My M1 iPad Pro is a WORKHORSE in my everyday life. I use it for note taking in my remote job, but also for editing UA-cam videos in Lumafusion. Here is where I run into a problem. When I'm working from home, I like to use Paperlike screen protectors on my iPad to have a better note taking experience, but when I'm editing or watching content... I like a transparent protector. ESR has finally given me the best of both worlds! I'm late to the game, but I just discovered ESR's Magnetic Paperfeel Matte Screen Protector. However... does it work well? Could this be the BEST Screen Protector for iPad PRO ?

they are perfect for using the ipad as a pdf reader as well. the e ink readers have the problem of low refresh rate on the screen.

I keep this screen on permanently because it cuts down on the glare when I use my iPad outdoors. Screen brightness is fine for me
Loved this review! I saw an older review of the ESR magnetic screen protector, but the one the customer got wasn’t actually “magnetic”! It was just two adhesive strips on the side. So! I was wary of purchasing one, but yours looks perfect! I’ll have to give it a try!

One of the thing that this protector does is making the screen matt and show less reflection on the screen when in a very lit room or place like outside. It does dim the colours a little bit (at least the esr magnetic matt protector), but it’s so much worth it when you draw. The cons of having a paper like screen protector are so few that I would prefer this over a tempered glass protector.

I like the idea of this. Paper like screen protectors are great for writing, but they are total trash for resolution and clarity. So, the idea of just using it when you need it, sounds like a good idea.

This is great! Had one question I was hoping you could answer? I got the screen protector application tools with it like wipes and dust removers. Do I need to use these?
Thank you! I wouldn't say it's required, BUT you CAN use them every now and then just to keep things clean. I just use a spray and microfiber cloth most of the time.
I just bought this same one along with a tempered glass for base (I live near the beach, sand blows in everywhere and scratches are gonna happen) on my new iPad. Everything just arrived and I was doubting my decisions to buy two screen protectors. But I am a screen snob! And I also want to start using iPad for my artsty stuff. Those are two very different screen requirements. So I went to ask UA-cam if it's easy to keep removing the magnetic one and have a dual purpose screen... thank you Nate for reinforcing my purchasing decisions. You just got a new subscriber :)

Great video! Before I buy it though I have a question. On my iPad I currently have the ESR glass screen protector. Will the magnetic screen protector work with the other one underneath or do I have to remove it first? Because honestly the glass screen protector is top notch quality and I’m very conflicted whether I should replace it or not. Then again, I want to be able to draw comfortably so I don’t really know what to do
Yes! Itll still work. I like the feel of it a bit better when it’s directly on the screen… but as long as you’re using a thin screen protector, it works well 👏🏼

Thank you! So, I do all my video editing on LumaFusion via iPad. The cover is made by “Editors Keys” and it shows all of the LumaFusion keyboard shortcuts! I’m thinking about switching to DaVinci Resolve for editing in the future, but for now the cover is pretty helpful and it keeps my keys clean.

Great question, so you CAN layer it on top of another protector… but the existing protector has to be a certain thickness for a good experience. I found this answer on Amazon from ESR: “This Paper-Feel Magnetic Screen Protector can be magnetically attached on top a tempered-glass screen protector that is less than 0.33 mm thick”.
I haven’t tried this myself, but if you do… let me know how it works out!

First time I’ve heard of a screen protector with magnets! Question - how are the anti-glare properties; that’s more important to me than getting a “paper like” feel….
Hi there! In my opinion, it’s not a huge difference maker for glare. It helps a little, but not as much as I hoped for.
Not sure if anyone has asked this already, but can you leave the magnetic screen protector on permanently? I’ve always used Paperlike, but have never fully got all the bubbles out to my satisfaction. This sounds pretty much perfect.
You can - I only take off mine when I'm watching a video for the full experience however if you have a magnetic flip case the cover would pull it Off sometimes when you open it (because of the magnet) but That's not a problem for me because it slaps back on with 100% ease

Where did you get hot button stickers for LumaFusion?
It’s actually a full keyboard cover from “editors keys”. Give it a google, you should be able to find it pretty easily!
That’s pretty cool because people get very anxious when messing anything adhesive (or glue) 😂. Also, what app do you use to edit your videos?
I’m one of those anxious people, lol. I use Lumafusion to edit! I’m new to the editing game and it’s been easier to learn for a beginner.

Yes! I do this all the time. I use a damp wash cloth then dry it of course.
Yeah but what about how it PROTECTS THE SCREEN OF CRACKS when dropped . Like the screen protector adheres to the screen and gives it a protective layer and cracks. Effie the screen does , that’s the biggest and most important thing they do . How does this accommodate with that

Highly recommend do not travel with it already ruined a few as they got scratched or dirty even in the case

@@nmpoy it will work! I think using it on the actual screen gives the Apple Pencil a slight better feel, but it will definitely work 🎉

any dust under that protector will damage the glass of the device…
Maybe so! When I notice stray dust particles, I just remove it and give the device and protector a good cleaning 🧼
