Re: physical fitness - at the start of the pandemic I weighed 260 pounds at 6 foot 2, I was unhealthy, overweight and had high blood pressure. I just got down to 189 this Monday when I went to go weigh. Moreover, I can lift way more than I could, I have abs now, no excess fat around my neck, dropped 6 inches off my waist, went from a size 48 shirt to 42, and my blood pressure is back to normal levels. I didn't take Ozempic or any weight loss drugs - I committed to walking between 1.5 and 3.5 miles a day, bike 5x a week on a stationary bike for 30-40 minutes a session, lift weights while I have down time WFH, switched to an organic diet of 90% vegetarian meals with lean, non-processed proteins like tuna, cod, tempeh and chicken and got rid of ALL fast food, snack foods and empty snacking. And I did that for five years... and will do it until I die. You don't have to do this for very long before you start seeing really good results too, maybe six months or so and you will absolutely see a difference, and I'm not staving myself. I'm never hungry, I pretty much get to eat whatever I want, I still have treats and desserts in my diet in small portions. I NEVER have to count calories, it all just kinda works. I highly suggest when walking, walk with your wife or girlfriend, someone to talk to, or use the time to listen to podcasts or books so your mind stays busy. I only watch TV or movies when I'm on the bike, no other time unless it's movie night with my wife. I'm 34 now and in better shape than I was when I was half my age.

@AJohnSmith Never. You never know how good being skinny feels until you get fat and then get thin again. Basic shit like walking up stairs is hard when youre fat; you dont fit in car seats right, you have a hard time finding clothes at stores, etc. Every now and again to remind myself of how much weight Ive lost, I'll grab a couple of 35 pound kettlebells and walk around the house.

I train with 12-14 other guys that live in my neighborhood, 2 doctors, an engineer, and the rest of us different tradesmen from many categories. We have a plan for anything from hurricanes to public unrest. We all have com's, weapons, and plenty of ammo, food resources and medical, we already have an agreement of the plans to secure our neighborhood in any situation. Most of us are either ex military or government employees before our careers, all of our households know one another and understand what's needed from each and every one if the case arrives..Stay healthy, stay alert, stay fast and train..

Great video Ivan, awesome stuff. I'm 45 and fortunate to have been a life-long athlete and have worked physical jobs my whole life (FF/Medic and now Tradesman) and I've got an amazing wife/family and land all our own up in the N.Idaho Mountains... No matter the situations or circumstances around us our plan remains the same: Be together and be as self-sufficient as we can be in any given situation. Everything else seems to not matter as much when you have a good family around you in a place you love.

I have a childhood friend that I watched go from 180-600lbs and now he cant get out of bed. His family dumped him in a home and he has no one because he won't help himself. He's addicted to food and cannot stop eating. He is very angry with us because we won't be there to sneak him food. I pray for him every night.

Everything here is soo well said!
Here's my 2 cents (after suffering being fat most of my adult life, and then loosing 30lbs, almost effortlessly)
Big tip: Eating less is a useless frame! (sorry Kit Badger - but here's a better one hopefully :) -->
*Your fullness is not a function of actual calories consumed,*
but it's more given by volume of food and type of food.
If you eat low energy-density foods like steaks, eggs - basically protein, you will feel full even when you're not.
Abstain from high-energy density stuff like sugar (Donuts, Ice Cream, etc.) - just have infinite steaks, greens etc. - trust me, you will loose weight.
*You will have to overcome sugar addiction though* - most people have it by this point - but if you can stay off it for a month, addiction will subside.
    Remember - *Sugar. Is. Poison.*
Then you will be feeling full even when you're not, therefore actually *Eating Less* like KitBadger says (so you're right Badger - actually factually right - but saying it is a useless frame)

    • @IndependentArmz

I would agree if you were right...I eat tons of sugar...It's about being active if you do..move yourself alot, or don't eat sugar...You CAN eat suger if you aren't someone who sits motionless alot.

I do push ups a few times a week. And, a couple other basic exercises. But, not much at all. Mostly just active.
