- Tekken 5 is one of my favorites in the series and I used to play it all the time, even placing 4th at EVO. I wanna sit back and talk to you guys about why I appreciate the series so much and of course, showing you guys the game. Enjoy!

I remember printing out King's chain throws off Yahoo for Tekken 2. There was no home port, so I memorized them and went to the arcade and washed everyone with just chain throws.
Muahaha I did this too. I drew circles on my school book imitating the arcade stick and practiced pressing the buttons for the chain grab.

Personally grew up on T6 and TTT2, id prefer those but T5 is still a really solid ass title

@@falconeshield She was given Jun's fighting style, given the name Kazama like her and Jin, then healed Jin from being Devil Jin in her ending. Important af only to be undone the next game despite in T6 them outright confirming she's Jin's cousin through narration.

This was my first Tekken on the PS2 and that is when I got invested in the whole series
I had T1-T7 and both tags. People crap on og Tekken but it was beautiful when you're used to SNES. T5 was peak Tekken to me because it felt grounded like a Kung Fu movie. Same with Soul Calibur 1-3. Just the right amount of fantasy mixed in the gameplay without going too far

T5DR was the big update to T5 Vanilla. DR was definitely the most balanced and top 3 best Tekkens in my opinion next to Tekken Tag 1 and Tekken 3.
i had Dark Resurrection on PSP. It's maybe my most played game on a handheld, i couldn't stop playing that game and showing it off to my friends. At the time it was INSANE to have a mainline Tekken on a Handheld.
Dark Resurrection just felt perfect. Put so many hours into this game.
Remembered the times playing this one in the arcade.. Good times

I’m was a big Lei Wulong player on Tekken 3 and Tag. I didn’t have time to play Tekken 4 due to university but when Tekken 5 came out, I finished school and went back into Tekken. Also, there wasn’t a really big learning curve for me playing Lei. Unfortunately, the Tekken games that came after, Lei Wulong was changed a lot and it made me miss Tekken 5 even more.

@@vangmx ahaha I see. Curiously I feel the same with several characters. From 3 to 5 I felt they're more or less the same, but I feel that Bryan and even Law somewhat changed in 6. Kudos for you being Lei player. I felt difficult using him even since T2 🤣 Zafina is interesting tho
@@AndreSamosir Yep, Lei really changed in Tekken 6 where he was more or less the same from 3-5. He even wasn’t available in Tekken 7 until Namco released him as a DLC a few years back, and was pretty much the same Lei from Tekken 6.
My favorite is Tekken 2. It introduced me one of my favorite characters, Jun Kazama. So happy to see her return in Tekken 8, after all these years. lol Sure, she was in the Tag games, but those are not cannon to the main story.

Also… Tekken 5 Was The Last Fighting Game I Played With An Old Friend Before He Died In A Car Crash. This Is Why Even Though Tekken 6 Passed Me By, There Will Always Be A Place For Tekken 5 In My Heart.

It's either 3 or 5 for me. 5 is essentially 3 perfected, but nothing in the Fight genre will ever blow my mind quite like jamming 3 for the first time. One big change I remember for 5 onwards was how much harder it was to consistently nail throws. They were so much more spammable in 3

Tekken 5 is also one of my favourite tekken games. I just wish devil Jin's victory was canon, he would have been bad ass with that extra power.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection is probably my favorite Tekken game of all time. I love the series and I'm excited for 8 but there's a vibe about 5 that I miss in games after it.
Tekken 5 best soundtrack, tekken 6 best single player and customization, tag tournament 2 best roster (even tho Bob is broken). We really had it good for those 3.
Bob was always broken even in 6, that's why i rarely main him the combos are too much for my skills tbh.

The AI in this game was probably the best one I've played in a fighting game... now that they have mad money again... I believe its only a matter of time where they gonna re add that... hopefully right off the bat in 8... This Ai even used to taunt lol...
You should try Persona 4 Arena score attack mode or Injustice 1 Battle Mode: The Max. Also, Power Rangers BFTG, the ai will TOD you.
They won't add it, they have been stripping away features since dark resurrection. They realised they don't have to waste money on making good a.i or dojo modes and other features, and can just sell you dlc characters each month. Tekken 5 is just a product of it's time, it's not just namco that have gone this way, pretty much all companies have.
the Ai in this game is good cuz its consisted of ghost data of pro players

Oh man, I bought a ps2 slim and put it in my dorm back in college to play this. Fun time, Everyone in my building got into Tekken because of it.

Jinpachi is one of those fighting game bosses that was purposefully designed for the player to not win against.

This was the last “pure” Tekken game. Not to mention the fact that is included arcade perfect versions of Tekken, Tekken 2, and Tekken 3 on PS2.

My favorite Tekken games so far are Tekken 3, Tag 1, Tag 2, & Tekken 5. I hope Tekken 8 will be another favorite.

The intro segment in Tekken 5, both the story and regular versions are easily one of the best the fighting game genre, dare I say, the entirety of the gaming medium has ever produced.
Here's to hoping Bandai pulls off all the stops with the one that will be in Tekken 8's.

Best Tekken ever! It was my first one to pick up as well competitively and dropped MVC2 for this game. I actually saw Justin Wong playing this and 3rd Strike at Final Round but was too shy to ask for a autograph or a selfie. He was the reason why I played MVC2 watching his videos when they were at 360p back in the days 😂

Taken 5 Dr for ps3 is still my favorite tekken all time for me period.
I loved this one once I relearned Jin. I was use to his moveset in 3 and really didn't dive into 4. The music is so damn good as well.
There's definitely an argument there, if we're just talking gameplay then Tekken 5, or more particularly Dark Resurrection is the cleanest Tekken out of them all, personally I prefer the even less juggle friendly Tag 1, Tekken 3 and Tekken 4, but I recognize that they're not as definitive for several technical reasons, still, imo miles better than Tekken 7, Tag 2 or Tekken 6.
5 is probably my favorite but I also really like 7 and I think 6 has the best customization of the series. Granted I like every Tekken game and I'm interested in how people will feel about 8 being less juggle happy than 7 and Tag Tournament 2.
It's a bit early to determine that Tekken 8 will have less juggles, it looks to me like perhaps the juggles will involve other mechanics for variety like the new heat system but in a clever way that doesn't take away too much from the core identity of Tekken, personally, I still prefer the more stripped down version of the gameplay from Tekken 3 until Tekken 4 and to a lesser extent Tekken 5/DR.

Bought this game upon release as a seasoned tekken gamer and missed it the most as time turned into working to pay bills, on top of feeding children X's making wife happy. Super happy this is a respected gane because i felt like it was perfect when it came out.
T5 has graphically, musically and mechanically held up amazingly well.

This is the best tekken, we played alot with my friends one match after the other, when we played tekken 6 no one cared, yoy had to wait so much to load one match and the graphics wasn't that much better either.

The Devil Within stage 2 music was awesomeness. I did love the hell out of this game until Tekken 6 came out. Scenario Campaign and all the unlockable upgrades via clothing made me invest time yo.

There's a reason why legends like Knee and JDCR rate it as their favorite,but yeah...in general,Tekken 5 is the definitive Tekken game.
5 was honestly Peek TEKKEN for me.. Personally. Great Music, Greatest Stage in ALL Tekken, and of course.. Shared Limelight between all characters. Wang also had The Best Ending imho.
4 was the Most Realistic (Stages, Evolution of Character Looks etc.), 6 is when they started bringing the Silliness Back. Ignoring Side Characters, putting in That Stupid Bounce Mechanic.. making Lars The Focused MC. **Sigh** I hope they can bring it (The Mojo) back with 8.
