I competed in my first half marathon race last Sunday, and the difference it makes having people cheer/shout at you, especially people shouting your name, is indescribable. I ran the last 4k 15-25s faster than every other kilometre purely because of the crowd towards the end of the race
I was a competitive Olympic Weightlifter for 6 years before switching to recreational Powerlifting for about 2 years. But then I switched to Muay Thai, BJJ, and MMA; and although I make consistent progress, it's kind of sad never having that objective, measurable, undeniable evidence of improvements.
Having people yell at you/hype you up actually makes a big difference to performance. I run and lift so much better in front of a crowd! Just hire our Thor's pals and you'll be pulling 500 in no time
I got a squat pr two weeks ago, I haven’t pr’d on bench or deadlift because I tore my pec but recently I got 225 for the first time since the injury in a set of 3 so I’m counting it as an achievement
@@TimSlee1 yeah, started when i was 15. Could do around 315 lbs for reps at 132 lb. Now at 18 I can do 700 lbs for reps at 160 lbs, this year alone i increase my deadlift by 17%.
