It's basically just sampling other genres and putting a certain type of percussion and rhythm to it. He's a good pianist, but not that great compared to many (even just for making it up on the spot). That being said, I like the beats and hip hop in general, just as of the current status quo of beats, not super hard to make a competitively good beat.
