Your calamine soap has really helped with mine and my son's eczema. It is so soothing to our skin and you always pick a gental and mild fragrance when you make this kind of soap.
I love developing formulas for a new soap to try. The last one I tried was adapting Holly’s 60% Shea butter recipe to accommodate the liquid oils I had. They’re curing, but the sample wedge I tried was so luxurious. Thanks for sharing, Ellen! I thoroughly enjoy having a cuppa while you chat with me and make soap. Have a fantastic day.
Always keep a bottle of calamine lotion for the mosquitoe bites in the summer, love the simplicity of the soap, colour is lovely and love lemongrass and ginger in soap and candles.Thank you for sharing Ellen.😊x
I. Would love to get my hands on this! One. Of my granddaughters is really tormented by mosquitoes!, To top it off you used two of my favorite scents, Sounds divine!
I like adding the calamine powder and all the wonderful extras that you have taught me to add. 💜 You made lovely bars, and yes they do look very soothing. Thank you for sharing your videos, Ellen! God bless you. 🙏
Love the simplicity of this soap! Full of goodness😊 I’m going to try this. I still have so many soap recipe. My customers get used to them and haven’t changed them, but I need to just have one recipe, it would make it a lot easier especially if I made a lot of soap at once. I always enjoy your videos, hope to see a shampoo bar in the future.😊
Such a lovely, simple soap! I agree, it gives me zen vibes as well.❤ I just attended my first Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild Annual Conference and I learned so much. Ellen, you would be an excellent presenter for an event like this.
@@EllenRuthSoap it’s in Hartford, CT next year and Reno, NV in 2025. There’s nothing like being surrounded with like minded individuals that speak the ‘soap’ language. 🥰❤️
Oh Ellen I think I shared with you before. My Calamine face bars sold out quickly. I get mine from scented expressions and it’s so pink! I love it. I scented with lavender and chamomile Eo’s
Such a beautiful soap and as always from you a lovely video to watch! I love how creamy this bar looks and imagine between the calamine and clay that it will have super soothing/creamy lather. I also grew up using calomine lotion (Florida summers!) and always thought it was a great pink color too! Thank you for sharing your talent and lovely spirit.
I appreciate all your videos. You have inspired me to make this next week. ❤ just realized you are in Dickson ! I'm in Hendersonville. Love meeting fellow Artisans
Hi I'm very new to soap making and was so interested in this when it started. I seen you had the oils already in a jug and didn't know what oils they was. Is there a video on the basic how to do the oil part. Or am I missing something on here.
You are my favorite soaper and I thank you for so gracefully sharing your talent! ❤️ I have 2 quick questions if I may. 1) Does the calamine powder or rose clay discolor the soap after awhile? (I once bought some that was a very deep rose color) and 2) Instead of cane sugar, could powdered sugar be added at the same time the clay and colloidal oats are added? Thank you!
I haven't had the color fade for me. And I'm not sure about adding the sugar to the oils, it's better to dissolve into the water portion first, but you can use powdered sugar for that..
Hi--I am a newbie to soapmaking and had a question about the oils. If the lye loses its property during saponification, does the oils lose their property? In other videos on YT, people say don't worry there will be no lye after saponification, so I was wondering what happens to the oils. Please advise.
The lye combined with the proper amount of oils creates soap, so neither one is what it used to be. Super Fatting a soap is adding extra oil that will not be saponified, creating extra moisture in the bars.
I always learn at least one or two news things from your videos. Thank you.

Yes, same as my mama used on me as a child & I passed it down with my children!! A great alternative to being pink all the time!! Great!

Please put the calamine powder in your Amazon shop!
To dissolve the sugar, did you heat it in a microwave or something else?
No, just stired in the liquid until it all dissolved.

@@EllenRuthSoap Thanks for the info! I don't hear people discuss super fat as much. I'm still researching.
Hi! Is there any way I can send you a picture of my soap?
IG messages or email 😉
