For my family, usually we do the grocery for hari raya much earlier so we won’t be double tired ( grocery + cooking) on the same day.. and cooking the raya dish, we will spend like the day before, morning to evening, instead of start cooking in the evening, so we will eat raya dish on the last iftar.. Also because we won’t hv to stay up late as we need to wake up early in the pagi raya.. But you guys definitely did a great job! Just sharing a tips: for rendang not necessarily hv to stir all the time, u may slow down the heat and cover with lid (left it slightly open) until the beef is soft (tho this still take hours). But ya, diff people hv diff style of cooking ;) Dayang did such a great job there!
Yes.. 💪👏👏. As for me, I like the feeling of preparing raya dish in the morning of the last day puasa while listening to raya song. Followed by clean up the house & decorating it. And finally eating raya dish during buka puasa on the last day of puasa while listening to takbir. Because in the night we just rest, play with fireworks, and take turns ironing our best clothes. Never get tired of that feeling!!

For my family we usually start a week before Hari Raya. We clean the house, wash and change the curtain, make kuih raya (it can up to 6 to 10 types of kuih raya), make the dishes and also prepare the Baju Kurung to wear on the day. Very busy🤣 Mostly dishes like ketupat, lemang and sweets like dodol took a lot of time to prepare.
it’s actually more fun doing the preparation in Malaysia especially when celebrating at villages with cousins, uncles, aunties and grandpa and grandma. i’m always excited for malam raya instead of celebrating it😂 i really really love takbir raya 🥺my heart is so soft and touching bila dengar je takbir raya😂one malaysia so meriah with fireworks everywhere starting 12 am untill morning.

Usually few days before raya, people will do the preparation with their whole family, including cousin ,grandparents or maybe their relatives. Everyone will stay in kampung/village in their grandparents house for few days . The whole house is full to the point everyone will sleep in the living room too 😂and honestly that's the best part, it's a huge celebration where we creates memory with our families together. (especially for those who have big family)
That's so true..cause that was our family tradition for until my grandparents both died..Their house was crowded not only with grandchildrens but also their great-grandchildrens ( cicit).. And I'm telling you guys that I have a huge family, just imagine how chaotic the situation was.. Everyone would help for the Raya preparation from making Raya Food, Kuih Raya, cleaning the house and other chores.. but the fun fact was after finishing our chores we would play fireworks until midnight without getting scolded, those were definitely my greatest memories I will never forget. We still meet and gather on Raya but it's not the same like those days cause now most are married and have families..
Tbh me as a malay also never cook rendang. It's always my mom or my older sister who does the cooking so thumbs-up for u guys in successfully cooking it. Thank you so much for loving Malaysia food & culture even more than a real malaysian😘😘

Lol. Betul sangat-sangat. For that one time, I helped my family to cook dodol. It took hours and hours. Then, they divided it among the nearest neighbours who also help to prepare the dodol and also the lemang. Usually, both are the work for men. Because the amount of energy that both of them require especially looking for buluh and prepare fire to cook the lemang. But i know how to prepare and cook various kind of ketupat such as ketupat daun palas and ketupat daun kelapa and nasi impit is the easiest one.
Yes . If you cooking by yourself u need almost 7 hours to cook for only 3 dishes . Rendang . Kuah kacang n kuah lodeh . Fheewww . For the next episode i can't wait hahahhhaa . Jade n Dasol nak duit raya . Kannnnnn hahahaha #agenda
Yeap, it usually takes a long time to prepare menu hari raya.. i happened to experience such a panic situation in the middle of preparing hari raya dishes this year.. where we have succesfully cook rendang ayam and about to start making kuah kacang but gas was giving up on us. Moreover, we haven't make nasi impit yet. Luckily, we have multipurpose pressure cooker so we used it instead.. so lesson of the day please prepare extra gas a day before raya to a better hari raya celebration😂😂😂

Probably a week before Hari Raya Us MALAYSIAN will be very busy...we would make kuih-muih and much more...We probably will be up until 3-4 a.m a day before Raya cause For cook tentang took literally 1-2 hours...and for decorating the house will take 2 hours...Iron Clothes and much more it will be frustrating when you already done all the things then Someone accidentally spoil some tentang or terpecah kan Barang an hours before The day... In the song 'Suasana Hari Raya' there's a phrase 'Ketupat, rendang, sila nikmati, kawan penat memasak malam ke pagi' which means 'Please enjoy the Ketupat and Rendang that were made by the people since night until morning'. So cooking for raya until 3-4am is actually pretty common in Malaysia.
that is the good thing about malaysian people have many sibling, because in this day all force are required, one person are in charge of making kuih raya, one helping mother cook the main dishes, one cleaning the house and one inserting duit raya into sample. aww I'm happy by just remember it. the best part for me is pelita thing because it so beautiful

we usually do the groceries shopping and the kuih raya part like a week before raya. the Raya eve is usually specifically dedicated for cooking the more tedious and time consuming dish like rendang, nasi impit or ketupat. and also last minute cleaning of the house to prepare for hari raya. and actually, you don't need to stir the rendang all the time. only occasionally to ensure the bottom doesn't get crusty or burned. but for someone who's never made rendang all their lives, you guys did really well. massive respect for you to get those all done in a day. glad to see you guys enjoyed raya and raya food so much you even went through all the effort to make it happen in Korea.
it has been 2/3 years since i made rendang on top of the stove...nowadays i made rendang by using pressure cooker...really save time...instead of waiting for the usual 2 to 3 hours cooking time...it was done in 30 - 50 minutes...i really applaud your effort though...this is really the way to feel the festive vibe of hari raya...☺️☺️☺️

Cooking raya food took so much time..i had been cooking rendang, laksa & ketupat for raya my house for more than a decade & its very time consuming..i started with slicing cow meat & grind coconut in the morning, continue with rendang prep, cooked glutinous rice for ketupat, wrap ketupat & steam it, cook for iftar & then continue with laksa prep.. it's usually took me till 2-3am to finish it all..

If you want to prepare quick rendang ..use chicken instead of beef..for beef it takes hours to cook and almost an hour for the preparation of ingredients before you blend it all .. I'm a 40+ old mom..every Raya i would cook Raya dishes for my family n the guest..and usually if i stared after isyak..i would finish around 3 something in the morning..its energy taxing but worth all the sweat..you hv some kind of satisfaction in your heart..and hoping people would enjoy the food..
This is EXTREME raya preparation omg. This is like, during old times. Now, usually we'd prepare kuih raya at least several days before hari raya. Some people will prepare much earlier, like in the middle of ramadhan. The kuih raya will be put into an airtight container so it is kept safe. Nowadays, many people will also just buy from kuih raya sellers that they know. Making of rendang. Some family will cook rendang earlier too in big quantity. Bcs rendang will usually be reheated multiple times. It will help with the sauce consistency and taste. My mother will start cooking rendang at night, a day/two days before hari raya specifically to avoid staying up late the night of hari raya lol. On the night of hari raya, we will just cook nasi impit to eat the next morning and put kuih raya into kuih raya containers. The amount of dishes planned is a lot for this since it was for open house but the time available is very short so this is tortuous to see.

This is really good episodes... Well this year, we started cooking for Hari Raya dishes after Subuh prayer time, we started to cook beef and chicken rendang,then nasi impit, sambal kacang, also sambal Jawa... All that from 7ish in the morning till 4pm, since we're celebrate Hari Raya at home, it's the shortest time of preparing the food. If at Kampung, we will continue cooking after Iftar, prepare kuah lodeh, satay and ayam masak merah or kicap.... We made kuih raya started third week of Puasa...and not forget kek raya too... We prepared all the ingredients one day earlier... It's so fun to watch and helping cooking food for Hari Raya... The best family occasion once in a year.....

The rendang took ages probably because A) There was no kerisik lol B) They used a non stick pan nonetheless, good job ladies! Can't wait to see more! This year raya i did all the cooking since i moved out to my new house with hubby. Made sambal tumis udang kering, nasi impit, soto ayam, satay goreng! All done a day before raya because everything was prepared 2-3 days in advance haha

For kuih raya, usually we prepare a week before Hari Raya and for all Hari Raya menu; rendang, nasi impit etc, we cook a day before from morning till before iftar. After iftar, we put kuih raya in the container. And of course, it depends on family. Btw, Jade's mom is so cute. So lovely. 💐
you know there is a lot type of rendang.. rendang hitam, rendang tok, rendang merah, rendang hijau and etc.. usually my mom will cook green chicken rendang for 2 hours.. and beef rendang for 3 to 5 hours to ensure it taste superb good.. so yeah, that's the reason why we stay until early in morning just to cook the night before raya..🤣🤣🤣 but somehow, even if you only sleep for 4 hours night b4 raya with tiring body and mind, you still woke up early on raya morning and feel great .
Well done Blimey's, Dayang & Nuryna.. yes Blimey its takes time to cook all the main dishes Rendang, kuah kacang, Kuah Lodeh & nasi impit, Ketupat palas... but its all worth it at the end when all family's gathered helping hand in hand ... we loves that moment... ☺️

we usually do the groceries shopping and the kuih raya part like a week before raya. the Raya eve is usually specifically dedicated for cooking the more tedious and time consuming dish like rendang, nasi impit or ketupat. and also last minute cleaning of the house to prepare for hari raya. and actually, you don't need to stir the rendang all the time. only occasionally to ensure the bottom doesn't get crusty or burned. but for someone who's never made rendang all their lives, you guys did really well. massive respect for you to get those all done in a day. glad to see you guys enjoyed raya and raya food so much you even went through all the effort to make it happen in Korea.
it has been 2/3 years since i made rendang on top of the stove...nowadays i made rendang by using pressure cooker...really save time...instead of waiting for the usual 2 to 3 hours cooking time...it was done in 30 - 50 minutes...i really applaud your effort though...this is really the way to feel the festive vibe of hari raya...☺️☺️☺️

Hahahah when foreigners asking for the measurement of the foods, the Malaysian people will say "agak - agak je", which means it's up to you, so don't be shocked....Gordon Ramsay have been in Malaysia and he also experienced the same...he surprised at the aunty who told her "agak - agak" to put in the salt to the rendang😂...Malaysian people are talented in "agak - agak" 😉

This is just a small dish for an open house but if in malaysia the amount of the food is totally incredible because when we do open house all of our friend, niece and family will come to celebrate together HAHAHAH but you not try yet to"gaul dodol dalam kawah" HAHAHAHA
Cooking raya food took so much time..i had been cooking rendang, laksa & ketupat for raya my house for more than a decade & its very time consuming..i started with slicing cow meat & grind coconut in the morning, continue with rendang prep, cooked glutinous rice for ketupat, wrap ketupat & steam it, cook for iftar & then continue with laksa prep.. it's usually took me till 2-3am to finish it all..
Jika di pagi raya ada takbir raya...mesti mengalir airmata Dayang dan Nuryna. Begitu juga Lagu Raya. Apa pun tahniah dapat memasak hidangan untuk pagi raya dengan jayanya.

If you want to prepare quick rendang ..use chicken instead of beef..for beef it takes hours to cook and almost an hour for the preparation of ingredients before you blend it all .. I'm a 40+ old mom..every Raya i would cook Raya dishes for my family n the guest..and usually if i stared after isyak..i would finish around 3 something in the morning..its energy taxing but worth all the sweat..you hv some kind of satisfaction in your heart..and hoping people would enjoy the food..

This is EXTREME raya preparation omg. This is like, during old times.
Now, usually we'd prepare kuih raya at least several days before hari raya. Some people will prepare much earlier, like in the middle of ramadhan. The kuih raya will be put into an airtight container so it is kept safe. Nowadays, many people will also just buy from kuih raya sellers that they know.
Making of rendang. Some family will cook rendang earlier too in big quantity. Bcs rendang will usually be reheated multiple times. It will help with the sauce consistency and taste. My mother will start cooking rendang at night, a day/two days before hari raya specifically to avoid staying up late the night of hari raya lol.
On the night of hari raya, we will just cook nasi impit to eat the next morning and put kuih raya into kuih raya containers.
The amount of dishes planned is a lot for this since it was for open house but the time available is very short so this is tortuous to see.

Im so happy watching this episode.. coz I’ve experienced about the preparation a day before raya.. you will stay awake till 3-4am.. but this year i stay awake till 5.15AM just to simmer the daging kurma.. but at the end im so happy that with all that efforts my family’s enjoy the food that i cooked with my mom.. please do a lot video for raya.. i wish blimey can stay in local village in malaysia so they can see how malaysian prepare the food before raya..

Well this year, we started cooking for Hari Raya dishes after Subuh prayer time, we started to cook beef and chicken rendang,then nasi impit, sambal kacang, also sambal Jawa... All that from 7ish in the morning till 4pm, since we're celebrate Hari Raya at home, it's the shortest time of preparing the food.
If at Kampung, we will continue cooking after Iftar, prepare kuah lodeh, satay and ayam masak merah or kicap....
We made kuih raya started third week of Puasa...and not forget kek raya too...
We prepared all the ingredients one day earlier...
It's so fun to watch and helping cooking food for Hari Raya... The best family occasion once in a year.....

This year raya i did all the cooking since i moved out to my new house with hubby. Made sambal tumis udang kering, nasi impit, soto ayam, satay goreng! All done a day before raya because everything was prepared 2-3 days in advance haha
For my family, we usually shop all the ingredients the day before cooking or early in the morning..and yes, we will cook the dishes for Raya the whole day and last iftar with it.. For kuih raya, usually we prepare a week before Hari Raya and for all Hari Raya menu; rendang, nasi impit etc, we cook a day before from morning till before iftar. After iftar, we put kuih raya in the container.
And of course, it depends on family.

you know there is a lot type of rendang.. rendang hitam, rendang tok, rendang merah, rendang hijau and etc.. usually my mom will cook green chicken rendang for 2 hours.. and beef rendang for 3 to 5 hours to ensure it taste superb good.. so yeah, that's the reason why we stay until early in morning just to cook the night before raya..🤣🤣🤣 but somehow, even if you only sleep for 4 hours night b4 raya with tiring body and mind, you still woke up early on raya morning and feel great

This year, i cooked for raya meal with only my sister.. My mum passed away, so it was only the two of us cooking for the festive day, oo boyy, finished at 2 am.. Nasi minyak, ayam pedas, kuzi daging and acar timun.. slept like a log after raya...
