So Magic Shop is referencing a book called Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon's Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart by James R. Doty. It is a sort of memoir sort of science manual on psychological techniques for exchanging suffering for realizing your desires. So in the song it is being used metaphorically as a place we can all come within our hearts and theirs to ease our suffering. This is a song from BTS to the fans basically saying we are their "Magic shop" and they, in turn, will be ours.
What the crowd is holding is the fandom's official light stick called army bomb. They are usually linked to the seats and controlled by backstage staff to change color and create words and patterns. Thank you for reacting to my favorite song 💜
Welcome to BTS. A note, please, watch the video until the end. You miss some special moments if you cut them short. We don't care how long the video is either as we are enjoyong our favorite group with a person who is discovering them just like we did in the past. 💜
Hi from Australia, I'm probably considered Silver ARMY as I'm 62. This song can make me cry but happy tears, these guys changed my life nearly 4 years ago. I'm happy you're learning how talented they are and will have so many first time experiences with them.
1. The call-and-response part is so iconic. Any member can sing "So show me" out of the blue in front of ARMY, and ARMY will respond "I'll show you". 2. If you like the honesty of hip-hop and the stories of country music, you've come to the right place. I think sincerity is a core trait of BTS. They write 95% of their lyrics and so their songs often reflect their lives and thoughts and experiences. This is even more evident in their solo work. 3. When you commented "good flow", that was Suga/Agust D. He has an amazing trilogy of songs: Daechwita (a diss track), Haegeum (a social commentary), and Amygdala (a personal story), to be watched in that order. The other two rappers are RM (his "Wild Flower" has deep and poetic lyrics) and J-hope ("More" is rock/hip-hop with his thoughts about making music). You will also appreciate their song "Hip Hop Lover", where each of the rappers shares his personal journey with hip-hop. 4. The vocal line are incredible as well. Jungkook with "Euphoria" where he defies gravity in their stadium concerts, V jamming with his band in his Tiny Desk Concert, Jimin with his intricate choreography in "Serendipity", and Jin serenading you with the uplifting "Epiphany". 5. I love reactors who appreciate BTS music AND lyrics, so you got a sub from me.
Not only are there millions of fans (tens of thousands in each concert), but a large percentage of those can tell you how BTS saved them and gave them a safe place to love. And those armys are turning that love into bettering their own lives and world around them. It is remarkable.
You never need to apologise for longer BTS reactions. 😂 ARMY generally prefers longer reactions if it's to dive into the lyrics because they're a very big part of their appeal and succes. 😄👍 - a danish ARMY, age 47 💜
Hi! I am a 55 year old Army (BTS fan) my first concert with BTS was in 2019 at Soldier Field. It was PURE MAGIC!! It was freezing cold, May weather in Chicago can be unpredictable, but we all had such a great time. And the fans are wonderful! I don’t usually like crowds and I was nervous but there is a strong sense of community at a BTS concert. I have since been to BTS concerts in LA and Las Vegas, and a solo concert for one of the rappers, Suga aka Agust-D in Rosemont Illinois. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I love BTS and I love Army (the fans).
Magic Shop is one of my favorite songs. This is a basic explanation but it is a song to comfort Army (and BTS), saying that in each other's hearts is where they'll find each other and that place is the Magic Shop. (I'm probably explaining that horribly.) It is also the place where both BTS and Army present their best efforts/sides because of the support they give each other. BTS found me in May of 2018 and I fell hard down the rabbit hole. I've had the honor of seeing them three times in concert (like in person) and Suga, specifically twice on his own. Their concerts are an amazing experience. Being surrounded by Army is also amazing and it's all hard to put into words. Amazing doesn't begin to do it justice. 💜💜💜💜 Thank you for giving them a chance.
I live on the East Coast and flew out to LA a couple of years ago for a BTS concert. Genuinely one of the most amazing experiences of my life. They REALLY put on a show.
I live very close to the East coast and did the same. All by myself. I met longtime Army friends there but it was mostly just me. It was nerve wrecking but I'm so glad I was brave enough to go on my own. It was a wonderful experience. 💜💜💜💜
@@blazingkitten Saaaame! I'm 41 and I've actually never traveled somewhere alone like that before 😅 I was genuinely so nervous! I shared a hotel room with a Twitter ARMY I had never met in person before, lol.
@@ashleyder9164 I'm 34 and same. I completely alone in LA but a friend drove me to and from the venue which was lovely. But in Chicago when I went to see Suga I shared a hotel with some different Army friends I've again never met and it went great and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. 💜💜💜💜
@@blazingkitten I was lucky with Suga because the New Jersey venue was within reasonable driving distance for me. So I drove straight to the concert and drove straight home (with several stops at Rest Stops for coffee to keep myself awake, heh)
@@ashleyder9164 that sounds wonderful. My friend and I did that for their tours in 2018 and 2019 in Chicago. I couldn't get off of work for the days following either so both times we drove 5+ hours there (traffic was awful in 2019), watched the concert and drove back home. Then both went into work with like an hour or two of sleep. It was rough but worth it to me. 💜💜💜💜
I saw them at sofi stadium in LA, 70k people or so. I was in the 2nd to last row off to the left. It was still amazing! Best concert I've ever seen and I have been to a ton of all genres in my life, & im 50. Hearing that many people around you, sing the call & response & doing the fanchants is amazing. And theyre obvs amazing live. They do those crazy hard choreos while singing and rapping perfectly. I like this format, i was 1 of many who suggested it. As others have said, dont be afraid of long videos, we live for them. Youll see when you watch Taylor's guide, ARMYs will come out in droves. 💜 16:05 it is to the fans. Magic shop is just their way of saying, imagine opening a doorway in your heart (while listening to their songs of comfort and inspiration), & BTS are there waiting for you, "its ok to believe... magic shop" drink a cup of hot tea, look up at the galaxy, the same one theyre looking at. 😊 its a song of comfort to us. The translation is reliable. If you love having to think about it, youll love them. Check out fake love & especially blood sweat & tears if you want to read into things.
2:05 Imagine them doing solos in front of that kind of crowd! They all have!!! But even though they are still nervous they LOVE perform in front of ARMY. Must be something to feel the love of 60000 people!!!
Bless you for having an open mind and listening to our beloved BTS! I’m a U.S. 🇺🇸 ARMY and have been lucky to attend BTS stadium concerts in the Rose Bowl, SoFi, Allegiant, Soldier Field as well as some smaller venues like the LA Forum. BTS 💜 doesn’t feel nervous, because there is a special bond between BTS and ARMY. BTS 💜 writes and produces most of their songs and communicates with us through live chats and the lyrics of their songs. During a concert, there is such a synergy between ARMY and BTS, such a bond of unconditional love that it feels like we are levitating. In the US, we all know the lyrics to their songs, and their discography is huge both as a group and as individuals. Their music is groundbreaking and unique. They have been a group for more than 10 years and have broken records all around the world as the biggest artist in the world. I’m so proud of them I’m in my seventh year as ARMY. They carried us through the pandemic and so much more. One thing, please don’t think of them as simplistic as much of our music is. Their main lyric writer, Kim Nam Joon is a thinker, an art lover, and a reader of serious books with an IQ of 148. But they’re all geniuses in their own ways. Their songs have levels and I could write a treatise on so many of them. I hope you will have fun and not do this with a typical American arrogance, but with an attitude that we can learn from and enjoy music from other parts of the world. 💜🫶🏼🙏🏽
They DO sing live, in fact they, well at least Suga who has that flow you mentioned, has randomly stopped during a song to prove there’s no lip sync. Now, especially solo songs, they have backtracks because of all the harmonies they layer. They even will practice vocals while running on a treadmill just to be able to be stable
I'm a 41 Army from Indonesia, first, you were right about them singing live, they never do lapsing in their concert.... Magic Shop is a special song dedicated to the army, They found me in the end of 2019 when I was about to end my life, that time I lost my love... my job... one of my best friend to the pandemic, I heard this song from the next room and it really hit me... all the memories I had with all the people I love is playing like a movie in my mind. Here I am now....still alive and keep digging my way to the rabbit whole....😊😊😊 Thank you for giving them a chance... thank you for understanding their talent and loving their music.... And don't worry about how long the video is... There's no such thing as "To long !" video about BTS for Army's.... 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
You should watch the video, ARMY Sings Young Forever for BTS at Wembley (Enjoy BTS More channel) BTS ALWAYS sing live. When there are intense dances they do have a low backing track playing so they can take a breath! It is those voice wobbles, the ad libs, those little changes from the original that makes it special. We always say we don't want a perfect BTS, we want a REAL BTS.💜
Yes, this is a song for ARMY. Magic Shop is an imaginary place to exchange negative thoughts for positive ones. You enter it and BTS will be there for you, It's part of the Love Yourself campaign where they tell us. If we give them (BTS) the best, we must also give ourselves the best. See you feel positive answering them "I'll show you ". Essentially it is telling us not to give up on ourselves.
“Into the Magic Shop” is an autobiography by James R. Doty, about the lessons he learned from a woman named Ruth, who he met in a magic shop, one of the lessons - or tricks - being to open his heart. BTS's “Magic Shop” is a fan song produced by Jungkook, in which BTS asks fans to open their hearts when they are in pain, and tells fans about their own experiences, letting them know they are not alone. The song basically talks about a way of escaping reality, that when you enter the 'Magic Shop' you exchange your fears for positive emotions. After the musician's release, the book that inspired her became a best seller in Korea.
Oh my I’m at 10:28 & laughing so hard! BTS always always sing live! They’re known for their stamina & ability to do strenuous choreography while singing/rapping. You will notice that they constantly pass the lead around and that is how they do it. It’s amazing when you really pay attention to how they blend these seven beautiful, unique voices together. Listen closely- you can always hear them breathing and even letting the audience take the lead.
There are also so many examples of small mistakes (because they're human) or intentional line drops (hi Yoongi). Jin's plosives pop off the mic a lot, Jimin's cries are never exactly the same twice. Sometimes someone is sick or loses his voice and the others fill in or the audience sings for them. Anyone claiming they're lipsyncing is just trying to start a fight. I love live performances - they can play more, but there's always a risk something won't go perfectly. It's rare for them, because they're amazingly good at what they do, but it happens and I honestly cherish that. Having someone sing their heart out and take the risk that they won't be perfect is something I really value. There's a place for studio perfection, but it's not what lights me up. (Just a personal preference!) No matter how much I love their solo work, my heart will always be with the OT7 songs where all 7 weave in and out, like this one, because I agree with you - the way they blend into a seamless whole without losing their individual voices is amazing. 💜
You have adjusted very well to this. Thank you for changing your format. It is way better. Glad you are putting importance in the lyrics. Yes Magic Shop is another song for ARMY. It is telling us that we have helped them a great deal and it is encouragement for us. We gave them the best of themselves so we can do the same thing for ourselves. If we need them all we have to do is open the door to the Magic Shop and they are there waiting for us.
They absolutely sing all of their songs live! I flew from the midwest to LA for their concert back in 2021, and you can 100% here their constant live vocals and it's astounding how stable they sound despite the constant moving and choreo! I don't think I'll ever have a better concert experience than what BTS gives to their fans!
One of my absolute most favorite lines, "You gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you." BTS are always there with encouraging words or ARMY, or and one willing to listen. The group and the fandom have a very symbiotic relationship, of continual back and forth support.
Of course, they are singing live, they always do :) And what a special song for Army ! Magic Shop, basically, is a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. The song is based on Dr James Doty's book "Into the Magic Shop " : a type of psychotherapy where a therapist takes on the role of a magic shop owner (it comes from a series of children fantasy novels Magic shop by Bruce Coville) who attempts to barter with “customers” in an attempt to satisfy their needs and wants in a constructive way. When you walk into the magic shop, you may ask for anything or try to sell what you don’t want. Everything comes at a price though. What you come in looking for isn’t always what you leave. A few of the lyrics of Magic Shop talk about how the boys want to replace ARMYs “sadness and pain” for “comfort”, much like the way the psychologist/therapist acts as the shopkeeper to exchange one thing for another. It's the second "offical fan song" after 2!3! , the first JK took a lead in writing and producing, besides RM, Hiss, Adora, J Hope,Suga and others. Song by BTS for Army, to comfort them, and also a promise : BTS will always be there for Army. That's a testimony of what made BTS so special and unique in the whole music industry's history : the precious, special and unbrokable bond they have created with Army, throught suffering, pain and success... It's one of my favorite BTS comfort song, (with Serendipity and Zéro o' clock) .
Don’t worry about longer videos. We once watched butter melt for two hours just because BTS was connected 😂 I saw them in NJ with ~70,000 people. It was incredible and they def put on the best show I’ve ever seen. 2.5-3hrs with no opening act and they never let up on the energy. 💜
This is not a arena, but the biggest stadium Tokyo Dome in Japan. I beleive it holds over 100,000. Arena only goes 20,000 to 30,000. All BTS concerts are mainly huge stadiums only. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
not sure if anyone has told you this yet but it's really cool that you mentioned (~ 15:54) how the audience with their lights, which are actually "army bomb" lightsticks rather than phones here, look like stars because they have a song called Mikrokosmos that is basically all about that concept and imagery! the lyrics say that each person is their own star and together we make up a small universe. when BTS performs that song, they turn off all the lightsticks and ask army to hold up their phone flashlights instead, just like what you thought they were doing! it's an absolutely beautiful song with a feel that is similar to magic shop, so if you're in the mood for another song with this vibe i'd highly recommend it!
I was lucky enough to see BTS live twice and then at their live screening of Permission to Dance concert in Vegas. All I can say is that you think the crowd is amazing watching them online but NOTHING compares to being engulfed by ARMY from all over the world. During the live play I had a couple of young ladies from Mexico next to me who couldn't speak much English but were singing right along in Korean which really shows how much a global impact the boys have. Ironically enough I ended up cracking my ARMY Bomb sometime between the in person concert the day before the live play. Now it's just a little visual reminder of that amazing experience. I'll link one of my actual fancams for part of the song Stay and then into So what - I'm sorry about the not so great quality! Link: ua-cam.com/video/dXgTRs8SjKQ/v-deo.html
These boys have so much of their heart and soul scattered across so many genres of music. Watching you slowly see how they have worked so hard and loved even harder is such an enjoyable experience for us! They always say you find BTS when you need them💜 I do follow a UA-cam page called EnjoyBtsMore. She has hundreds of videos with almost accurate subtitles and uploads constantly. There, you can find many more lives and other videos of BTS spanning back to their beginning! I found them two years ago and I genuinely know they and their music and journey has lifted me up to a better version of myself. Have fun! Music heals💜
Magic Shop is such a beautiful song. And when you said whomever is singing he high note I chuckled. All 4 vocalists can hit the high note. And you are looking at a stadium they routinely sell out every venue. Youre looking at 40,000 -90,000 depending on where they are. And yes. They ALWAYS perform Live. They feel artists should be able to perform their art. And thise lightsticks are blue tooth synced with tge sound engineer who controls them during the show.
Hi Curiosity TV, the song was created for ARMY inspired on the book In to the Magic Shop, is about to find that place inside yourself to be comfortable and be able to feel safe and shelter. Most of the song from the team has self-love messages and based on books they’ve read or experiences from each member
Great reaction. It would be appreciated if you would go right to the end of the videos. The very ending of this song is iconic and we, and you, missed out on it. 💜
Your opening remark about standing and performing in front of those huge crowds resonated with me, because I have thought it too, many times. I have to remind myself how they said their fist live audience was about 200 and that was scary. They have built their way up to stadiums slowly as their fanbase grew. There are only very few artists that can sell out stadium tours in minutes. It is absolutely a conversation with the fans. You comfort and reassure me, and I will reassure and comfort you. At the end , it was great to see the truth of the fan's relationship with BTS begin to dawn on you.
The biggest crowd I've been in front of was 4,000 or so, and it was actually easier than 400, and *much* easier than 40. I'm not sure if BTS have experienced it the same way but I think it's pretty common for performers. I haven't gotten to perform for 40,000 but I know for sure I'd jump at the chance 😁 I'm not trying to argue, sorry if it comes across that way - just offering another perspective. I think they genuinely love being in front of the ARMY galaxy 💜
Ty for acknowledging the live vocals! They sometimes have a backing track for the songs with more dancing, as a support. If they choose not to sing a part they don’t lip sync, they let the track back them up without trying to fool anyone. I love that.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don’t apologize for anything you do. It is YOUR REACTION to our BELOVED BTS that we’re here for, RIGHT ARMY? Stop, start, go back, play again, just TAKE IT ALL IN! Most of their songs/videos/live performances are overwhelmingly intense & PHENOMENAL! 💜
Subscribed. Long videos are a plus when you have insightful comments and an openness to BTS! I tear up every time I read their lyrics. Their love for ARMY and their acknowledgement of what we give to each other is beautiful. Suga’s rap line, about why he came into this industry and made music for us, To take away sadness. It’s touching. And they don’t gloss over the fact that many feel overwhelmed and lost in life. They don’t just say cheer up. They say, I get it. Me too. I’ve been there. And thank you for helping me. Go to your happy place inside of you, I’ll meet you there and remind you why you’re important. They give purpose and meaning to ARMY, any ARMY, who needs to feel they are loved, and needed. Maybe I don’t listen to enough music, but I just feel they truly care and are reaching out to their fans, not for their own benefit, not to share their own story, but to create it with us and make sure we all make it on this road of life.
Small stage for them, this is Festa, i think. Anyway, imagine stadiums, 40-60,000 such as SoFi, Rose Bowl, Wembley, the largest in the world. They don't lip synch, training includes walking on treadmills with masks and dancing while singing, and you should see how long they can hold their breath under water! Aside from breath-training, they are extremely talented singers, and the three rappers are the top three in Korea, All of them have produced albums or singles since the military hiatus began 14 months ago - all have had #1 album or song hits. Just keep watching, you've got a lot more of their ten genres to explore!
They've sold out The Rose Bowl and Wembley for multiple nights. I saw them at a sold out SoFi stadium (there were also another 6K in the UA-cam theater next door where it was live streamed all four nights) and last year they sold out Allegiant stadium in Vegas (and live streamed to the MGM Grand).
Those are ARMY BOMBS not phones lol. This song is one of my favorites. It is very comforting when you are feeling down. To know that they are there for us is so amazing. Thank you for acting to our 7 AMAZING KINGS!!! 💜🫶🏻🫰🏻
ARMY will stick around for long videos. Take your time, dig in, sink in, follow your curiosity, we love it. I love that you said you were enjoying sinking into their lyrics. They do have some songs that aren't super deep, but there are a lot of songs that are layered with meaning. They've also written *way* more songs directly to us, to the fans, than... probably anyone ever? There are so many. This is one of the comfort songs. BTS is indeed singing live. Always. They have a backing track, which isn't unusual, but they're singing over it. They've worked very hard to be able to perform like this. This song is a really special one, a gift to fans dreamed up by Jungkook. They're asking us to promise to show them that we can love ourselves. They say they only succeeded because we believed in them, that we gave them the best of them. Then they say that they believe in us - that we can give ourselves the best of us. From their perspective, they're just ordinary people who loved music and each other and us, and if it hadn't been for our love and belief, they wouldn't have succeeded as they have. It was our belief that made their dreams come true; they want us to show them that we can make our own dreams come true too. So in this song they're giving back. There's a lot to it, but that's at its core. The Magic Shop is a psychodrama technique (there's a book!) that's being referenced here to refer to an imaginary place in our hearts, a door we can open and find them there. At our hardest moments, we can open that door, and sit and have a cup of tea with BTS while they admire each of our individual beautiful galaxies. They use galaxy imagery frequently because yeah, when they look out on the crowd with their light sticks (army bombs, not phones), it's like a night sky. Mikrokosmos is a really lovely example. Sometimes we're a galaxy, sometimes we're an ocean. And in this one, each of us has a whole galaxy inside ourselves, too, their way of saying that every single person is beautiful and complex and perfect. They really, really, *really* love us. I've spoken with people who have seen Magic Shop live at a time when they desperately needed its message. This song has saved lives, quite literally; if you've been in a crowd of 30,000 people singing "I'll show you" to BTS, that's a promise you try really hard to keep. I still tear up at this song if I let myself think about it too much. They've touched so many people's lives with just this one song, and they have many more that are equally impactful. If I'm awake at exactly midnight, I hear their voices in my head telling me I'm going to be happy, because of Zero O'Clock. When I'm feeling like I can't possibly keep fighting, I sing Not Today and On. I could go on, there's so much. They're almost painfully sincere and they really are just ridiculously wholesome. Given what you said about what you appreciate about rap, I think if you dive in you'll find a lot to enjoy. They started as a hip-hop group at their core, and write almost all of their music. The rappers write their lyrics. They have different approaches, different styles, different flows, but all of it is heartfelt. Rap can speak truth to power, that's one of its strengths, and they leaned into that early on. And it didn't exactly go well. It's a hell of an underdog story. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Hi my Dear, no apologies for the time , because ARMY is with you and we are happy for your reaction to our boys, they are amazing, their talent is beyond of any artists in this era , it's my opinion, thanks for your respect and love to them, Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
In the teaser for their song Fake Love (which was the title track for the album Magic Shop is on), BTS specifically defines the term "Magic Shop" as a "psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude." This has a deeper meaning within the narrative of their discography (they have a fictional storyline that runs throughout) and the teaser shows each member (or character) exchanging an item from their HYYH album era representing their personal trauma for another item from their Love Yourself album era representing something more positive or hopeful. The figure doing the exchange from the literal "Magic Shop" (which, in the teaser looks like a circus ticket booth) is a man in a mask whom we later find out (through their Map of the Soul album series) is themselves. But BTS has this way of writing songs that takes on different meanings in the context of their album themes vs their album narratives vs in a vacuum as a singular song. As a standalone song, the "Magic Shop" here refers to the place in their hearts and ours where we find respite and comfort with each other.
This is a great way to do reactions I appreciate it when other reactors do the same. Don't ever worry about long videos because ARMY will watch. We've been known to watch an hour or two reactions. This is one of the many songs they wrote for ARMY. Is about the relationship between BTS and ARMY. You are right this is a stadium and stadium performances are kind of the norm for them now. They sold out two nights at SoFi stadium in LA which is where the Super bowl was held there. They sold out the Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas for 4 days. They sold out two nights at Wembley stadium in the UK among others. The tickets generally sell out in between 20 and 60 minutes usually before general ticket sales even start. Usually their concert tickets are sold by lottery and people sometimes sit on their computer for hours at a time. Long time ARMYs kind of have it down to a science.
I got LUCKY for PTD in LA as I was in the queue for less than 20 minutes with a seat 4 rows back in the second level. Then for Vegas I was waiting for close to 3 hrs and basically got whatever ticket I could and that was trying for 2 different days. BTS tickets are a freaking bloodbath and I'm scared to see what it'll be like on their first tour after enlistment.
First and foremost know that armies will watch any video of any length as long as you’re being honest. So, pause and give us your true reaction. Watch it 10 times if you want. We literally watched butter melt for an hour. 😂
Magic shop is based on a book written by a psychiatrist. It basically means the power of the mind to heal. Magic Shop is a therapeutic space in your head, you just have to believe it. In short yes this song is for their fans who struggle with mental illness such as depression, anxiety, self loath, etc.
You NEVER have to apologize to ARMY about a long BTS reaction video (as long as you remain genuine and respectful of course :) Yes, BTS are renowned for singing live, while dancing, running, and goofing around. Backtracks are pretty much industry standard now, and certainly help keep shows running on time. KPOP idols apparently often train by singing while running on treadmills.
YES, THEY ARE SINGING LIVE! There is a performance where one of them pulled their mic away to show that they weren’t lip-syncing! My daughter told me that they sing while on the treadmill, to increase stamina to dance & sing for concerts! 💜
That “SEA of CAMERA’s” is actually called an ARMY BOMB! They are synchronized to the music. It is an incredible feeling to be IN THEIR AUDIENCE & SEE ALL THOSE LIGHTS!
I wouldn't worry too much about the length of your videos, ARMY doesn't mind longer videos when it means you're taking the time to truly appreciate all the efforts of our boys😉💜
Magic Shop is such a beautiful song!! I absolutely love this song and I’m so excited that you’re checking out more BTS. I have the lyrics of the song on a poster hanging in my room and I love looking at it whenever I’m having a rough day. The words bring so much encouragement and happiness. So thankful to have found BTS four years ago. Can’t wait for the next reaction!! 💜
If you love lyrics you are in the right place with BTS. Everything they write has meanings, and they write about 90% of their own music. BTS struggled for years but ARMY was always there to support and love them (and protect them). They never forget and in return have shown their love countless times in their music and interactions. This song, in my opinion, is offering ARMY a soft spot to land when they have troubles too. It's also an acknowledgment of the two way devotion. Towards the end when they say You gave me the best of me, now you'll give you the best of you - I love that line. They are telling us we are worth it, we deserve to live our best lives. These are 7 of the most humble, kind, generous people on earth. They are a treasure.
Love to watch newbies to BTS. The lights re not phones they are Army Bombs. In concert they re controlled by the concert and they can change colors and create words in the crowd.
Magic Shop, as a place is a representation of our own little universe. It's like a place where BTS and ARMYs have, with only happiness, peace and comfort inside. Magic Shop as the song says is a place where we can go to keep our worries away. It's a representation of the comfort BTS have given us. At the same time, it's a song that BTS used to thank us, ARMYs for the love we are giving them. As on the last line stated, we, as fans are always giving our best for them but we must also remember, that we also have to give our best to ourselves. It's time for us to give our best for ourselves. ("You gave me the best of me - ARMYS to BTS" "So you give you the best of you - ARMYS to themselves") After all, Magic Shop is under the LOVE YOURSELF album so the meaning itself is to prioritize yourself too as we prioritize BTS when it comes to inside the fandom. Magic Shop will forever be one of our comfort songs. A song that calms our hearts and heavy minds.
Just found your channel today. I love it when reactors find BTS. I found them during the pandemic in 2020 and can not go a day without them now. They are all such hard-working, talented, funny guys. They are singing live. There is usually a backing track because they move around and dance so much. But they definitely sing and rap live. BTS has so much content. There are MVs, live performances, dance practices, and ARMY will watch all 3 versions of one song in one sitting. I liked how you checked out the lyrics separately so you can understand. This will be critical when you get to the rappers cause the words go by so fast. I like your energy and respect towards the boys. I have subscribed 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Silver Army here again. LOVE that you are continuing the dive! My daughter & I were fortunate enough to be able to attend not one but TWO of their COMEBACK performances at LA/SO-FI stadium. There was over 70,000, yes SEVENTY THOUSAND in the audience for FOUR NIGHTS! It was UNBELIEVABLE! 💜
I really like that you are taking your time to listen to the music, watching the video and then reading the lyrics, so you can enjoy both, music and lyrics. So please don't apologise for a longer video. Can't wait for the next reaction.
Those aren't phones. They are "ARMY bombs"... lightsticks that are connected through bluetooth to the concert light booth. They can control the colors and will make designs for different songs. Their concerts are truly an immersive experience! 💜
Magic Shop is one of their songs that gave birth to BTS x ARMY universe (BAU). The "galaxy" personfies the "goodness and hope (courage)" of the human heart to see the brightside of the darknight. "Magic Shop" is an imaginary yet comforting universe of BTSxARMY made out of their relationship built by the time and the music of BTS.. MS is one of the songs of BTS that addresses mental health or depression. You see, South Korea is one of top 10 countries with highest suicide rate among the youth. BTS took it upon themselves to talk about the subject at the time it was frown upon, if not a taboo to talk about it. Before suicide becomes a normal thing in a cold country like SK whose kids are forced to grow up earlier than their primetime due to pressure of family circumstances or standards, BTS made a choice to write lyrics addressing mental health, bullying, abuses, society's inequality, social and economic pressure. Little did BTS knew that millions of people of different generations from many countries across the globe are sufrering from mental health due to anxiety, low self-esteem and depression. It was the lyrics and melody of their music, their personality, and content got massive attention across the globe. For non-army or those who know nothing about BTS has tjis stupid idea that BTS x ARMY is just a phenomenon thing. BTS x ARMY is over ten year old and continues to grow everyday as one or 2 persons becomes an Army like u. Who knows after 3 or 4 reactions you would touched by their music and content and turn to become an Army, yourself. BTS x ARMay is electrifying. .
i believe the most overwhelming expressions for them i think should been the moment in wimpelton engeland when army ask as a suprise sing the song young forever, this is when the boys knew nothing about. so army sang the song young forever that got them emotionel. beautifull to watch how army sang that song to the boys.
Magic Shop is also a "psychodramatic technique where you take something negative in your life or personality or experience and exchange it for something positive". This meaning was also implied (or explicitly shown) in this song and the videos that were created during this era.
Oh yes they sing live and you can often tell because you can sometime hear them taking a gulp of air or maybe miss a word or phrase and all you'll hear is the music. Look at Jungkook just singing their without any music.
Yesss!!! Thank you for your reaction! I really love this way of reacting! This is the best way, listen to the whole song first. That way you get to listen all their masterpieces with no interruptions. Then go back to dissect the song. Thank you!!! Borahae!!! 💜💜💜
One recommendation. Run BTS videos to the end. UA-cam for whatever perverse reasons loves to visually desecrate content by laying advertising over the closes of all manner of videos. Further, BTS loves to provide Easter eggs which reactors quick to shut off content miss. Even this live had one you missed by shutting the video off before the end. You would have seen the crowd lights were not cellphones, but light sticks called ARMY bombs which are synced during concerts to change flashing patterns, change colors, operate in audience sections, and even create images. The later was done here. P.S. Reading lyrics can be difficult but much of the world does it when watching foreign films. It is Americans who find them problematic.
This is better explanation than i could explain from genius With the help of BTS' youngest member Jungkook for the production of the song, “Magic Shop” is a track that surrounds a concept about how if fans look inside their hearts, they will find a magic shop where they can exchange their fears for happiness and find the love all of the members have for them. The song is inspired by James Doty’s autobiography Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon’s Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart and its concept of opening up one’s heart and loving oneself and others. During the BTS press conference on May 24, 2018, Jungkook described the track as a song that could be comforting for ARMYs-whenever they felt tired, sad, or frustrated they could just have to open the door in their heart to the magic shop and there they would find the seven members of BTS waiting for them. Fans theorize that the magic shop plays a role in the BTS music video universe, where some characters are seen trading in specific items that play a significant role in the music videos, and some are shown leaving with items shown in the Highlight Reel.
ARMY STILL HERE! There are many, many LONG videos of BTS & so WORTH your time! 💜 Thank you so much for reacting. I especially liked your statement towards the end about being forced to read the lyrics and think about them. THAT’s BTS, DEEP MESSAGES! 💜
Thank you . ARMY I'll be here for long reactions. Really agree with what you say about the lyrics and reading them. Live show is amazing and being with this Fandom even at a huge stadium was so welcoming and the energy so positive you don't feel uncomfortable!
This song really meant a lot to me during the pandemic, and I still tear up and feel happy at the same time when I hear it. Longer reactions of BTS songs and content are fine with me. 💜💜 I enjoyed this!
This is probably my favorite BTS song and I love this live version. They never lip sync; sometimes there is a backing track going on too, but it is turned way down in the background.
Awwww magic shop, this is the song that made me ARMY cuz I watched it when I was going through a hard time Their concerts are indeed amazing, great crowd
Thank you for reacting to BTS...I agree with you about reading the lyrics (and even more impactful is the fact that the lyrics are meaningful and poetic). BTS has wonderful songs and performances, many songs that are comforting and many bangers that you might enjoy due to the fact that you like Hip Hop...their rappers are serious but also sensitive! The group started out as a Hip Hop group and their music spans so many genres. Enjoy your journey!
thank you for being respectful of our boys i have been an army since 2018 and let me tell you these boys are so amazing and talented at everything!!!! Thank you for taking time to watch and learn about them and their music i want to ask that you watch a video made by a fan called a guide to the 7 BTS members where you will learn more about them and what they each bring to the group, like different talents and their names and their back ground story and the upbringing of the group. PLEASE watch that video before continuing your loooooong BTS journey again thank you for being respectful, I am glad you enjoy their beautiful music 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜please consider the guide being your next video thank you
I was so blessed to see BTS in 2021 at So Fi stadium. I flew from Alabama to LA to see them. It was insane! The best concert that I’ve ever been to. They are truly talented and wonderful human beings. Hope to see them again one day. I am enjoying your journey down the BTS rabbit hole. Would love to see more reactions to them. Thank you. 💜
Jungkook, the youngest member, was the main songwriter and also one of the main producers for this song, btw!
So well said. Way better than my poor attempt at an explanation. 💜💜💜💜
yes it’s almost like comparable to consider your imaginary “happy place” and finding it within yourselves -in your heart.where you take comfort
This is what I was looking for - a reference to the inspiration for this song. Thanks ARMY for including that important piece of information!
💜
What the crowd is holding is the fandom's official light stick called army bomb. They are usually linked to the seats and controlled by backstage staff to change color and create words and patterns. Thank you for reacting to my favorite song 💜
very cool
Welcome to BTS. A note, please, watch the video until the end. You miss some special moments if you cut them short. We don't care how long the video is either as we are enjoyong our favorite group with a person who is discovering them just like we did in the past. 💜
Hi from Australia, I'm probably considered Silver ARMY as I'm 62. This song can make me cry but happy tears, these guys changed my life nearly 4 years ago. I'm happy you're learning how talented they are and will have so many first time experiences with them.
2017 silver/Ol’DopeARMY here!!!! 55yrs …. BORAHAE !!
I also just subbed 😀 👍💜
That was all very well said, thank you friend 💜
Please consider reacting to the member guide The Bangtan 7...it is long, but i promise we'll watch the whole thing with you!
- a danish ARMY, age 47 💜
Right!!!??!
Thank you for giving them a chance.
Love your explanation. It's true and so clear. ^__^
ARMY is AWESOME! I would TRUST my 5 little GREAT-GRANDBABIES to anyone in ARMY! 💜
make sure you listen to the end. You missed the crowd singing to them on their own and it's so cool!
The ending is beautiful. One of my favorites ever. 💜💜💜
Why do they do that? 😅 Many... They don't let me finish the video.
16:05 it is to the fans.
Magic Shop is a special song dedicated to the army,
They found me in the end of 2019 when I was about to end my life, that time I lost my love... my job... one of my best friend to the pandemic, I heard this song from the next room and it really hit me... all the memories I had with all the people I love is playing like a movie in my mind.
Here I am now....still alive and keep digging my way to the rabbit whole....😊😊😊
Thank you for giving them a chance... thank you for understanding their talent and loving their music....
And don't worry about how long the video is...
There's no such thing as "To long !" video about BTS for Army's....
💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
💜
That's not arena...that's stadium...over 50.000 army there
We do look a bit like a galaxy to them with our sea of lights. I think that's one of the reasons they often use that metaphor with us. :)
You should watch the video, ARMY Sings Young Forever for BTS at Wembley (Enjoy BTS More channel)
BTS ALWAYS sing live. When there are intense dances they do have a low backing track playing so they can take a breath! It is those voice wobbles, the ad libs, those little changes from the original that makes it special. We always say we don't want a perfect BTS, we want a REAL BTS.💜
Thanks for your time and thoughts. ARMY will never think a reaction is too long 😊💜
For real, we’d watch a 3 hr video for BTS
@@fayethayer1677 and way more than once hahahaha.... 💜
@@JoSedunary😂that's true 💜💜💜
We watched Jin play video games for 3 hours and watched JK just sleep. Long videos are our thing!
G DRAGON THE KING ,,,
Yes, this is a song for ARMY.
BTS concerts are AMAZING I've seen them at SOFI stadium in California and experiencing them with 70,000 other armys is enlightening.
(Just a personal preference!)
No matter how much I love their solo work, my heart will always be with the OT7 songs where all 7 weave in and out, like this one, because I agree with you - the way they blend into a seamless whole without losing their individual voices is amazing.
BTS sold out Wembley 2 nights running, the first night sold out in 90 minutes, the second night even faster💜
Yes Magic Shop was conceived by JK for Army
They absolutely sing all of their songs live! I flew from the midwest to LA for their concert back in 2021, and you can 100% here their constant live vocals and it's astounding how stable they sound despite the constant moving and choreo! I don't think I'll ever have a better concert experience than what BTS gives to their fans!
One of my absolute most favorite lines, "You gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you." BTS are always there with encouraging words or ARMY, or and one willing to listen. The group and the fandom have a very symbiotic relationship, of continual back and forth support.
This ...live..makes me cry
We once watched butter melt for two hours just because BTS was connected 😂
I saw them in NJ with ~70,000 people.

These boys have so much of their heart and soul scattered across so many genres of music. Watching you slowly see how they have worked so hard and loved even harder is such an enjoyable experience for us! They always say you find BTS when you need them💜
I do follow a UA-cam page called EnjoyBtsMore.
I haven't gotten to perform for 40,000 but I know for sure I'd jump at the chance 😁
I'm not trying to argue, sorry if it comes across that way - just offering another perspective. I think they genuinely love being in front of the ARMY galaxy 💜
@@evantesseract737 they live for it
Ty for acknowledging the live vocals!
This song lives in my heart rent free!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Please react to dimple and pide piper or the song in Japanese your eyes tell....beautiful live performances
They have never not sold out a stadium. They sold out all starting with the very first one in NY at Citifield
First and foremost know that armies will watch any video of any length as long as you’re being honest. So, pause and give us your true reaction. Watch it 10 times if you want. We literally watched butter melt for an hour. 😂
Magic Shop a safe place in our hearts and minds d's. ARMY can use the Magic Shop when needed.
KPOP idols apparently often train by singing while running on treadmills.
the lyrics in this video is NOT auto translated.. RMs parts are oftentimes poetic.
It wasn't over😅 never end a BTS video before it's really done.
Thanks for watching and letting me know. I’ll let future videos play till the very end.
@@CuriousityTV-Draxcan you reaction jhope with j. Cole on the street?
💜
Will do, Coming soon
As for this video, the subtitles are accurate and correct
As a non-American reading lyrics to songs has always been part of my music listening experience, so yeah I know what you mean
I agree. There’s something about reading the lyrics and listening to it at the same time, it hits you deep
Borahae!!! 💜💜💜
Magic shop Main songwriter/producer is Jungkook ❤
Yes they are singing live :)
Yes, you are right. Magic Shop is one of the songs they did for ARMY.
I love watching new people discover BTS.
Those aren't cell phones. They are ARMY bombs and are programed to every concert. Wild effect.
Magic BTS Army
Help? He was the main writer and producer.
Gracias por la reacción BTS jin perfecto vocal🫰💜💜💜💜💜🇦🇷 Argentina
ARMY STILL HERE! There are many, many LONG videos of BTS & so WORTH your time! 💜 Thank you so much for reacting. I especially liked your statement towards the end about being forced to read the lyrics and think about them. THAT’s BTS, DEEP MESSAGES! 💜
I'm 43 years old and i love bts, their music makes me feel happy positive and valued, i listen to them every day.
Check out Agust D (Suga’s solo work stage name). You’ll find deep emotional relatable lyrics there.
Can't even explain how much i love this song, it probably saved millions of lives i just hope they know how much they are precious and loved by us❤️
Biggest band in the world in this generation and future gen. Thank u for appreciating Jimins highnotes. Jin also and Jk.
Awwww magic shop, this is the song that made me ARMY cuz I watched it when I was going through a hard time
Their concerts are indeed amazing, great crowd
Thank you. 💜
Regardless how huge the arena is, BTS will sell out their tickets within minutes.💜💜💜
