Really nice video. I liked how you showed the setting but also followed up the next day to show results. Hope you consider making more videos. Best regards,
awsome video Tom! been trappin rats but aint had ice yet. but where i been trappin i wouldnt be able to see mud trail cause its a creek that is always muddy. moved to a lake today so if it starts freezin ill start tryin these out! good luck and hope u have manh great seasons to come!
Too much work for a small muskrat...damn! I like that method of putting the 1" x 2" through the eye of the 110, does it really fit in there? I thought the eye of the 110 spring was small.
I love the videos. Im going to have to check out your website. I live in Central Wisconsin so maybe il see you out on the line. take care and keep on trapping
i live on a lake and one of my neighbors built a log type barrier to keep his land from eroding and i have seen muskrat activity around my lake and he has several complaints about muskrats breaching his wall, i tried looking for a entrance but could not find one, i was wondering about a underwater trap that would be effective and a bait that would be good :)
Just wondering do you eat those muskrats.I have heard of folk eating them .So what do they taste like. Now don't tell it taste like chicken LOL.they got to be clean meat..I live in TX and we have those a lot of them. Also is there a fur mark for them
YOu take the cleaned muskrats and boil them for 45 minutes with sage. Then you put flour on them and fry them ten minutes on each side in olive oil and onion. They are the best dark meat there is. There is no comparison. The meat is so soft and no fat. It's not like eating fat cows. It's so good I can eat three big ones with the meal. But boiling them is important to soften them If ou fried them all you would brown them too mcuh, but I have never tried it.
Tom I want to get into the buisness of trapping ya see my great grand father use to trap but no one in the family seems to want to trap and I've herd a lot of storys told from my grandmother about my great grampy and I became very interested in trapping I baught my first trap (live trap) so i could learn a little about trapping but when I come of age Im going to trap and I've been watching your videos so I could learn how trap. so if you have any first time tips for me please tell. thank you.
