Really enjoy your videos. Weeding can be zen and it was very rewarding although yes, it's a lot of work. Appreciate you sharing and thanks for the garden tour. 👍
At 7:40, rip out those two bushes and put in two encore azaleas. Maybe a white, and pink. Or maybe red and white. They love being near houses and will give you great greenery all year, and plenty of color spring into fall. Deer and rabbits dont mess with them.
Glad to see you back! Boy, that was a LOT of weeding! My knees and back hurt watching ya, LOL! (Bet the hottub comes in handy after all of that kind of weeding!) But overall, everything looks really nice and I look forward to seeing all the new things you're going to plant!
USE BT! The strangest thing happened to my immense overgrown jasmines this year. I kept hearing a dripping sound, saw pellets coming down. Thought termites? But they don’t eat greenery! The leaves were all perfect. No damage. But then I noticed the flowers were disappearing RAPIDLY. The bushes were WHITE with flowers. I finally saw one caterpillar. I thought, well at least they aren’t on the other one! Within days the flowers were gone there too! 😮 I got some BT sprayed at dusk. No activity the next day! I should spray again... for insurance. I was AMAZED!
Josh you are a weed beast! Nice work. Just found your channel and am addicted. I'm in eastern Mass so my climate is the same as yours pretty much. I have a very similar yard and my goal is to do similar to your garden oasis with minimal grass. I love your yard/garden design. Did you start with a paper design or just go with your heart? I also love your use of cardboard. Go brown! I also am plagued with rabbits so I am taking advantage of your experience w/those critters as well as other garden pitfalls. I love your technique for edging the beds. And I like the natural woodchips. I really don't like the red cedar, and was considering going with w/gravel, but don't know. Thanks a MILLION for sharing your experience!!
Nice to see your mom helping out. She probably was so happy to see you! All things considered, the garden looks pretty good! The redbud is gorgeous and I'm looking forward to seeing the Edge of Night Hibiscus bloom. I've also noticed bugs and pests have been bad this year, although I've yet to see any japanese beetles in my area, thankfully.
Glad to see you are back. Japanese beetles are early this year (NY) 13:43 is definitely invincibell we white which has pink tone at the beginning then turn white and green later on.
I think you should take a trip to New Hampshire Hosta farm. They are one of the best stores in the world, online, for hostas of various sizes and colors. You have room in your yard to get some of their GIANT and Large hostas and really let them take off. They even have some that are deer and rabbit resistant. Look at the online store... but you're so close in RI it would be a shame not to visit the farm. They have like 2-300 cultivars.
I definitely could try giving them more water, but we have gotten a lot of rain this spring. The other hostas look really good so this may be a less vigorous variety 🤷🏻♂️

It was a mild winter which always means more insect issues. But it led to a beautiful hydrangea season as well!
Glad you're back!!!! Hope all is well❤
Thank you!!
Overall, more azaleas, more alliums, more salvia (color spires has so many colors that pop), more hostas, and maybe an Anna's Magic Ball or two.
Glad to see you are back. Japanese beetles are early this year (NY) 13:43 is definitely invincibell we white which has pink tone at the beginning then turn white and green later on.
Oh thank you for letting me know!! I wasn’t as familiar with that variety but I’m going to look it up :)

I did not know about this!! I’ll have to check it out!
The caterpillars are the mallow sawfly and they did the same thing to mine.
Ahhh okay. Thanks for letting me know!!
Any updates on green giants ?
Watching weeding vids. Your hosta just need water to grow.
