@416 DIY --Thanks for the video. Gave me the confidence to even take on this VERY EASY project; I thought it was going to be tough or require a trip to the shop ($$$). With that said, I noticed as I was buttoning up, you really don't need to take off the under pieces at all in order to reach the location of the Resistor. If you lay on your stomach flat, its way in the back, and on my 2011 Mazda 3s the plastic piece stopped right before that, basically a 6"x6" window right to it. However, the plastic pieces only added another 2 minutes, overall was less than 5--So folks, this is extremely easy. Subbed, Thanks!
I changed my filter and now the blower stopped working. Thanks for this video. I’m going to see if my resistor has a lose connection of if it’s NFG now.
@@sooflex15 Nope AC light wouldn't turn on at max fan speed and other slower fan speeds would make my fan stop blowing but I could turn on the AC on those slower fan speeds even though it didn't work lol.
@@sooflex15 yes my AC compressor working while fans not blowing is still my AC not working on my book lol just like my fans working and AC compressor not working is still the ac not working imo
Wow, you made that look easy. I have a 2012 Mazda 3, so I am hoping this is pretty close to my system. One question. Is there an easy way to test the blower to see if that was the cause of the resistor going, to ensure the new resistor doesn't go again? Thanks.
Hi, i know this post was awhile ago, but I have the same question and I see you didn’t get an answer. I have heat on the high setting, but the a/c light goes out and no cold air on high. Did you ever find an answered this? Wondering if this issue will resolve that as well. 😕
@@MultiBookitty Just changed out the resistor on my Son's 2010 Mazda 3 and the AC would shutoff on level 4 but would seem to be on on the lower levels but no air would come out but on level 4 you could feel cold air for a second or 2 before coming out hot. Once replaced and the blower would turn on in the lower levels the AC/ cold air worked again.
Man! You are a lifesaver. At a workshop they asked me for $225, I bought the resistor for $150 and replaced it by myself. Thanks a lot.
Damn, that resistor was $150?! I got mine at the junkyard, I think I paid 5 bucks for it.
Yes, I was thinking $150 was expensive as well. Did you go straight to Mazda for the part ? 😮

Oh man, thanks buddy! I just bought a 2010 in January for a steal and failed to test the fans! This was uploaded right on time for me.
man, you did an excellent job of this step by step...many thanks
Life saver. Haynes manual said I had to disassemble the instrument cluster, steering column, and pedals.
If you replace the blower motor itself, you'll need to do all that. I hope to never have to do that job, sounds like a chore.

Oh man, I hope you don't have to end up replacing the blower motor. I hope my 3 dies before I ever need to do that job.
Thank you so much I did change it my self. It was extremely helpful your video
Exactly what I needed man great video
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I have the same car model and exactly the same problem
Ah i was wondering why my AC wouldnt work and only blow on 4. Thank you bro
Glad it helped
Wait so your ac didn’t work at all?

But in previous message you said you was “wondering why my ac wouldn’t work”. My fans are blowing at it’s on speed but it’s not cold though

Were you able to figure this out?
thank you for making this, i fixed mine
Do you have the link where you buy it ? Or the part number?
Question. When you have the cold air on the 4th setting does it actually blow cold air? Does the “ac” button even light up on the 4th speed?

Great work. Any idea why the resistors go? Is it a common problem with this car?
Good question. Moisture from the outside air goes through the air box in the dash and slowly corrodes it.
I just chang the new one and after few months it get trouble again. The first ít’s happens with speed # 4
now it’s happened with #3 !!
what's the best way to get to the resistor. I can't get myself underneath there to reach it
If the forth setting used to blow but now it makes a thudding sound when it’s on could it still be resistor or did I wait too long and need a motor?
Wish they would have put the resistors in this location on the earlier Mazda 3s 😢
I spent $800 on parts and labor having my blower motor replaced. After watching your video, i wonder if it was only my resistor that went bad 😅
That's brutal, but I have to assume it did need a new blower motor. It's too bad that the design makes it so complicated to replace.
Thank you sir.
Fantastic
Thank you
Will this control the temp as well? I have hot air intermittently blowing out but no AC at all.
This is what I need to know , like does this control the a/c temp?
Where can i get the new resistor?
Thank you
Why does my resistor get hot?
Resistor disperses the heat for the AC and Internal fan
Bravo! awesome ,
I changed resistor but nothing worked. 😔
