I love Beth and in this piece about mom, this time in her performance there is so much sweetness , so much gratitude., so much love. Great Beth, unique! Love from Italy,Rome.
Beth Hart is one of the most soul-full singers I've ever heard. She is multitalented and plays several instruments, as well as a song writer. Her collaboration with Joe Bonamassa is one of the best pairs in music entertainment.
Southern trees bear a strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and blood at the root, Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze, Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees. Pastoral scene of the gallant south, The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth, Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh, Then the sudden smell of burning flesh. Here is fruit for the crows to pluck, For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck, For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop, Here is a strange and bitter crop.
incredibile... una sinfonia... Bonamassa è un artista che non ha avuto neanche un decimo del riconoscimento che gli spettava, su Beth non spreco neanche parole, basta conoscerla da venti e più anni ed è tutto detto...
I love Beth but have only recently discovered her. She is a wide-eyed, high-energy person these days. I know she has had substance and depression issues off and on. Was this performance during one of those rough substance abuse times? She definitely does not have that sparkle and wiped her nose about half a dozen times.

At the beginning I was certain ET was going to show up.
peccato, grande peccato che non siano più insieme... peccato...
Ummmmm....noooo!!! Leave this to Billie Holiday where it belongs...
It is very important that this song is still heard live today as it is a protest song. It was initially performed by Laura Duncan, not Billie Holiday.
