My desert of a face hates the First aid beauty. I just purchased the Kiehls a few days ago at Ross for 14.99 and I am beyond impressed. Thanks for the video.
I do, but I have found that less is more. My husband uses it daily now too, and if you knew him, you would know that is saying something. But like I said, less is more. Don't over apply.
I have super dry, dehydrated skin and I prefer Kiehls. Love the Facial cream and the new Overnight Rehydrating Mask. Personally, I think Kiehls is better for people with my skin type. Or for those who need a intensely moisterizing product if they have gone too heavy on the retinA or if they want to use it as part of spa night, after exfoliation, masking, gua sha etc.
@@blackqueen5201 Not for me. But I have super dehydrated skin that never gets clogged. But warning...this mask has a body butter texture. Like the BODY SHOP Shea Butter. So, if you don't like that texture on your face, you may want to pass.
I love the Kiehl’s cream and now I understand why! I have oily, but aging skin & it’s really hard to find a product that works with both. If you don’t know, aging skin is usually dry. I tried the Kiehl’s because I got it in a sample and could not believe that a “cream“ did not increase oil production. In fact, it stayed more balanced. And it may be because of the salicylic acid that’s in it. Which is some thing I also use for psoriasis, so I know it helps with inflammation. Thank you for the information!
Is the salicylic acid a concern? I need hydration but no exfoliating. I like the khiels ultra face cream but will I be over exfoliating if I use it daily?
My holy grail face wash is from First Aid Beauty but i didn't fall in love with the ultra repair cream. I'm going to try the Kiehl's for moisturizer but stick to First Aid for the face wash
Salycylic acid is not recommended to use with Retinol so is it a problem or would the amount be too little anyway? Because I use the Ultra Facial Cream in the evening
I was wondering about the salycylic acid component as well. I use Tretinoin every night but I really need an intense moisturizer & haven’t had much luck finding one that agrees with my skin. I hope he sees your question soon 😊.
There is no black and white about actives you CANT use together, it all depends on what you can tolerate. If its towards the end of the ingredient list it’s probably a very low concentration, so you should be fine. Most derms just recommend you dont do an exfoliating treatment with retinols in the same routine cuz that can be quite intense, but a treatment will have a much higher concentration so thats probably why they say that
I use Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream, but had to stop using it when I started using Tretinoin, as the burn was unbearable. I have resumed using the Ultra Facial cream as I no longer use Tretinoin. I had to change my entire skincare including my face wash, to be able to use Tretinoin; was not worth it.
My holy grail face wash is from First Aid Beauty but i didn't fall in love with the ultra repair cream. I'm going to try the Kiehl's for moisturizer but stick to First Aid for the face wash
Please look into Dr. Dennis Gross skincare, it's very expensive and he recently said he doesn't measure ingredients and he's had a law suit for claiming collegen in a product that was found to have none at all. I've used some of his products, I want to know if I've been wasting my money
First Aid Beauty is great! Good alternative but Khiels helps with dry skin the best. Both are great products. One stays in longer and the other needs multiple applications
Never touched Kiehls after they discontinued their moisturizing eye stick with SPF. I bought 3 at a time I used it all the time. My friends loved it because it was for all skin types and not greasy.
Thanks for this VERY clear video. All the important information and none of the fluff :) I have been considering the First Aid Beauty product and your last comment that it is more budget friendly made my decision clear. Plus...I prefer a lighter feel to my moisturizer as my skin is not too dry and leans to combo.
I have combination skin and I can use the kiehl’s cream as a day cream under my sunscreen without it making me greasy. Love that it’s light but is moisturizing still!
Right way to use FAB when you have atopic dermatitis on face? Been using steroid base ointment when having flare-ups but I know I can’t use it forever because it’s bad for long term use.
3:47 error: Salicylic acid is a BHA, not an AHA, which is an important distinction as AHA’s are known to make your skin sun-sensitive, and some of us are specifically avoiding AHA’s in our morning moisturizer.
I suggest to put an image of what brand are you talking because I felt lost guessing. English is my second language, so I need more spaced words..😝 thank you for the insights
Years ago I used to use the first aid beauty ultra repair cream and loved it but I was a big fan of Paula Begoun Beautypedia and she rated this product 1 out of 5 because it contains eucalyptus oil and is a known skin irritant, what are your thoughts because I see other dermatologists recommending this product too with no mention of the eucalyptus
Hey Sandra! Thank you for bringing up this important issue. It especially becomes frustrating when companies claim to make products for sensitive skin and then put irritating essential oils in them. This is especially the case for those who have a particular sensitivity to eucalyptus and other essential oils. Some can have sensitive skin but experience no reaction it, which is how manufactures can still slab the 'sensitive skin' branding on it. I hope this helps. Subscribe to stay updated. 🙂
When the FAB ultra repair was first launched it had eucalyptus plant extract which made it fine for sensitive skin, but then 2 years ago the changed that ingredient to eucalyptus essential oil and with this re formulation they package should of also changed as it’s no longer suitable for sensitive skin, especially the face. I was an avid user of this cream for many many years and was very disappointed that they never informed the consumer of this change ever! I did contact them but they didn’t care to reply but keep pushing there products for sensitive skin still to this day.
Hi Neel! The Ultra Repair Cream shown in the video has 3 Notable Ingredients: 1.) Colloidal Oatmeal (OTC): Skin protectant that relieves itching caused by eczema, rashes, and other skin conditions. 2.) Shea Butter: Moisturizes and protects the skin barrier with vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. 3.) Allantoin: Calms and soothes skin. The Repair Firming Collagen Cream has 3 different Notable Ingredients: 1.) Collagen: Supports skin texture, structure, density, and an overall appearance. 2.) Peptides: Help smooth skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 3.)Niacinamide: Helps skin appear bouncy and visibly improves tone and texture. I hope this can answer your question. Let me know :)
A shame none of these are fungal acne/Malassezia Folliculitis safe. I have sensitive Rosacea fungal acne skin, and can’t use 99% of all skin care products out there😭😭😭 Btw Squalene or Squalane? Only the latter is more stable and safe for all skin types. Fungal acne is promoted/triggered by fatty acids, fatty alcohols and oils, as well as esters… And due to climate change the glaciers are melting away at super speed. So guess Kiehls need to find a replacement for that ingredient. I should know. I live in Norway. No snow and the heat makes March seem like May.
Thank you for this input. Sensitive skin is tough to begin with, adding rosacea to it with fungal acne is a real patient population. I would hope more brands will factor that into their formulations. I can imagine that being difficult. Squalane is what I meant to say as it does not react with O2. Wishing you wellness.

Which one is best for combo/dry acne prone skin? :) I also used tretinoin and plan on starting skin cycling soon!

Liehl’s vs origins, which is the best product for oily combination ageing skin?

Of course!
I have also noticed that kiehels side is free from crepey skin!
I wanna try this keihl’s for using after tretinion 0.05 as i like greasy feel which I don’t find in another any moisturizer. Is it ok to use ?
It will burn a lot.
Great vid!! Could you compare youth to the people vitamin c with others like Paula choice
Great recommendation! Will be considering them. Have you tried any of them?
Thanks for the good information because I have oily skin 👍💜
Glad you found it helpful!
I bought the First Aid beauty moisturiser (big tub) for the first time but it smells really bad, as if it gone off!
Is this normal?
I am so sorry you had that experience. I have not yet experienced a troublesome smell so I can't comment. Was this the first tub?

you may want to check the expiration date and return it
I noticed it has a slight herbal medicinal smell but I guess I like it.

Would First Aid Beauty be good for people with normal-dry skin? Also is that moisturizer only for my face or arms and legs too?
