  • Born in New England and raised in North Carolina, Kate Taylor's dual musical heritage is one she shares with brothers James, Livingston, Hugh, and her late brother Alex. In this episode of "The Vineyard Scene", Kate talks about spending summers on the island as a child, and brings us back to the Vineyard of the 60s and 70s with stories about the music scene past and present, and about setting up a life on the island.

Awesome . I Was going to build a tee pee on my land years ago , never got around to it, had it all laid out too. Realy didnt know james T. had a sister till recently lol . Cool enough! I was watching a video of her brothers late last nite , where he and Joni M. visited the hopi indians reservation I believe most likely shamans ceremony underground with snakes. And Then came the rain from a blue sky! Interesting video as well as this was. Id imagine she hit a few pow wows on the cape . Good stuff Nice Tee Pee / I always wanted to have one with Some image paintings on the outside. like Apache/ love it when the tops all sooted on the outside.

    Dear Kate,
In my 20's I sold a stereo to your mom (from Tweeter Etc. in Boston) and in exchange for installing it she said she's make her homemade clam chowda. I caught the last ferry in a blizzard (in a French Renault) and stayed up late looking at family pics, talking and enjoying red wine while we talked about trying to save the world.
One of the best times in my life.
Does she still have Joni's seashells next to that guest bed?
I love the singing Taylor family!
    Best,
    EAD
