Question of the Day: Please practice what you've learned in this lesson and make four sentences using words with each of the negative prefixes: ‘il’, ‘ir’, ‘im’, and ‘in’.
Foremost, I want to thank you for making this video. I found it out useful and clear. Sentences: IN 1. I would like to visit Louisiana next weekend, but my mother-in-law was told that the State is very insecure nowadays . IR 2. These irregular verbs are easy to learn. I always thought you were an irreproachable boy. IM 3. I was getting used to looking up to her, but I changed my mind. She's very impolite. IL 4. Illegible, that's the word that defines your writing.
I appreciate your manner of explaining each word. You can offer yourself another opportunity to make videos with vocabulary words. My inconditional encouragment
Being in a formal situation makes me nervous, I like informal meetings. Before this lesson I didn't know the meaning of the "literate" word. hopefully now I understand the meaning of the "literate" and "illiterate". A broken heart is irreplaceable. The ship sunk because of its Imbalanced cargo.
Last summer, ı read the book whose name is the invisible man. Learning a new language is not impossible if you study so hard. Global warming occurs because of irresponsible human behaviors. If ı don't wear my glasses, sentences on tv become illegible for me. Thank you for your effort! :)
Thanks for your comment, Merve. ☺️ All four of your example sentences are superb! Great job. (I really want to read The Invisible Man, but the libraries in Ontario are still shut down😔 )
Jen, this is a really stimulating lesson to me, like all the others. The rules you explain so well are remarkably interesting. I must confess that maybe I made mistakes when writing words starting with L or R, as I was in doubt whether they doubled these letters or not. Now it is completely clear to me. 1. By keeping in mind these rules, it´ll be ILLOGICAL if I make more mistakes. 2. Making these type o mistakes from now on, will be an IRREGULAR situation. 3. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to learn more new words if we do not spend more time studying. 4. To learn a new language well, might be kind of INTERMINABLE. Thanks a lot,Jen, for passing on your knowledge so well-defined. It surely brightens me deeply. 🌹👏
Hi Santiago, thanks for another really lovely comment. ☺️ Your four example sentences using the negative prefixes are truly excellent. I especially love #4. 😉 Even as a native English speaker, when reading there are still words I occasionally have to look up. 😅
Hi Pedro. ☺️ Thanks for your comment. I've made a lesson on Canadian slang: ua-cam.com/video/lM8IGRmwxYc/v-deo.html I've also created a lesson on common informal contractions, which are a type of slang: ua-cam.com/video/o8Bo6vPj9zU/v-deo.html Is there another type of slang lesson you'd be interested in?
Wow, thank you for your inspiring comment☺️. I'm very glad to hear that this lesson was helpful for you. I hope all is going well with your situation. 💐
Two weeks seems far away, but at least you have a date so you can look forward to that time and feel more positive knowing that there is an end to the situation coming soon! 👍🏻
1. If we don't change our behaviour and the way we interact with nature, it is illogical that we can have a better world. 2. Irregular verbs are more difficult than regular verbs. 3. A judge must be impartial in all judgments. 4. Laura can't go out with us because her homework is still incomplete.
Yes good evening, how are you, ma'am and that's how you are. No, it's you over there on its own. Yes, but tomorrow morning, we're going back to Paris, that's it. I say I'm going to send you a message, you'll understand, and tomorrow morning, we'll go back to Paris. I return to Paris.
Thanks for your comment. Although 'mate' is British slang for a friend, 'inmate' isn't an example of using the 'in' prefix. 'Mate' starts with the letter M, so if it were possible to add one of the prefixes from this lesson, you'd have to use 'im-', not 'in-'. An inmate is a criminal in jail, a prisoner. It is still possible to be friends with an inmate. "That inmate is my mate." 😉
Hi Jen --- I'm lucky, because I discovered you - it was a big day for me !!! .. You gave me an opportunity to be a better person! with you I can see my way, I can study better ... my best wishes!
Wow, thank you for such a nice comment!☺️ It is great to hear that my lessons have been making a positive difference for you. 🙂 I wish you all the best as well. 💐

Hi Bhagya 🌸. Thanks for your question. If you wanted to say that there is no management at all, like something that is not controlled or regulated, then the word is "Unmanaged." However, if you want to express that fact that something was managed wrongly or badly, then the word is "Mismanaged." Un Prefix: ua-cam.com/video/hjv8T6PLxn0/v-deo.html Mis Prefix: ua-cam.com/video/OBJB5AUgr2g/v-deo.html I hope that helps 🤗.
1. Peter, you know that it's illegal to sell drugs to people, right? 2. Don't be an irresponsible person and do your chores. 3. Sorry but your answer is incorrect. 4. What?! How did you do that? It's impossible!
It seems that is illegal to ride a goose in canada It's irreplaceable to drink a cup of coffee in the morning I'm an impatient person I can't wait too much time the train The way I dress when I'm in my house is inappropriate
Thanks for your fun example sentences with the negative prefixes from this lesson 😄 I'm not actually sure if it is officially illegal to ride a goose, but it definitely is impossible. 😆 Also, geese hiss and bite so be careful not to get too close to them. 😱 🇨🇦
Thank you very much for all your lessons. It’s a lot of fun to learn this little exercises regularly and to feel how my English improves step by step. When I remember to my school lessons, they are mostly boring and I never learned about such fascinating things like the different slangs or sth. like that.
Thanks for your nice comment, Peter. ☺️ I am so happy to hear that you enjoy my lessons and that they are helping you with improving your English. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻 It is a shame that many people feel bored in school. I think that if you aren't having some fun, it is difficult to learn. I'm glad that you find my videos fun. 🙂
Hey Jen. Another great lesson!! Let's kick off: 1- In Brazil the minimun age to buy and consume alcohol is 18, this in the US would be illegal, since their minimun age is 21; 2- Kinds tend to be irresponsible till they to get older enough to understand the concept of consequences; 3- It was impossible to predict that 2020 would be such a dangerous year lol and 4- It's incredible that people still don't use masks when they get outside. Thanks Jen.
Hey Matheus, great example sentences and use of all for negative prefixes from the lesson. ☺️ (PS. we use basic adjective + enough, so in your second sentence it should be, "Kids tend to be irresponsible till they to get old enough to understand the concept of consequences.")

NO OR YES
Il, Ir, Im, and In as prefixes all mean "not".
