Just did an install on these foot pegs. I love them. The springs were a little tricky. I ended up using zip ties to keep the spring compressed. Worked great. The pin just slipped right in. Then cut the zip tie when it was put back together. The whole thing took 5 minutes. Getting the cotter pin out was the hardest thing.
Josh, pick yourself up an entire box of cotter pins at Harbor Freight for about $5. Zip ties is a good idea. I normally just use a skinny screwdriver to get everything aligned.
Snapped my oversized foot pegs off, mounting bolts snapped. Heard it’s happened to a few 1090 1190 and 1290 when used hard off road. Have swapped mine to Carapak shorter stronger ones.
Just heard one of the owners of IMS on the Adventure Rider Radio podcast. They have a really good design and production philosophy. The claim is that despite their size you do not loose any lean angle. They do look huge but may be nice for my size 13 feet!
I haven't scraped them yet and they are super comfortable. I know what you mean on the 13 feet, I'm not far behind with a size 12. I haven't listened to that episode yet but I am subscribed to that podcast.

Too bad you couldn’t see the actual installment of the pegs. Would have been interesting to see what you actually did with the spring. I have ordered ktm powerparts footpegs that I’m about to install. But I’m afraid I won’t be able to do it right. Any good tips before I get started?
Insert a Phillips (or flat bit but I prefer a Phillips) screwdriver in the from the bottom through the mount/peg/spring/peg/mount. Use a skinnier screw driver than that of the pin so it'll make it easier to get everything lined up. Then "chase" the screwdriver back through with the pin. Just make sure to put on some safety glasses because sometimes that spring will go flying no matter how careful you are.

It's a cotter pin. You can reuse it or put in a new one. You can buy 500+ cotter pins at Harbor Freight for about $5. As for safety glasses, a pair of sunglasses or riding goggles will work as well. Hell, you could even wear your helmet.
Funny you ask, Kristen was wondering the same thing. Haven't found a solution yet but plan to look into it a little further when we get back from our trip.
So comments below reference the "loss of lean angle"... Sure, I know some is lost to these IMS pegs - but how much? Not so significant or only at bonkers curve carving? Did they have any real affect on your riding style?
Hey mate I've got the 1290 Super Adventure T like yours, where can I get a pair of this IMS foot pegs in Melbourne Australia ever site I look at does not mention they fit the KTM 1290 Super Adventure?
Man if the 1290 & 1090 pegs are the same size, I’m baffled anyone could think the factory pegs are a reasonable size. They’re tiny. Even sitting they’re 1” narrower then my boot. While standing I can barely get 2 toes on them.
Another well constructed and informative video . Personally I spend most of my miles on tarmac enjoying the awesome engine , so don't think I'd fit a set . Was wondering if you intend on replacing the standard exhaust system , I've upgraded to the wings "shorty" which I have been very impressed with ! Keep up your great channel , and roll on warmer days 👍
Thanks Lawrence. I'm going to give these pegs a shot for awhile. If I find I'm grinding them in the turns (not leaning too hard with the colder road temps), I may give them away to a subscriber at some point. As for the exhaust, I'm planning to stay stock. I'm considering a Rottweiler air box in the future though. Is your new exhaust much louder than stock?
2 Wheeled Rider Hi , with the wings exhaust you get 2 removable baffles .Each baffle gives you a different level of noise , plus you can even run without any baffle to get the max effect ! . I prefer to run the mid system which gives a decent volume without being obtrusive both to your eardrums or your neighbours . The build quality is excellent and being shorter than stock it gives both a weight saving and in my opinion a better style . Win , Win !! Hope this is useful to yourself and your subscribers .
Hold on buddy your always a step ahead of me . Wish I could put them new pegs on my 2012 ninja 1000. Im afraid they don't make them yet. Although your last video, you kind of got really lucky hooking up the GPS, them hot leads were already there. Some guys get all the luck no wonder your making these video before I get my first hook connected in Thats in 100degree heat!. I can't go direct to battery because I need the gps to shut off when key turn off.
LOL, I'm not sure I'd call it lucky...KTM just had the foresight to include those hot leads. That said, I get what you're saying. If they didn't have the hot leads available to plug in, I agree, I would hook them up to the accessory so it only worked when the switch was turned on. If you have the service manual, I'm sure you'll be able to get it hooked up that way.
@@2WR I bought a black widow set that included a heel-toe shifter for my Road King for 175 and those pegs are larger than IMS! I can't justify that kind of coin for pegs alone.

Saved my life with the RH side break bolt tip to release. Tks mate.
Thanks dude. This vid helped me out today, specifically the hint for moving the brake pedal out of the way so that the pin could be removed.

For the spring I used stainless wire with aviation safety wire pliers. Twist it till the spring is closed. Install the peg then cut the wire
Pretty good idea. We just put a pair on my buddy's Super Tenere last night and they went on super easy (springs were a bit weak).

You can slide the rubber part of the footpeg from a Honda fury, much bigger surface area, I used rtv for extra security

The IMS ADV I or ADV II pegs listed for KTM adventure bikes should fit any KTM adventure bike model.

These don't seem like a good choice if you ever plan on using your bike as an adventure bike...Meaning off road use. Those things are huge!
They're a great choice for off road since you can stand up on them all day long. Not so great of street use due to the loss of lean angle.
That would be another way to think it through...lol. Getting a 2nd pair for your wife? hahaha
