Just hung out with Anton after the show in Fort Collins, CO last month. He invited us on to the bus to chill, then we invited him over the house to hang out, Truly an authentic, nice, fun and funny human being. We had a great time.
Really nice fella, great sense of humor. If only you heard the whole conversation :)
That didn't age well....
Authentic and nice? Not what I've heard......
@@hotwheels1838 everyone has their moments :)
that's fantastic -- I literally stumbled into him as I walked onto the outside desk and he was smoking a. cig, alone, by the door. We talked for about 10 minutes. I don't personally know him -- but I've been studying him as a person father, musician -- and husband, I guess. He is a funny guy who loves to tell stories-- but he can grow dark very fast, He doesnt' take criticism well, that's for sure. So I didn't;t critizine him -- except to say in a mildly shamming funny way: "Are you till smoking those non-filter cigarettes>? I knew he was.....so we talked cigarettes, ANYTHING but asking how the tour is going on getting into the problems I know he's going through. No -- I kept it at cigarettes, -- he's a great bunch of guys,,,
Could listen to Anton talk about music for hours, great interview!
thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed
Life is short, take the time to be inspired by great music. For me it’s about moving to a great beat, but whatever gets you grooving. Enjoy the ride
Nice. Anton is always interesting to listen to.
No he’s not. It’s word salad/vomit. And you lap it up.
but its' no interesting at all when he cals his Audience CUNTS and slamming the band -- especially drummer -- for the entire tour . He's relapsed back into alcohol. It's awful. and such pity. I hope he'll sober up again. However, he DID not do his best work sober ......just saying...BUt NO BAND AND ART is worth harming yourself or drying for......and musicians do it all the time.
@@briteboy79 👍
dedication trumps skill.
Elephant Stone (Rishi Dhir) are one of those bands you can put on, or recommend to someone, and then sit back and watch their face explode with amazement.
Definitely!
Sometimes…

Grace was in her mid twenties when she co-wrote Somebody To Love, and she was definitely writing from a personal point of view (as she wrote it with her husband at the time in mind). Great song, and still stands the test of time.
I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for the information, and most importantly, thank you for watching :)
I thought Marty wrote it
I like this interviewer actually when he says “I know you’re gonna say no.” He knows who he’s talking to.
you just have to let Anton talk. He will give you great stuff, good sense of humor too
Yes! Anton Yes ❤
It's hard for me to admit being jealous of anyone for anything but with Anton yeah. It's nauseating to me how prolific and great he is.
hard to be jealous of a guy that's worked so hard, and still put's in the effort. thanks for watching
Driven
That Tim Horton bit came out of left field, eh?
i love the absolute madman that is Anton! Ennio Morricone & Phil Spector two of my all time favs
whoah nice
gotta check them out. Thank you for watching :)
Come Dancing is a great song
It is definitely a catchy track
If this interview was posted 11/2023, the unnamed Rolling Stones album that he refers to was likely Hackney Diamonds. Not sure why they put a “Steel Wheels” graphic up there.
That was some good stuff. I seen BJM in Toronto some years back
Thank you for watching. glad you enjoyed the show
saw
@@Vibeagain Thank you.
Anton is kinda nuts, but there's some good advice in this video.
Smart and crazy, a good combo. thanks for watching XC
The Final Message from our Beloved and Wise Man of Creation , surprisingly is " Work Hard at what you Love and it will Grow " ! He should know as whatever you say about Anton, this guy sure put in alot to get what he did from it !
He is spot on with that remark. Couldn't agree more
That album was six months ago. Anton's probably written 74 great songs since then.
You mean the same song 74 time.
@@briteboy79 yeah ive been meaning to ask him about that. It's natural as artist age to change -- or they get stuck. I know he's changed, but I'm not sure if he's stuck....He seem to be plowing along as usual. "It you give up before you die, you are through." JMHO thanks.
Say what you want about Anton, he's really a decent bloke. Just a bit uptight on stage. And yes, the Sound Carriers were great.
I think most true artists are genuinely tempremental
It's a lot more complicated than that.
He played a great show in Austin, last October, but also I feel like he needs to take a deep breath sometimes,, haha.
Tim Horton was a monster of a hockey player. I can't believe Anton brought him up
I'm astounded at how much Anton knows, outside of music. Too smart :) thanks for watching XC
Touch of Grey? Uhm..ok, maybe. I can see that, but West LA Fadeaway nah..that's a bad azz groove! Besides, The Grateful Dead is a perfect example of a strong artistic eco-system. I love Anton's work not only in The Massacre but w/ Tess Parks also. I just don't agree with his views and outlook on a lot of issues but I still respect his work. That whole Australia fiasco was just us witnessing a man stretched out way too thin while under the influence. We NEED artist like Anton that are open from time to time to what the universe has to express. His authenticy and experience is irreplaceable. Thanks for sharing this interview!
where is Anton -- seriously. Hasn't been on social media since the tour can canceled........Time take times....but this is too much time to not hear a peep from him -- Im wondering if he is OK. Anyone know?
What's the band Anton mentions? Star Carriers?
The Soundcarriers
compliments on the Neil Young mutton-chops.
🎩🌏
Yes bro! The Souncarriers fucking rule
Threw a guitar at a guy and ran like a little girl in Melbourne. Zero respect for this joker.
"The future will prove Anton is the Mozart of the new millennium" _ _ Colin Newman
Trickydicky: I hope Anton knows that Brian Wilson had nothing to do with 'Kokomo' and much of his later 'atmospheric' music came from his troubled childhood.............
Narcissists that are coy in interviews

🤔
Anton is cleverest boy on the Universe. 💞💞👄
Nardwar
This guy is full of himself. 😮😂😅
fairly opinionated :) thank you for watching
Always.
Saying you don't go to sound a certain way ect is bs your songs are great but you have alot songs that obviously influenced by alot different influences you listen to
I agree with you. Sometimes, Anton can exagarate :) thanks for watching XC
There was never a "Jonestown" Massacre. It was the JAMEStown Massacre. Brian Jones refers to the Stones early guitarist. Oh well, whatever, nevermind...
The “Jonestown Massacre” occurred on November 18, 1978, when more than 900 members of an American cult called the Peoples Temple died in a mass suicide-murder under the direction of their leader Jim Jones (1931-78). It took place at the so-called Jonestown settlement in the South American nation of Guyana.
Jonestown Massacre. November 18th, 1978. In reference to both Brian Jones and Jim Jones, leader of the Peoples Temple cult and, naturally, founder of “Jonestown” (formally, the Peoples Temple Agricultural Project).
Might want to research that again buddy 😂😂😂😂
Happened on my 13th birthday
#confidentlywrong
You aren't from the Jonestown massacre. You're from a crappy band named after the Jonestown massacre because you have poor taste.
Stick to the anime ya bum, music ain't ya calling 😂👍🏾
Brian Jonestown is a pormanteau, similar to internet (interconnected network) and spork (spoon + fork).
You obviously don't get the reference little boy
Pro-tip for you here, Anton...maybe dont go on an interview called "records in my life" if youre going to put up such a stink about having to give some praise to some records other than ones youve made.....DUH.
Hard to function so far up one’s own ass.
