bless you and your pup!

    The Outrun is one of my absolute favourites - there's a film coming on 27th September and I'm so excited to see it! Amy's second memoir (The Instant) also focuses a lot on urban nature as she moves to Berlin to find love, I'd really recommend that too if you haven't yet managed to pick it up 🐦

    Thanks Molly, I just love The Living Mountain by Nan Shepherd. Apparently during the war she had the Cairngorms very much to herself and she thought nothing of walking miles by herself. I have her book in my studio and I often will sit and quietly read a few passages from her book to truly escape to the mountains! Thank you for the link to A deep dive into nature memoirs. My husband is reading one about a woman who has studied the Wild Cats here in Scotland that I bought for him yesterday.

    Beautiful nature. ❤ I think we have a similar wild rose here in California... My favorite scent in the whole world I decided is buddleia... and amazingly, there is some of that here in southern CA where we are, within the nature reserve. I'm also trying to grow a couple of buddleia plants in pots on my balcony. 😊❤

    Good day, Mrs. Molly. My best wishes to you.
    You have a nice, cozy video blog on UA-cam. I also really, really like the countryside.
    I would like to ask, to find out, if possible - you probably read books, and maybe you know, have you read the novels of the Scottish writer and doctor - Archibald Cronin? And, in my opinion, he is a very good writer. He is not as well known in the world, and in Great Britain, probably, as, for example, Stevenson and Scott, but nevertheless - his works are very interesting. A couple of years ago I "discovered" him for myself. A wonderful novel "Citadel" and so on, according to the bibliography.
    Well, once again - my best wishes to you in your work, blog.
    Alexander.

    I'd recommend any of Robert Macfarlane's books. He is just a brilliant nature writer especially The Old Ways and Underland. Just as an aside I have just read Fifteen Wild Decembers by Karen Powell. It is a fictionalised account of the Brontes told in the voice of Emily starting with their time at Cowan Bridge and ending with Emily's demise. It is such a good book and I know you are a big fan of the Brontes especially Wuthering Heights.
    A lovely vlog of the beautiful Scottish countryside thank you.

    Do you often encounter other folks on your treks with Skye? I ask because in much of the United States, dogs are not allowed to be off-leash on public land (in order to protect wildlife, to protect other people from aggressive dogs, and to prevent multi-dog altercations).

    • @Elizabeth-dg8dn
      @Elizabeth-dg8dn Місяць тому

      Maybe is it like Montana. You can have dogs off leash on a lot of public lands in Montana.

    • @Daytona2
      @Daytona2 Місяць тому

      Dogs are allowed to be off lead in the UK. The law says they must be under control.
      The reason of protecting the wildlife is fair enough, there are plenty of places in the UK where you're requested to keep dogs on lead for this reason.
      Aggressive dogs are scared dogs who feel the need to front up to a perceived threat. Both these latter points are a matter of puppy socialisation to learn human and dog body language so that they're relaxed around them. Unless a dog has reason to be scared of humans or dogs because they've suffered abuse/been attacked.
