I had the 2 previous versions of this Onni, which were both inferior to this version.
The first version, was one of DC's first Omni's, and, was printed on newsprint paper, and, i think it missed out the Funeral for a Friend, and the one shot issues as well.
The second version, had glossy paperstock, but, missed out the JLA issues, notably #70, which is one of my top 10 favourite comic issues ever.
Only, in this third version, does it pretty much include all issues, including those missing JLA and standalone issues, and is on quality paper.
I think this is finally the definitive collection of all the issues from this historic period of Superman.
Great art in this book, across the board, from Jurgens, Guice, Grummett and Bogdanove.

Thank you for outlining the differences with this printing. I was aware of some of these changes but I had no idea they added issues. The JLA issues were great adds!
Absolutely a definitive chapter for our favorite Blue Boy Scout.
@TheComicBookReport If you don't already have it, i also strongly recommend the Superman Doomsday Hunter Prey miniseries, which was collected in a trade paperback. This gives the chilling background on where Doomsday comes from, and, the links to Krypton.

This story will always have a special place in my heart as I consider this story to be when MY personal DC Universe was born. I was a Freshman in high school when this story began and I was a sophomore when it ended and it introduced some of the characters that made my DC Universe, such as Conner Kent/Superboy and Steel. It made the Superman mythos larger and yeah, t was the BEGINNING of the DC Universe for me. This not only a great Superman story, but a great crisis story as well.
And not to sound weird, which I kinda am, but if I were a Youth Minister, I would use this story to get the kids in my class to think about Jesus Christ and His sacrifice and what He did. I would make comparisons and contrasts and I just love this Superman story. Definitely in my top ten.
An epic story to be sure and I agree it really gives you a sense of the scope of the DC universe and how this one hero and his absence effected the entire world

I had this one but had to sell my copy because I needed money, now i have the deluxe edition and four tradepaperbacks to complete the whole story, but if there’s something that i hate from this story are those boring Bloodlines annual issues, those were irrelevant and boring and didn’t tie with main story
