Robin is beyond human sometimes. He has been always will be the best and most romantic rock and roll singer. I just wish the whole world would appreicaiate his that., along with his talent as one of the best tenors in the world .Wpuld love to see a duet between Robin Zander and (believe it or not, Tom Jones.) I would die happy after that!
Someone gave me a dvd of this whole concert about a year ago. Robin (no surprise) simply blows you away. His rendition of Nights in White Satin just sends chills up your spine.
This is my bedtime song if I have trouble getting to sleep. The first listen sends chills through me. Yet, I'm strangely relaxed by the end. Ready to sleep, or a second listen to put me away. To a woman that man's voice, & this song especially, is like a siren song which would steer a ship off course & ground her ship, taking her very life. As long as Robin just kept singing, it would be okay... Totally mesmerizing.
OMG Robin's voice makes me melt. It's one in a million. I've seen Cheap Trick in Fresno 30 years ago. I'm so excited to get to finally see them again next month at House of Blues!!!!! 5 hr. drive well worth it. Keep on Rockin CT !!!!!
Does anyone else think Robin would sound amazing on a cover of "I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner? I'm sixteen and I'm going to my first Cheap Trick concert next week, I can't wait! Please comment back!
@TXFSamanthaMulder I'm not a fan of that Foreigner tune but Robin could make ANY song sound great. Cheap Trick was my 1st concert, the Dream Police tour 1979 or 1980. It got me excited about live music & I haven't slowed down since then. Hope your 1st CT show was awesome for you!
DetroitRockCity Sorry to break it to you, but that is not a Foreigner tune. It was written by the singer of the Moody Blues. In the future, it might help save you from embarrassment if you read the description before you post.
DetroitRockCity And yes, my first Cheap Trick concert was awesome. It was in the the early 80's at a water park in Dania Beach, Florida called Atlantis. The performance area was quite intimate in size & everyone in the audience was in bathing suits, of course. Many of the girls up front were so excited that they just ripping their bikinis off & throwing them onto onstage at Robin & Rick's feet. Security kept having to rush in. The hefty security forces would forcefully roll up the naked women up in huge rugs (?) in order to haul the kicking & struggling girls away. It really was a hoot! All in good fun! I had always hoped those girls just got thrown out & not arrested. They hadn't hurt anybody. Rick showed one bikini top had a phone number written it. Those were the days

+lambchops71 He put on the concert, from what I've read in several interviews! Do you happen to know if more of this video is available elsewhere? Thanks!

Love the conductor . How he shrugs his shoulders after the chorus is priceless.
That was Rick Nielsen's Dad conducting. Later in that program, Mr. Nielsen and Robin perform an opera duet.
I was there! 💙

Robin has now made me like this song. Beautiful!

❤ Robin
Excellent
Man of a thousand voices, along with Brian Connolly, two of the very best frontman with voices to back themselves up.
Yes...That is Ralph Nielsen. I miss that old man...and I mean that in a really respectful way. Rick's parents were the sweetest people.

The best voice in Rock and Roll ♥️🎶

Yes i think it is.
+lambchops71 He put on the concert, from what I've read in several interviews! Do you happen to know if more of this video is available elsewhere? Thanks!

GREAT BUT JUSTIN STILL IS THE MAN
Ehhhh...??
Ohhh ok
Nice job, but he doesn’t have the range, polish or depth of Justin Hayward... He’s trying too hard...
I seriously doubt Robin has to try hard to do ANYthing. His vocals are amazing.
Next to Steve Marriott he has the best Rock and Roll voice range of almost anyone else, except for perhaps Richard O'Brian from Rocky Horror.
