The reason is, it's because of the close knitted families are separated by the thin line called border line. Families from both side crosses the border to go to English school in Ghana or to French school in Togo. That's how l grew up because my families are in both countries so we communicate in English/French besides our mother tongue Eʋegbe (Ewe)

Things must change. I am Gambian, and I used to live in Ivory Coast but went to school in Ghana. I experienced serious border issues between Ivory Coast and Ghana in 1996 up until 1998 when i eventually left Ghana. The whole African mindset needs to change. We have to love and appreciate ourselves. Excellent work, Maya. We, the people, can make the needed change. Enough is enough.

    • @muhammedcamara3726
      @muhammedcamara3726 Рік тому

@BlackBlaze Into their country freely?? I find it a very arrogant and aggressive way of engaging. The last time I checked, I believed to be still an African. Borderless Africa is the point here, not a lecture from you. Have a happy time and abundant blessing. Amen

    • @blackblaze5271

Yeah that's how it works it's not a lecture. Also it was a question. I think it's also aggressive to demand people let you pass into their country without a visa or any other checks if they decide thats not how they want to run things. Again visa's immigration checks, are a normal thing throughout the world.
Not everyone is asking for a borderless africa and they have a right to keep their country's border if they want. Are you going to force them?

@@jumaabdul1271 of course with the proper documents you can enter any country, what I meant was that Tanzania is very unwelcoming towards Kenyans.
Ask any Kenyan who has been to TZ about their experience, I bet most have not so nice things to say.
      Uganda's vibe is the best.

I’m a Togolese and I can tell you that it’s the way most of our agents subsidize their salaries. They are big landlords, multiple houses….Even the police in the cities.
As a truck driver in the USA, it takes me 3 (three) minutes or less to cross the border with my truck between the USA and Canada. Togo Is the land of corrupt men in uniform. Our airport and port in Lomé are just as bad. One time landed in Lomé the agent followed me to the restroom area demanding his bribe he “said out here there are cameras”.
Officials please do something, the worm is in the fruit.
    Thanks
    Thanks

I'm so Thankful for these contents you are bringing out and showing the real struggle we go through.
    Thank you Wode Maya
And as you said it, those situations doesn't define the people in the country.
For the Togolese that I am, I have always been through that struggle whenever I'm going to Accra by making sure I have 20cedis to pay while crossing the boder by the Ghana side and always have to pay another 20cedis at Sogakope Police Station otherwise, your bus will leave you there.
We pay a lot in making this our ECOWAS Passeport and still not being as useful as it should be, is so frustrating and stressful.
Those things need to change and I am Really Grateful to you for bring this out.
