    It's good to see 7300 stepping up to handle the corn harvest. CAD is a fantastic tool to have. Gets professional results.

    I fkn love that Ethan tells it like it is about people around him. Most people especially youtubers will elude to it but hush right up. Life was better when people exercised free speech

    Ethan, good that you was able to get some corn shelled. It would be understandable when you start fabricating the subframe for the tracks that you may not have time to videotape all that maybe after you get done with harvesting and you have some time maybe you can do a video going through the fabricating. Hope to see you use the combined with the tracks. Good luck 🤞🍀 Thanks Michael

    Glad to see you back in the fields. I so appreciate your desire to have equipment run the way it should. Other channels I watch use baling wire and gray tape to fix equipment. Looking forward to seeing you harvest with the tracks.

    Don’t be afraid to stay in touch with the nearby landlord. Things change and if he knows you are interested it could work in your favor. My mother rented her farm after my father passed away, but she was not happy with the tenant whining about the rent and ended up renting to the guy who wanted to rent, but was passed over. Almost 40 years later the family of the guy in “second place” is still farming the land.

    Glad you could make a little progress on corn. Getting the new parts designed thru CAD process is smart. You can test fit on the computer the design before putting on the machine. Hoping you can take us along on the build but understanding that the build is more important than the camera. Thanks for the update Ethan. Take care. Fred.

    Good to have the 7300 as a backup machine. Making a little progress is better than none. Moisture and test wt. are looking good. Was talking with our Pioneer Rep...guess high moisture is a common problem in our area. We sampled some a couple weeks ago, it was at 24%. Would prefer 20% or under. At the moment our terminal is only taking condo corn so maybe the price will nudge up a little and the moisture will fall off. Ahh the joys of farming. Good yields and higher than normal moisture have challenged the grain facilities. Looking forward to seeing the 8700 in action.

    Something about a nice truck that is like a magnet for other cars. I feel your pain, went years without a blemish on the old rusty work truck then finally got something clean and people can't keep their distance.

    We ran a lot of corn through our 7300. It was a gas one,we had rice tires and 704n. Then put that head on a 7600 gas with rice on the front and 7.50 20 single ribs on the back. Went pretty good in southern Ohio mud . Really like the track progect !!!!

    Bummer about the weather. It was nice to see some corn harvest video. It's definitely going to be awesome when you get the tracks done and can get some video of that. I'm excited to see those videos. See you soon.

    We’ve got plenty of sleazy BTO’s in Ontario. They are typically taking advantage of the trusting old ladies who still own land and have no idea what it’s worth.

    We have the same big time guys in south ga that drive up rent and try to farm everything they can get their hands and will drive brand new tractors 50 miles down the road to get to it. Why all the used tractors have worn out tires

    I know all about those BTOs, thats how they got so big. Being a big time A -holes! I lost a few rented places over those guys. One place we rented, after the old fellow passed, his idiot son decided to farm it himself as he felt we were getting too rich farming it. He let the weeds grow and generally things go to pot for 3 years, before he figured out he was losing his ass. Then he rented it out to another BTO for considerably less than we were paying him. Another one next door, we farmed for 30 years before a BTO conned the guy into letting their outfit have it. They then conned the owner into investing another $50000. + in earthmoving and re doing the 10 year old terraces we put in, just so their monster 40ft machines could go without having to turn around much! We always kept it so the owner had little to no out of pocket costs, and we paid good cash rent for the soil type and hills it is. But they show up with around 3 million dollars of new mega Deere iron to do those few acres in with a whole army of workers, put on a big show. That jerk only farms as a write off for all the money they make in other business they operate. And those dummies buy into it.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  7 місяців тому

      A lot of farms that size have massive off farm incomes to support the operation. Most around here have trucking companies or excavation companies on the side.

    Is an 8800 feeder house the same as your 8700. I found a guy that has an 8600 and 8800 sitting in the weeds behind his barn that I can probably get pretty cheap. The 8800 appears to have a longer throat on it

      Between the fall hail storms and most years not having accumulation until December, everyone down here does corn first. It works 95% of the time. The other 5% we get a foot of snow or an ice storm in early October. 2° difference in latitude, but every where is different.
