I was trafficked by my father from a young toddler age to adult, of course grooming is a terribly common practice in sexual abuse but especially long term , the amount of rewiring I’ve had to do for myself with the help of my partner is wild. I’m very open with my experiences with my friends and family around me and sometimes I’ll talk about something that is totally normal to me or became a normal for me but then I see the look on their face and I’m quickly reminded that the level of grooming they provide is such an extreme form of brainwashing. Getting justice is not a easy process at all, the state helped me open a lawsuit when I was 8 and at the time he was helping out high end people in the legal system and even sexually/romantically seeing the judge of our case, so my case (even tho I had hard proof ) was push under the rug . I am still now in a current lawsuit with him as of the past 4 years . Since then he’s recently shot my brother 9 times (my brother is alive and doing very well considering ) and he’s suing our father as well . All while my dad is free not facing any time yet until trial . It’s truly mind blowing how fucked the system is and how long the process takes for some legal movement.
All that being said I really enjoyed this break down , I’m glad y’all were able to laugh a bit throughout it , made it easier for me to listen to . This is such a intense and complex situation and the amount of people that believe sex trafficking isn’t real and doesn’t happen on a day to day basis is such a large percentage I hope people can continue to be more aware of these issues especially with videos like this 🖤

i’m so sorry, i hope you’re doing well now 💗 i was a victim of grooming (for 8 years so 7-15) and was assaulted by a boy couple years older than me when i was 6/7 along with other things. i can not deal with the guilt, feelings of “impurity”, and manipulated mind state (as in my head i tend to justify these actions bc they’re the only people who have showed me any “love” in my life although ik they are disgusting) and i’m still not even a legal adult who can get help for it. and just that alone has done enough irreversible damage, i couldn’t even imagine it from my own father.
MANY men in those 8 years tended to be fathers of young girls ( one man even had a 5 year old daughter who he wanted to hurt), even more were married or had girlfriends, and a few were school teachers who taught children my age at the times (and one would daily touch himself to images of me AT SCHOOL). another is on active duty in the navy right now, and one woman sold images of me to other pedophiles and still to this day is trying to stalk me and do horrendous things to me and sell me into rings. what’s sad is NOTHING will ever be done abt these disgusting vile people bc the government DOES NOT CARE. the only person who’s been caught with anything near me was a school counselor at my school a month ago while his wife just had a baby, it’s fucking disgusting.

As a sex trafficking survivor I’m glad you talk about how evil that woman was, I still remember my cousin explaining to me how I was “helping him” and trying to teach me how to do things that he or he the other people wanted.
I was only 5 but it would always be normal and seemingly fun, we’d play video games and watch silly movie, so I didn’t feel “groomed” in the beginning. When it started to hurt or I’d cry very loud that’s when the fear came in but when your a child you can’t rationalize rape. So I didn’t get why my favorite cousin was hurting me, because he was my family he was nice to me, I loved him. And his “friends” were nice too, they’d sometimes give me snacks so when I was terrified or in very serious pain I just remember only feeling confused.
Virginia explaining how she saw Maxwell this woman who had forced her into sexual slavery as “family”, the situations as normal hits so close to home. It’s so fucking vindicating to hear, to know I’m not crazy to know I’m not disgusting for seeing him as family. It’s a very difficult thing to mentally deal with, to now understand everything and to still remember how I felt back then. It’s a very hard thing to explain for a long long time I told no one simply because, he was still family, I still loved my cousin.
Thank you for speaking about this, I’d put off any content about this for a long time because I’m very very easily destabilized but you did it justice, thank y’all and thank you Virginia.

He definitely was doing it earlier than that.
Any time people are documented to be super predators like this, there's always a starting period where its a bit slower but they consistently get away with it, which emboldens them to move onto more aggressive or larger scale activities.
There's no way that was his first, he'd likely been getting away with it for a while, and I would take a guess that getting caught but only getting a slap on the wrist likely both emboldened him.
That's part of what disgusts me the most, he likely never would've harmed on such a scale if he was held accountable properly in the first place.
It's a tale as old as time for predators to double down when they aren't held accountable.

    Hi, boomer here. Two things:
Double promotion was very popular in the 1960s and maybe into the 70s and often parents would be pushed into having their child who showed extra academic promise due to high test scores into skipping a grade. I skipped a grade and my parents were barely involved in it, although they had to agree to it, and I had a friend that skipped two grades. It wasn't only genius kids, but you had to have high test scores. This lost popularity over the years because of changes in education and psychology.
Second, power of attorney just means you can sign legal documents for another person. In my family, I had an elderly relative who doesn't use computers and her son has power of attorney to do her online banking and stuff from another state.

I wasn’t too shocked when I heard he was taken off. And being caught makes perfect sense to have the initial reaction of suicide rather than face the immense disaster of his own design. Part of it is the autopsy though. He is apparently found after hanging himself. Which is sus itself cause if he was on suicide watch even recently, he should not have anything that's possible to hang yourself, suicide watch in legal facilities means no shoe laces, no drawstring, no blankets that can be pulled apart even, no hard plastic tooth brushes, etc.
So even allowing him to harm himself is a massive failure.
But the autopsy also showed the damage was consistent with strangulation, not hanging.
There is small differences in the bruising on the neck, and his bruising was consistent with being strangled by hand. Either way, it is very suspect

As an elder millennial, skipping grades used to be much more common. If your teacher thought you were smart enough and you seemed bored, they'd put you ahead. I had a friend who skipped two grades and so was much younger than everyone. She ended up doing freshman year of high school twice (she changed schools so it wouldn't be weird) because her parents didn't want her to go to college at 16. Eventually they decided Oh, hey, emotional maturity is a thing and so is socialization and maybe letting kids totally skip developmental milestones is bad for them and leads to bullying and poor socialization. And they pretty much stopped doing it while I was still in school.

i'm from 97 and i also remember some kids skipping grades, honestly they weren't even that smart, they just excelled at things that our education system praises, everyone hated them for being the teachers pet, thus they got bullied for being the young smartasses.
you'd think teachers would think this through, making someone a snowflake is like marking crosshairs on their shirt in school.

At the same time I'm happy with how everything turned out so I wouldn't necessarily recommend against it.

10:34 the weird thing is though, those kids who end up skipping ahead grades tend to be really alienated from their peers and end up having lots of social-emotional development issues as a result; quite a fair few of them ended up as serial killers or doing something else super heinous. Jeffrey Epstein is actually a pretty good example of that, I think. It's really important for childhood development that children stay within their own age appropriate peer group and are able to learn how to socially function in their age range, because even if academically they are ahead, they are still socially the same age, if not regressed a little bit because of the awkwardness that tends to come with high intellect and concurrent neurological things like ADHD or autism.

New episode? Lovely! Can't wait to listen to it! Keep up the good work, boys. 💪
By the way you guys should cover some japanese urban legends any day, some of them are pretty good and would make an interesting topic for the podcast.

    Great episode!
I'm only 50 minutes in, and the amount of information really shocked me, and gave me an idea for a game.
Imagine the first person puzzle game "Return of the Obra Dinn", but instead of the ship, the story revolves around the life of J.E.
We can use documents, photos, etc. as a trigger to dive into each scene, and inside we can find details and more objects that help progress the game.
(Or the braindance mini game in Cyberpunk 2077)
I haven't come up with an ultimate goal for this game yet, maybe I'll have something after finishing this episode.

Thank you, Wendigoon, for using the term “conspiracy theory” instead of just “conspiracy”. Words are important and it irks me to no end how those two terms have become conflated/interchangeable/utterly synonymous in our modern world. I loved this whole video, but the part at the end where they were saying “conspiracy” and “conspiratorial” to effectively mean “something ridiculous/unproven” was incredibly frustrating lol when Jackson said “so many conspiracies that aren’t even actual conspiracies because they’re probably true” I had to pause the video and audibly groan
