Dude - might I add an example from one of our old vids together “Hang Time Muskies”. Especially important to create a pause-hang time-near visual cover like a sunken tree or isolated weed clump. One of our best muskies on that memorable trip came after a bunch of unsuccessful casts with various lures and no pause. The hang time right by that one particular tree triggered a crushing strike. 👊💪
Joe, I believe that "hang-time musky" was the Dude-das fish too! hahaha! And right on, that episode really high lights the importance of a neutral buoyancy lure like the GR to trigger strikes from cover-tight reluctant fish!
Dave, that would be AMAZING if that happened haha! It has happened on guide trips over the years... which has led to the some of the best "client faces" as I set the hook during a demo.
I’ll be fishing next week at a great musky lake that I don’t have a lot of experience on. But here, our water is in the mid to upper 50s. We’ve had unseasonably warm start to fall. Any advice for when November isn’t acting like it should?
Jerod, I would throw blades and mid-sized minnow baits (worked quicker) with your warmer water temps to contact and find some fish. Blades can be helpful on a new body of water to cover water. I would also recommend trolling! Great way to cover water too!
