Took My ages! But i finally found it! All i remembered about this game, was running over the sheeps in some sort of italian map, and a mars track with a 6-wheeled vehicle. Nostalgia is strong!!!!
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG holly mother of retro games! I can't believe that I finally found it, I have been wondering what was the name of the game that we used to play back then in the 90s! It been more than 20 year since I played it for the first time. Thanks you so much @Nostalgic Games, you giveme back a piece of my childhood!!!
This needs to be remade for modern systems. I used to play this with my best friend non-stop. Both of us on the same keyboard, just using different keys. Man I miss this stuff...
IKR? To this day I haven't seen another game with the same feature. Pushing too many buttons at the same time would cancel the inputs, but I still think it was genius.
If I remember correctly the resolution could be set up between 640x480 and 800x600 or so... but yeah... I am also surprised by my memory about this. The fun ruled the graphics.
Guys, the other night a memory came back to me: that when I was little I used to play a frekin' fun airboats racing game with my brother and started doubting because, you know, I usually don't remember anything. Then I searched the Internet and found a link to this video in a forum. Now I know I'm not crazy, thanks so much for sharing this masterpiece on the net!
i only had the demo of this game, which had only one car lvl and one boat race. I played it split-screen with my cousin, using just one keyboard. And we never actually ran the race... we were exploring the map and killing the AI competitors I remember waking early in the morning so we had more time to play this. One day we had a glitch in the race track, some kind of glitched mountain appeared in the middle of that shallow lake, and it blowed our minds, we thought and felt the game was much more complex than it really is.
Ahhh this came randomly and opened a crate of nostalgia in my head!! I remember spending hours off track and just exploring all the stuff the game could offer… arghhhh
God I havent looked at this for 25 years. My mate down the road had the demo on his Dell PC and we would play it after school for hours still in uniform. This and Road Rash. The nostalgia!
yes, it was a giant checkerboard colored ramp! i have no idea how i found that one, but it was big fun. the same map also had a little valley of death. i used to play it in splitscreen. you could start jumping to giant heights if you bounced the vehicle off of fences, too! was fun to watch the car go fly with the stationary cinematic camera view... strange how i can think back to those things this many years later..
Yeah, there was this shallow ocean where we could drive over. There was another one with a steep mountain that the car was able to climb, somehow, and everytime I got up there, I used to accelerate towards the edge and smash down there, haha.
Not sure if it was the same one but in a map where you could pick boat or hovercraft, there was one mountain with a golden horse printed in it somewhere in the lower left corner
A friend of mine and me used to play this. There used to happen all kinds of weird glitches of sorts, whereas we would laugh our asses off. Jumping on another car from a great height, weird teleports and other stuff.
The game looks much more detailed and "crisp" than I remember it to be. Of course last time I played it was about 20 years ago so...yeah. I remember than the Mars track was my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
You may be right about that because if I remember correctly you could turn the detail of the textures to low or off or something which made everything looked like flat, single-colored polygons. ^^
I used to love that game. When I was little, I wanted to play it every time I went on the computer, Mum let me play it, but sometimes, she told me to play something else first. Most of the time, she wouldn't let me play it at all.
I like watching this gameplay in the mornings. I remember playing this in weekend mornings when i was 12 . What a feeling...Nice memories...I bought this game in a stationary XD
This brings back so much nostalgia. I loved that it was 1st person and couldn't understand why ever other racing game to cover after it didn't have it when they had it working so well in 1996! I spent hours of my childhood playing this.
wow, years and years of wondering... I finally found the game I used to play alot when I was a very small child. I remember the physicx being ahaed of it's time and you could go off road.
I remember finding this area outside of the track with signs that warned you about the edge of the world. And there were sheep. But I was 5, so I might be misremembering
ah man memories, used to play this game with an old friend of mine like 9-10 years ago x) randomly searched for old racing games and found this :3 especially remember that "andele andele, yiihaa" or whatever he says xDD
I remember when we played this game on the one and only PC in the village x) and we took the audio files and made Xm songs with them on fast tracker 2.08 OH THOSE GLORY DAYS LMFAO
My friend has this game and I had to BEG my mum for a copy. My parents bought me my first pc in 1996 but absolutely refused to buy games for it because a computer "isn't a toy". My mum finally relented & bought me Big Red Racing & I played it absolutely to death!
I think I used to have a demo version of this or something because I remember the boat level and the first car level but I don't remember any of the other ones. I don't remember there being tanks or whatever thsoe are at all.
How do you get the CD audio to work? I've installed the game through DOSBox via CDrom, but I haven't figured out how to get the game in full audio quality.
I can't even remember if I actually got the music to work or if I just added it to the video afterwards ^^ But I know that this whole CD music thing is a problem because it doesn't work anymore in today PC's or you would have to look for a workaround to get it to play. Many of the games I recorded from that era I had no choice but to play without music.
Some games with CD audio can work on my computer, but some of them don't loop the music. I've encountered this issue in the classic Monster Truck Madness games where the music is silent after the first play. I don't know if its always been like that or not as I've always been more used to the short stock standard loops from the small size installations. Big Red Racing is the only game I've had this problem with and that is mainly because I've run it through DOSBox, as the windows version is incompatible with modern PCs even with Windows 95 backwards compatibility. However, if I run it via the CDrom itself, the music plays but the sound effects are muted. I've tried using OracleVM, but Windows XP Professional which I was using for the emulation has expired and I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to activate it at the time.
Where can I get this game now? I found the full CD version on an abandonware site but couldn't download it, it would just blast me with popups but no download. :(
Split screen mode ruled supreme on my friends P166MMX. I finally bought a vanilla P200 and from there we used to play via null serial link but neither of us could run the game in SVGA still XD
If there wasn't any key within the options for that I guess it was controlled over the F-Keys. So maybe F1-F4 or something. Just try around and hit some buttons while on the track :)
Man, the nostalgia is strong with this one.
Don't remember it looking this terrible though x)
@@98Dreadboy it actually looks better than i remember. well except for the shaky polygons. don't remember that.
it looks better and worst than i remember lol
I'm amazed my mom's work PC could run something like this, but it was able to
Indeed! 2put the pedal to the metal! »… Epic!

Never got this one run well at all in any kind of emulator. Remember it running smoothly on a real Pentium however 🤤
This is one of the first games i played as a child. brings back good memories, even tho i can't remember the graphics being so shitty ;D
HAHA SAME HERE
Wow, I honestly cannot imagine playing this game when I was 7 or 8? It looks so bad, how did I love this so much?
@@LucasVanderBartlett Because our imaginations weren't ruined by things like the realization of what taxes, war, or hangovers were.

@@maxmarlow the graphics looked different on a CRT display too. A lot of older games look worse on modern displays.

I remember being hooked on this game - the smooth 3D graphics and huge racing environments were a revelation!
I feel like drinkin' a gallon of turpentine and pissin' on a brushfire 😂 - the nostalgia is strong with this one!
i think i played the demo for this a LOOOOTTT. pretty good racing game.

Amazing times! These physics beat some later racing games too, you can actually feel a bit of weight to the car while drifting haha so fun.
i remember playing this and running over the sheep

Did anyone else find the big mountain
It was on one of the stages if you drove off the track and headed towards the sun for a few minutes
+car9melo by the time I played, like 18 years ago, I used to do that.
Yeah I remember finding that.

Holy shit I loved this game. This was the first PC game I ever owned, it came free with an Epson printer 😂
I have been looking for this for 30 freaking years! Thank you
One of the very few racing game I really enjoyed on the PC! This really brings back them memories! Thank you!

I had such a blast playing this game as a kid, it had fun racing and a ton of content for the time.
Man, that stupid laugh brings back memories. I think this was the first truly 3D racing game I ever had. And it was a share ware version.
10:53 summarises this game nicely xD
When I was a kid, I installed this on all the PCs in my CAD design class and we played over lan, after we were done with our assignments.
So Smooth and life like😆😂 Damn this brings back memory's Great upload my friend 🤘😀🤘

Way ahead of it's time
For 1995, everything about this game was state of the art
This was the first game I played on our very first pc

+Mark Sterry shout out to Joe Cotton! I dunno, I used to be on the duke nukem server. And yourself?
I was 9 years old when I played this. And boy did i play it.
I just came here to say I searched for like forever and I also finally found my childhood game!
3:12 That's a reference to 'The Italian Job'! I never understood that as a kid.
Thanks for the upload, this was a pure 15 minutes of nostalgia.
You're welcome! :)
That would also explains why the track title is called "The Italian Job" :D
NostalgicGames Still wouldn't have rung any bells. :) I remember trying time and again to see if I could ram that bus down the hill.
I remember going off the map and finding completely strange things, it was a great game
I played the heck out of this game back in the day.
This is one of the games that I most enjoyed playing and recording for my channel. Despite its apparent graphic simplicity, it is really fun.
I use to played this one with my brothers. Such a good times
Man, this game was 90s af looking back. I remember it being the coolest game in the world

I played the crap out of this in the 90s. So much fun at the time!
Muito bom, adorava esse jogo nos anos 1996-1997
Wow, using a sound effect on every menu choice didn't seem nearly as annoying back then!
We played this in Lan to pause from Doom, Duke Nukem and Red Alert Fights.....awesome times!

finally i found it!!!!! last time i played it 12 years ago, was a kid... very fun game

My favourite racing game of all time. How can I play on Windows 10? please please please tell me
+swiv2d Well I don't have Windows 10 but I guess Dosbox is still your best chance.
NostalgicGames Thanks and how do I run the game off dosbox I have the cd rom still but could you please explain i'm sorry for troubling you.

some of that music sounds like the doom soundtrack
Some of the doom soundtrack sounds like Metallica.

Just try around and hit some buttons while on the track :)

So much time sank into this and Destruction Derby omg
Jesus that shaky camera made me all kinds of sick back then. Especially in 1st person.
Yes, I found it, it is F3 for the on board, the others to switch camera and player, thanks a lot mate :)
What a fun game back then!
How do I get this game, I miss it so much.
a chop chop a few trees, oh what a mess it is, lol
