The kings are very under the radar this year because of doughty injury and because we didn’t do much so I can’t wait to do well this year and shock the NHL. But to be fair nobody knows the kings except us kings fans.
I agree with Austin. Spence is an excellent choice. This is a guy that scored 87 points in 101 games as a defenseman in Ontario and as a rookie was the #1 D man when Ontario broke the AHL record for most power play goals in AHL history.
We talk about Carter George and Erik Portillo aiming to be the “next Quick” but honestly yeah I’m excited for both BUT I’m also excited to see Hampton Slukynsky get his chance too in the next few years!! That kid is solid!!👑
Solid takes all around. Agree with pretty much all of it which is unusual for me.
On Laferriere. We had Iafallo there for a few years, and i believe Laferriere has a higher ceiling.
Yeah, at the end of the day he beat out Turcotte for a roster spot straight out of college and stayed healthy. Turcotte is more than welcome to earn his way to that spot. I’m rooting for Turcotte but Laferriere is no slouch and last year was just his first pro season.
Eddie, I watched your show that included the Edmonton, Vancouver and Vegas guys.
Out of all of them, you are the only one who is humble and comes off as real and professional. Their smug faces just take away any value and credibility on what they have to say.
P.S. They were fine…I’m not hating…just saying you stand out big time in quite a few ways.
Foegle is underrated. Laferriere on the top line reminds me of the ire Byfield got when he moved to LW1. And Kuempers numbers last year looked eerily similar to Talbots in Ottawa. This team may have very quietly gotten better.
How do you think Ullmark will do in Ottawa? And Korpisalo in Boston? Something tells me it’s not really the goalies that’s the issue in Ottawa.
@eddiemin4312 I think Korpisalo will do well in Boston, and Ullmark will have solid numbers in Ottawa. Boston has a good defensive system that helps goalies succeed and Ullmark is a better goalie than Talbot and Korpisalo.
I think the top 3 lines are awesome as long as everyone stays healthy. The 4th line really has a lot of potential to get a few goals every once in a while. Lewis will provide a veteran presence and the line should be solid defensively. Kuemper is like talbot but he seems to have better side to side movement. Defense for me is the only question mark. Doughty is such a huge loss. If we can do well without him, once he gets back we should improve a lot. So many people dislike Clarke but I think its because he just looks awkward how he skates and moves. Spence should be top line. He's solid and Anderson is a great partner
Wow, Eddie, that was a real "downer"! Seriously. Isn't Austin a bit young to act like a long time analyst? Of course, I've been around for disappointments since 1967. I guess that means to go easy of the kid? Honestly, I was surprised how good the Kings looked against the Ducks. I mean, there were the requisite breakaways and hit posts, but, ultimately, they played with some heart. AND, I sensed the guys were having fun playing together. Technically, it's a new team and I think we should give them -at least-a little rope to work with. Now then, I admit I still follow former Kings and I was bemused that nothing was ever said about the Capitals big dream player...P.L. DuBois. but I saw he had a goal and an assist in their last game. So, now the press is all jazzed up? lol I know, again, my cynicism checks in! Personally, I'm glad we got Kuemper back and I will be pulling for him to have some good luck back in L.A. We all know the Kings might inflate the greatness of goalies with their solid, defensive team, but I really liked him when first we brought him So, here's pulling for a good team. Go Kings!

If Vegas is a question mark, than why would kings be wild card team? I have kings finishing 2nd or 3rd. I dont see Seattle being better. Than u have flames, ducks, and sharks as bottom feeders.
I have LA becoming a top seed. Once DD comes back this team will be a contender.
I see LA staying competitive and competing for the top 3 Pacific division spots and constantly fine tuning things till DD comes back.
i think y'all are underestimating Seattle. I think they're going to take over either the Kings or Vegas's spot.
